If you absolutely must own Beatles covers, like I do, this is not a terrible album. The "Chill Out" aspect is an interesting method for describing semi-electronica (or is it "emo" now?) tracks - however, it implies relaxation, and I for one didn't find the tracks particularly relaxing. As the album was recorded in Barcelona, most of the singers have Spanish accents, and there are occasional translation problems, like the "winding" in "Long and Winding Road" being pronounced like "windy". There are also many attempts to change the Beatles' original phrasing, especially noticable on "All You Need Is Love". "Strawberry Fields Forever" is given a reggae beat for some reason, and "Something" sounds more like a samba, but hey, maybe you like those styles of music..
The tracks are also run together, the end of one overlapping the start of the next. The upside to this is that the album really starts to pick up some momentum on "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away", which leads into "Here Comes the Sun". However, then the album slows down again for "With a Little Help From My Friends" and "The Fool on the Hill", and grinds to a near halt when it hits "In My Life". Try shuffle play, or just picking the bouncier tracks for your MP3 player.

I Was there when the the Beatles landed in Queens. I like these neo mozarts. This album is well-done, res ipsa loquitur: beatles chill out. It's worth buying. Just one thing: who is the chick singing? VA is kinda generic. But there's a girl singing most of the tracks who reminds me somewhat of Garbage's diva. Sounds great. John would turn over in his grave but in approval.
