Another Amazing Clubland CD!!!!.......2006-02-27

Following in the footsteps of the amazing Clubland 4, the fifth
installment of the series could be the best. Including great exclusive remixes of great songs, Clubland 5 proves to be a worthy buy despite the high (regular) price.

1. Flip & Fill - Discoland ... A-
The original version is a lot better than the Cheeky Traxx Mix on Clubland 4. The cheesy lyrics might frighten some, but to the others craving great music, this is a very good song.
2. Ultrabeat - Better Than Life (CJ Stone Mix) ... A+
AMAZING SONG. Making the original version seem plain and boring, CJ Stone's pumping remix features amazing music. One of the best tracks on the CD.
3. Styles & Breeze - You're Shining ... B+
Why is this on Clubland 5? It was already on Clubland 4. It appears to be a different version however. It's OK, but "Heartbeatz" is better.
4. Eyeopener - Hungry Eyes (Cheeky Traxx Mix) ... B+
Usually the Cheeky Traxx mixes are worse than the originals, but on this track, Cheeky Traxx makes a good decision by lowering the pitch of the vocals. They were extremely high and kind of annoying on the original.
5. Special D - Nothing I Won't Do ... B+
Decent, but "You" should have been on here instead.
6. Rachel McFarlane - Lover (Flip & Fill Mix) ... A-
Haven't heard the original but I've heard a remix with lower pitched vocals. The vocals sound better high pitched. The Flip & Fill Mix is very well done and a good listen.
7. Neo Cortex - Elements ... A-
Cheesy vocals, especially the weird "You will become a part of the elements" part, but the music is very good. And the main vocalist is pretty good.
8. Clear Vu - I Adore ... B-
Not interesting...at all...
9. N-Trance - I'm In Heaven ... A-
N-Trance has done better, especially with Kelly Llorenna on vocals, but "I'm In Heaven" is good anyway. The vocalist is good and the music is deep.
10. Jurgen Vries & Andrea Britton - Take My Hand ... A+
Another one of the best songs on the album. The mixer of Clubland 5 made this song amazing by speeding it up from the original. Near perfect song - great music, great vocals, very enjoyable.
11. Double Dutch - Bring the Noise ... B
Good music, but the "Bring the Noise" sample gets old. Quickly.
12. Styles & Breeze Feat. Karen Danzig - Heartbeatz (Flip & Fill Mix) ... A-
Great remix of the original, but by the first minute or so it doesn't seem that it will be that good of a track. After the breakdown though the song proves to be really good.
13. Scooter - Jigga Jigga! ... A+
ANOTHER one of the best tracks on the album! This is by far my favorite Scooter song. A really good breakdown vocal and even very good raps from H.P.
14. Groove Coverage - Poison (Flip & Fill Mix) ... A-
Flip & Fill's remix slows down the first verse A LOT and it sounds somewhat strange but overall a good remix.
15. Fall of Troy Feat. Danni Alexander - Miss You (Flip & Fill Mix) ... B
Besides being the eighteenth remix by Flip & Fill on Clubland 5, this song is pretty good.
16. Protect the Innocent - Body Talk (Kenny Hayes Mix) ... B+
Good music.
17. Tina Cousins - Hymn (Clubstar Mix) ... A
A very good song by Tina, and it proves to be her best hit to date.
18. Escape - Flying Away ... B+
Wasn't this on another Clubland?
19. Girls Aloud - The Show (Flip & Fill Mix) ... A-
A very good trance remix of "The Show", and it is a lot better than the tedious original.
20. The Farm - All Together Now 2004 (BCD Project Mix) ... A
Without the verses, this song seems horribly written, but the music recovers the dissapointing chorus and turns the sports anthem into a hard trancefest.
CD TWO
1. Marly - You Never Know (LMC Mix) ... A-
Weird vocals but a nice funky dance song. LMC gained my respect through their remix of Erasure's "Breathe", which really should appear on a future Clubland...
2. George Michael - Flawless (Go To The City) (Shapeshifters Mix) ... B+
Sounding a lot like the original, and the original wasn't even that interesting. OK though.
3. LMC Feat. Rachel McFarlane - Take Me To The Clouds Above (Mash Up Kids Mix) ... B+
An unneeded remix. The original was fine. And the remix just sounds like a repeated loop.
4. Flower Power ... B+
While I found half of the samples used in this song on my MAGIX music making program, this song is still good. The vocal version is better however.
5. Narcotic Thrust - I Like It ... A-
A very good track from Yvonne John Lewis. Great vocals, but the pitch was raised...sounds weird now...
6. FHM Girls - Do Ya Think I'm Sexy? (LMC Mix) ... B+
Good music, but the vocalists aren't too good...but yes, I think they're sexy...
7. Milk & Sugar - Stay Around ... B
Banal.
8. Christina Milian - Dip It Low (Full Intention Mix) ... B+
They did weird stuff to the vocals but it's overall a good house remix.
9. Mousse T Feat. Emma Langford - Is It Cause I'm Cool? (Moonbootica Mix) ... B
The original was a lot better.
10. Royal Gigolos - California Dreamin' ... B-
Listening to this Benny Benassi-ish song was a WTF moment.
11. Wackside - Lost In Music (Hardino Remix) ... B
Decent...the music is OK I guess...
12. Jose - Hecitate ... B-
Third uninteresting track in a row. CD1 was a lot better.
13. RIP - Shut Up ... B+
An OK cover of the Black Eyed Peas, I guess...at least the music is good...
14. Frankee - F.U.R.B. (Mix Factory Mix) ... A
A lot better than the original. It needed a good trance remix. I would've liked it fully unedited though.
15. Awesome 3 Feat. Bailey - Don't Go ... B
Uhhhh...uninteresting...again...ugh
16. DT8 Project - The Sun Is Shining Down On Me (Jurgen Vries Mix) ... A-
Good music.
17. Plummet - Cherish the Day (Antillas Mix) ... A-
Weird lyrics but good vocals and music. "Damaged" was a lot better.
18. Gladiatior Feat. Izzy - Now We Are Free ... A
Good trance song with opera vocals. I first heard it on Now 58.
19. Ron van de Beuken - Timeless (Sam Sharp Mix) ... B+
Weird music but pretty cool.
20. XTM & DJ Chucky Presents Annia - Give Me Your Love (XTM Mix) ... A-
The vocals sound a lot different from "Fly on the Wings of Love" but it's still a good song. Nice music.

So, overall, this album gets an A-. There are some amazing classics and some uninteresting fillers, especially those songs that were on other Clublands. But Clubland 5 proves to be one of the best installments in the series. I suggest it to anyone who likes trance music or house music with pretty cheesy lyrics.

I bought this album with high hopes as if you are anything like me you have ever Clubland that there has ever been and listen to all of them all of the time! This one definitely lives up to the expectation of being full of the hottest tracks played in clubs throughout the world. With a mix of everything that sums up the word Clubland and a little extra it's a definite buy for anyone into Dance! If you don't like it, rethink your definitive genre because it's not Dance!
