What a great collection. Mostly 70s disco classics redone by contemporary UK acts like Gerri Halliwell, V, Girls aloud, the coronation street girls, and Westlife.

Also features Donna Summer, the queen of disco on 2 tracks, including a brilliant duet with Westlife.

I was at the recording of the Discomania show and went there purely to see the queen of Disco, Donna Summer. She performed the 2 songs featured here; 'Enough is enough' with Westlife, and the 'Donna Summer megamix' (comprising 'Hot stuff', 'Bad girls' and sprinklings of 'I feel love' and 'Love to love you baby' with a contemporary feel) as well as 'McArthur Park' and 'Last dance' which unfortunately were missed out here. It was an amazing performance showcasing her rich, powerful vocals.

Onto the other songs, they are generally covers of disco classics by contemporary UK acts. Standouts include 'If I can't have you' by Jamelia, 'It's raining men' By Geri, 'Can you feel it' by new boyband V (who gave a brilliant, energetic performance that night), 'Fresh' (originally done by Kool & the Gang, and done here by them and Liberty X) and 'Sunny'(originally done by Boney M) to name a few.

Listening to this cd brings back a flood of great memories, both of the recording, and of the days when disco ruled. 4 stars based entirely on the Summer tracks.
