Kim English's "Missing You," Byron Stingily's "Keep Love Going," and Club Artists United's "Sweet Chariot" are some of the tasty house tracks served up on Club Nervous, Vol. 2. The 10-track compilation disc, mixed by Frankie Feliciano, also presents more unusual house fare. Kerri Chandler's jazzy singing brushes up against an odd, intriguing keyboard pattern to create a distinctive flavor on "Rain." Mike Dunn's elegiac "Now That You're Gone" features flutist Paul Mertens taking an expansive, track-long solo over a tightly wound groove. The closer, Johnny Dangerous's "Face It," uses only the most essential ingredients to wrap things up: just drums and the human voice chanting, speaking, screaming, whispering. --Fred Cisterna

4 out of 5 stars The Soulful House Expereince, Vol. 2: Gospel House.......2007-03-11

This one is a keeper.
I found this Gospel House to be very inspirational as well as up beat.
The upbeat tempos will definitely get you up in morning and place you on natural high. I absolutely love it.

Not into techno or rave music which is what this CD is. Yes, the tracks have a gospel flair and I hope God doesn't get offended.

5 out of 5 stars thanks god!!!!!.......2004-09-12

I must say this is the most emotional, moving, joyful, uplifting, inspiring cd I've ever listened to!!!For your mind your body and your soul....good fly...

4 out of 5 stars IT"S OK............................2004-03-23

I wasn't really impressed with CD. I may have been expecting something else. The redo of "REACHING FOR THE SKY" although good but did not go with the theme of the album, but most compilation CDs are that way.
The beats will hold your attention and the music flow is good, in spite of the track that I have forementioned.

5 out of 5 stars Soulful Gospel Stomp.......2003-12-22

I play it to work, I play it at home,I play it to church and I even played one track in church between services just to see the 'so called saved" stomp their feet and shake their heads.... reminicing... Hallelujah It is uplifting and groovy. I can Priase God everywhere with this CD. No complains just SATISFACTION!

5 out of 5 stars I Can't Stop Movin'...Still Nervous About Frankie.......2004-10-15

What is it about DJs named "Frankie" that makes them sound so good??? There's always been Knuckles and now there's Feliciano, representing Club Nervous. This CD is the perfect follow up to Volume 1. It is mixed to perfection! There two notes that need to be made as to why this CD is special. The first thing is Track Two. It is in memory of Armando Gallop (R.I.P.), who will be remembered by those die-hard House heads from Chicago (like me). It has such an enchanting melody and bass line that every time I listen to it I will think of "Armando" and some of my friends from yesteryear. And for the track to follow "Missing You" is really awesome (thanks Frankie). The second thing is how Frankie "works" a couple of tracks, namely Track Three and Track Seven. Just like the other Frankie, this one keeps the groove locked in and is not afraid to "work" a track and extend it.

If you get this CD you will find yourself playing it every day...just make sure you play it loud!!!

5 out of 5 stars This one's a keeper..........2002-02-22

I'm very picky about House compilations, since they all boast about their "deepness", "funkiness", etc... but this one, no sir, no bragging here! Mr. Feliciano selected and mixed some pretty sweet tunes, pure NYC style quality Deep House, this one's gonna stay in my collection for a long time to come... And as for those trying to diss on "vol. 1" by Mr. Humphries, please! Stick to reviewing the "progressive" house you're used to, any cat who's down with real deep house/garage gotta give both their props...

5 out of 5 stars nice, very nice..........2000-01-28

3 out of 5 stars Itýs a banging set with plenty of rhythm.......2000-08-07

The last thing we need is another compilation series, especially one that thinks it's cool to misspell the title, intentionally or not leaves a track off the listing on the back, and gives no DJ info inside. They're lucky that Chris Harshman picked a pretty solid mix of hard house and progressive tunes, offering a slice of what you'd want to hear at a club and probably won't. This would tear up a big sound system I suspect, and in the right listening environment it will do the same for you.

"Halo Varga" is deep, percussive and varying, a smart way to start a set. You'll churn through tracks by Pure Science, the prolific Timo Maas (who doesn't have his work on a disc these days?) and his sizzling "Eclipse," and the blippy "Private Parts." Other good choices are Maas (again) serving up the aliens-in-my-head stomper "Riders of the Storm," and "Dreamstate," which finally lets you catch your breath. That track also starts a shift to trancier tunes- witness the whispers of "Sunset," or Der Dritte Raum's cascading "Hale Bopp." Considering mix discs invariably do the opposite (start soft and end with a bang) this is a pleasant change.

A couple of tracks are off-kilter- Tomba Vira's "Crazy" wastes an infectious guitar hook with trumpet-wailing insanity, and "Minddrive" squealing is simply annoying. Nevertheless, It's a banging set with plenty of rhythm, and while it does veer into DJ tool songs sporadically, there's just enough melody scraps and nuance to keep your head as interested as your feet. Danny Tenaglia or DJ John Kelley fans may especially dig this. Grade: B (3.5 stars)
