Artists from one of cologne's primere label's meet up with artist from the experimental Sub Rosa label. A great introduction to some very fine musicians.

The exciting new sounds coming out of Koln on Thomas Brinkmann's Kompakt label have been presented alongside heavily reconstructed mixes courtesy of Sub Rosa acts. The real strengths of the disc are in the Kompakt originals (Jurgen Paape, M.Mayer), and the higher profile acts provide the only real disappointments (Scanner, Autechre). The Freeform vs. M.Mayer collaboration is completely brilliant. An interesting hybrid of strange, quirky electronics and smooth, minimal tech-house.
