Ministry's followup to The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste makes use of the same aggressive approach but sinks to a darker and fiercer level. Chokehold opener "N.W.O." uses tape loops of then-President Bush calling for a "New World Order," which Ministry delivers by infusing their industrial savvy with machine-gunned, thrash metal guitars, relentless beats, and vocals that run the gamut from deranged auctioneer of the damned ("Jesus Built My Hotrod") to terrifying screams ("Just One Fix"). Fast and furious, Psalm 69 is an acidic taste of Ministry at their most focused and diabolical. --Erin Amar

Ministry-Psalm 69.......2007-02-04
If you are a fan of industrial metal and you don't own this CD, you need to get it right now. I personally rank this behind "Land of Rape and Honey" and before "Mind..." in terms of favorites. If you have heard anything from Ministry's last 2 CD's, I can pretty much guarantee that you'll love this CD.
Starting with NWO, the music is hard and heavy and never lets up. Even the last two songs, which traditionally for Ministry were a bit on the experimental side, are pretty dark and foreboding. If you like Nine Inch Nails but wish ole Trent was a bit heavier with the music you probably would like this. It's like taking heavy metal music and adding various samples from movies and television and mixing it in a blender. Only you're listening to it while the blender is on.
Old school industrial with a sense of humour.......2007-01-15
This is one of those albums where all the songs are good.
Although this was released in 1992, it is like Metallica's "Kill 'Em All": Cutting edge music that stands the test of time. You will never get tired of listening to this music.
If Pink Floyd switched to making industrial music, this is the first album they would make. If you like old school industrial, you will love these songs. If you like sardonic, sarcastic lyrics, you will love these songs.
Not my favorite Ministry but plenty to like here.......2006-12-20
Even the good songs here seem to run out of gas before they're over. NWO starts out strong but gets a bit repetitive and dull. In fact repetitive is a good way to sum up most of the album. The driving guitars and thrash elements add tempo but dont seem to go anywhere.
My favorite song on the album is Hero. Which blends the guitars and thrash elements in a way that works for me. The lyrics seem more controlled and directed on this song than many of the others. The guitars serve better as the backdrop than they do when they try to star as they do in other songs.
To me this album represents an interesting experiment by Ministry, but I prefer most of their other albums.
Ministry's best........2006-10-10
Psalm 69 is a pretty cool sludgy and drug inspired piece of work. I like it a lot.
The Way to Succeed..........2006-07-30
...and the Way to Suck Eggs. That's the rest of the title, and it's accurate in its "love it or lump it" attitude: there's no in-between ground with music this intense, you're either in or out. If you think Rob Zombie could stand to be heavier, Nine Inch Nails should be a little less sensitive, or Rammstein should try to be less German, than this is exactly what you're looking for. Ministry have several damn good albums, including their last two releases, but this is their definitive statement, to be locked in a time capsule for future generations to learn how to just get angry. Hardcore enough for punks, metal enough for headbangers, and your parents WILL hate it more than your Korn CDs.

ONE+ONE Worth It!.......2007-06-22
Despite the heavy critics this double cd is getting by far, i bought it just by the curiosity of listening these two fellows mixing together sounded to me like a weird experiment but oh well, Im not in the hype mode to write an exciting review about this, but definitely in short terms this double mix kicks @$$, the production is way exceptional and the tracks well not a super fan of all but hell they sound very good.
Both discs contain same vibe (from a certain point of view), they still are different but they have "i dont know what" that makes you keep listening and listening until you want to put it again.
I dont have a fave cd cause both have parts i love, for those who own it will understand.
Don't read the critics!!! Just Buy it, its a mixed compilation for the new generation duo Dj's that has something pretty cool and you will still hear it in the next years.
One+One surely is a recommendation you will love it and for parties !! :)
Regards!
Holy S#@! They are Awesome!!!.......2007-06-06
First off, if you don't have this CD please buy it. One of the single best CD's Ever. The combination of two amazing DJ's have never made a 1+1=3 combo since Sasha and Digweed. I saw them in LA when they toured and I have seen many shows but this easily ranks in the Top 3 all time which is a lot to say for me. On the 1st CD, there are definitely some tracks that stand out: Push Push & Fragmente song are on my all time great lists. But I just don't think that words can adaquately describe the level of skill and expertise these two guys show when they put out this CD or when you see them together live. They create a new genre of house music:which is called the best damn house ever! I am floored by the CD and seeing them, please don't hesitate to buy this you will not be disappointed. I don't do this often but if I back it up I mean it.
Fantastic, Fresh, and Groundbreaking..........2007-05-30
I think the two reviewers before me did a nice job reviewing this double-disc.
I'm not one for writing reviews here or anywhere, but I felt compelled to for this release. I stumbled into the One+One duo while at WMC in Miami. My friend and I caught their live show at The Fifth, which was their official release party for their One+One release. We were blown away. Subsequently, I've seen them in Chicago and in New York, and each time have been amazed at the quality of their music.
The release itself is the freshest, most original take on electronic music that I've heard in years. My tastes generally lean more towards house (vs. techno, for instance), but have been slowly acclimating towards a greater appreciation of tech-house, etc. This release strikes the perfect balance of "tech" and "melody".... of rich, vibrating basslines, and smooth harmonic overtones.
This release will be looked upon years from now as a true groundbreaker... trust me on that. Do yourself a favor and take a chance. I doubt you'll be disappointed, and I'd bet you'll have a hard time taking it out of your musical rotation.
Enjoy...
One + One Equals Three.... Damn Fine Discs.......2007-04-27
The stylistic fusion between James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli on "One+One" is, to say the least, impressive. The two DJ's, whose individual styles remain significantly different and distinct from one another, are complementary in ways I can only ascribe to the same such collaborative aspects of Sasha and John Digweed's endeavors. "One+One" is strange, for the first mix is rightfully ambient - smooth, not only in mixing but in the purity of the sound quality and music itself. Smooth as silk. The two styles, one breakbeat/house and the other progressive/minimal-tech, fuse together and flower into what I consider to be one of the most unpredictable and weird mixes I hav heard in a long time. The One+One combination blooms immediately and does nto wilt with the scrutiny and heat of repeated listens.
Disc one casts off with One+One's `Rover', at once ambient and electrically charged in a subtle fashion. It doesn't take more than a minute for a beat to drop, crisp and pleasing to the ears-Like a winding river, Rover's bassline slithers smoothly into formation, completing the necessarily sluggish introduction to this highly anticipated double disc mix. Manipulating the decks with deft precision seems to be no problem for the pair of rising EDM stars, though I feel that for a release so fresh and as highly anticipated that it was unwise of the duo to choose two relatively dated and familiar songs, including Deep Dish's "Stay Gold" and the overly-repetitious "To Ya Waistline" to help kick-off the album's first disc after Rover. Yet, by the time JZ's edit of "The Way We Swing" melds into the mixture, we're all beginning to move a bit. One+One creates an atmosphere whereby the constant movement between smoothly thumping club music and transient ambience is not at all uncomfortable. Some really decent tracks which caught my attention on the first mix are "Analog Sparkles," "Love it" and the One+One version of James Zabiela's "Human." James represents his home-grown style with this one and reminds the listener that it is two individuals working with one another to perform, and not a single entity. I am always happy to see "Soothe" play in a mix, and it does so at the end of mix one. Its smooth and minimal appearance (that I am sure was inspired by Fanciulli) delights the senses and aids in bringing the eccentricity of the first mix to commendable closure. Beware of "Think of Love." I did not expect such an impassioned and diverse song to wrap things up: Middle-Eastern and wild, yet coherent and thoroughly enjoyable.
The second mix is the most musical fun I have had since M.A.N.D.Y.'s "At the Controls" release. I think the second mix's aura is wacky and frenetic - hell, listen to the opening track "SimonSis1"! Zabiela went to town on the sampling here. Again, for me, the key-words that describe the musical timbre of this mix are "smooth," and "silky," but all of these stupendous elements are background operations now, allowing for the ensuing madness to take to the fore-front. "Being Stoopid" lethargically slides into "Give Me Luv/Erotic Discourse" (JZ Erotic Luv Mash-Up), raising the wackiness bar to rather unbelievable heights: Even better, we're allowed to bat-around a bit with Fanciulli's own "Cat Out of the Bag (Jim Rivers Cat Nap Mix)," which steadily gains momentum while pursuing a melody that leaves me feeling as if it had been delivered from outer space for my listening pleasure. "Work It" shows Zabiela's wizardry at fooling with the decks again, arbitrarily dropping sick beats into a slick stew of what has now become an EDM frenzy. The Hi-Fi Bugs add a significant techy-prog number with "Don't Die, Don't Kill Anyone," a track whose funky flavor negates making necessary the intriguing track title! Further tracks to note as you traverse down this wacky, unorthodox trail (like watching Alice in Wonderland!) include... well, the whole rest of the disc, to be honest. It is rare that I make the following statement, but EVERY SINGLE track on the second mix adds its part in what amounts to be quietly irresistible madness. There will be no skipping of tracks, here.
But wait! There's more.
The duo prepared a special third bonus mix that is accessible via the internet. The third mix amounts to what I consider a 45-minute combination of the first and second mixes. The first 25 minutes are so slowly paced with a repetitive melody; I sometimes find myself bored with it, but it should be considered a necessity to those of you who enjoy falling asleep to music. By the 28 minute mark, the mix's speed picks up with some spoken-word insertions, and then *wham* - it's off to Zabiela World for another blissful fifteen minutes. Within these fifteen mixes lies everything the second mix was perhaps meant to be and more, since it is so finely condensed and thus leaps and bounds more accessible. I feel the obligation to point out the sexy house bass on the second half of the third mix because for me, it makes the second half what it is.
A superbly smooth, wild and fun recording mixed by two of the world's finest, the musical journey that is One+One is sure not to leave my stereo for months to come. In this case, One + One equals five; five stars out of five, that is.
~Lex
Very nice! (how much).......2007-04-10
Finally, the long awaited release from two world class DJ's. Each are known for their own specialties: Fanciulli for his excellent mixing and turntable knowhow, and Zabiela for his technical expertise. Combined, these guys (as expected) tear it up. I mean...really tear it up. Disc one starts with a nice slow track which leads in to the classic Deep Dish remix of "Stay Gold" and right into another oldy but good "To Ya Waistline." If you listen really, really closely...you can hear all sorts of stuff going on in the background...courtesy of Zabiela of course.
"The Way We Swing" is where the disc really starts to get good. Really good for the next several tracks. Again, listen for all of the details in each track. Fast forward (not really of course because you would be missing out) to track and things get ridiculous.
Disc 2 starts with the only track that I don't care for. It actually sounds like there is something wrong with your CD or speakers. Now I know this is intentional...but I don't care for it.
"Being Stoopid" makes up for the poor beginning which is an excellent track that has beeen around for a while. Back again for a remix of "Give Me Love". You will know this when you hear it. Another classic. Track #4 is excellent. So much going on it makes your ears hurt (In a good way.
I'm not going to ramble on any more about this release. Just know that it is from 2 of the best in the industry.

A teen pop star whose fleeting fame was usurped by that of Donnie Osmond, Keith Green--former runaway and rock & roll bad boy--went from rabble-rouser to born-again Christian in the aftermath. By the mid-'70s he and his wife, songwriter Melody Green, dedicated their full lives and musical abilities to their faith, forming the still active Last Days Ministry, in which the music played a central focus. Tragically, Green died in a 1982 plane crash and his short but prolific career thus became of greater poignancy to the evangelical Christian community left in the wake of his passing. Green's musical message, piano pop with hard-line born-again themes and lyrics showcasing his theatrical vocals ("Most people don't find out till they're half dead / That they need another life"), is presented in total on this posthumously issued volume of The Ministry Years. --Paige La Grone
Customer Reviews:
those crazy prophets.......2007-05-07
To call Keith Green a prophet may seem the product of an unguarded moment, particularly if 'prophet' is up there beside 'flawless' on your conceptual shelving. Yet a slow-and-steady listen-through of this two-disc compilation does more than take me back to my teenage years, when Green plausibly had as much influence as anyone on the shaping of my adolescent faith. It reacquaints me with his prophetic impact on a generation of mostly young Christians in this country and the United Kingdom.
Like many prophets, Keith Green saw matters in black and white. Like many, his preference for the short, sharp shock over against conversation and process galvanized many of his listeners into a depth of commitment to Christ that might not have happened otherwise. It alienated others, who might have become friends.
Like many prophets, his impact was for a moment. Like many, he died suddenly and young.
Like some, his legacy endures--arguably--because its more extreme impulses were not allowed the years in which they might have grown into something uglier, something destructive, something vain.
In consequence, his songs wash over this reviewer with a potency that is difficult to reduce to description. Time and again, Green picked up on a theme, set it to music, and brought it across in a more relational, intimate, transparent mode than seemed possible. In that way, too, he was a prophet. Like one of those wandering 'men of God', his proximity to the divine mind and heart are almost spooky. Like them--his mission accomplished--he was quickly gone.
If there was a more powerful influence on what we now call Contemporary Christian Music, I cannot imagine who that would be. Keith Green handed us a precedent made of words, expressions, a penchant for exhortation while there is still time that continue to flow into the work of artists as diverse as Twila Paris, Delirious?, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Chris Tomlin.
Green pushed at every boundary that ever appeared around him, driven by a near obsessive hunger to see others love Jesus as he himself did. He did not worry about offending if only some poor, homeless wretch might still be brought in.
He would have been hell to work with. Keith Green at faculty meeting? The horror ...
But when he spoke, back then, lots of us listened. Many of us chose. Many are still living out the implications of that choice, realizing in retrospect that God used an imperfect spokesman to say something better to us than even this passionate troubador knew he spoke.
Like prophets do.
excellent!.......2007-02-06
While the music itself(by modern standards) may be considered easy listening, the lyrics are hard hitting meat and potatoes. You know exactly where he stands and where we ought to. The praise is just that too.
Some of the best music in History.......2007-01-28
Keith Green was God's chosen instrument to sing truly life changing, God glorifying songs that edify and open the hearts of believers to Worship the Lord. I thank God for this compilation of tremendously wonderful songs that soften my heart and bring tears to my eyes whenever I listen to them. This compilation and the 80-82 cds as well are my favorite music of all time from any genre! I whole-heartedly recommend this album and any of Keiths albums to all who want to come closer to the Lord.
Keith Green "Ministry Yrs- '77 - 79' ".......2007-01-05
Keith Green excelled at integrating 'popular folk' sounds into Gospel. It was unique because for one Keith was blessed with an unusual ability to seemingly be adept at singing on the high end of Tenor reaching well above where most could reach, and his 'sound' was undeniable of that ability. He both wrote & composed his own songs which although to his credit, do not present a wide variety of style, exposure, or influence other than what was his signature sound. His anthology contained here represent his legacy well, but realizing his career was cut very short after contracting cancer. His Strong points continue to be the integrity in which he lived matched Closely to the themes of which he sang. Also his passion and love for his LORD was undeniable throughout his repertoire. This is a very good listen, not so much for Keith's creativity, but for the content which consistently ran strong to encourage those who make think themselves unable to reach God;Keith's testimony is one that protrays Jesus, as his Redeemer, Lord, Advocate & Friend.
His songs convey a 'Real' relationship with God that is both powerful and unbreakable.
A never ending ministry.......2006-12-25
God brings certain people into this world for a reason. Keith Green didn't leave his own mark, but delivered God's timeless message through his music. Through his musical ministry you can feel his passion and love for Christ is real. He believed what he said and practiced what he preached. Every time I listen to his music, I feel his energy and passion for God and can't help but be touched my it. The difference is, the music and words make me think of Christ and his selfless love for the world. It isnlt just another "hey that's a great song." There is substance and meaning. I can't help but think that this God fearing and exceptional man was taken home so soon because our heavenly father felt this world wasn't good enough for such a devoted Christian. His work will live on because it is God's will.

This is a brilliant hybrid of electronic music and conventional guitar-heavy rock. The first three tracks in particular pound out the overall method: furious, punk-metal guitars over slamming, machinelike rhythms. This release exemplifies Al Jourgensen's and Paul Barker's skill at producing remarkably creative musical aggression. "You Know What You Are" and the album's title track are fist-in-the-air electro-anthems upon first listen. But upon closer scrutiny, the songs reveal themselves to be works of complex sonic architecture, with components drawn from a wide variety of sources. The same is also true with "Flashback," a techno-punk foray into loosely controlled fury. --Mark McCleerey

Soundtrack to Ayatollah Reagan's era.......2007-06-21
If you'll permit me to describe Al & Paul's playful and irritatingly sweet-natured goth-pop of old as a waterfight at a Cathloic school fete, then the sheer industrial malevolence of LORAH, for that is her cutely abbreviated name, is something akin to a coke-fuelled shooting rampage at a Texan (or possibly Arabian) military academy.
With half the songs being decent and the rest excellent, Ministry's first "proper" album influenced countless industrial acts to follow, though none have as yet come close to imitating this most abrasive of sonic barrages. The title track and You Know What You Are are particularly violent, consisting of drumming assaults so explosive they'd put an artillery unit to shame. The latter also boasts some frightening gargled vocals through a distortion pedal, barely human but addictive nonetheless.
Other songs which threaten to devastate the tiny Middle Eastern cities of your eardrums include the irate thrashalongs of Missing and Deity. These ignite for the first time the oil fires of uber-processed heavy metal guitars; this particular strain of jet-black smoke would burn for a long time in the desert sky of Ministry's dystopian battleground.
Once the apocalyptic sandstorm subsides, the headache will linger on for a good few weeks. Enjoy it like a rivet.
Time to review the best album ever made........2007-03-22
Quite possibly the best and most influential industrial album ever. When I go to Ministry concerts nowadays I'm usually disappointed that I don't hear more songs from this album. Maybe one song (or two if your lucky). Al Jourgensen is usually too busy playing songs from his most recent albums which will never be as good or as CLASSIC as the songs from this one. Don't misunderstand me, some of his later material is okay, but it will never top Land of Rape and Honey.
This album is one of the top five industrial albums ever. How many bands were influenced by this one since 1988? I'm sure it's a lot. Ministry has had at least three tribute albums for @#$!s sake! Maybe more by now, I don't know. Other old skool bands are lucky to have one! Even if they ARE good.
Hopefully I'm not wasting my time here. If you're reading this review then you ARE familiar with Ministry and probably already have this album. But if you are among the uninformed younger generation that was born after this album was made and you actually think 'Linkin Biscuit' and 'Hootie blew my Fish' is good music, then it's time for you to be educated.
'Land of Rape and Honey' by 'Ministry'. Own it. Buy it, keep it, nuff said.
Brilliant.........2007-03-19

Good god...........2006-10-03
There are just too many close minded morons on this site, who can never try something different.
Dear Dr. Sniv, you really don't know s**t about industrial rock, it's not like thrash metal where you shred on the guitar as fast as possible and make solos that are about 1/3 of the whole song. I'm also a huge fan of Slayer and Sepultura. But Ministry is SUPPOSED to sound weird, pr!ck.
"The Land of rape and Honey" is possibly Ministry's best album. Songs like "Stigmata" and "Hizbolla" show how original Ministry is. I wont make it long but my favorite song on here is the title song, though.
So Sniv, next time review something you have a little comprehension of, until then, just shut up (the same thing goes for Rammstein).
Unadulterated rage.......2006-09-24
30 seconds of a curious ticking noise, followed by a shriek so extremely distorted and chaotic as to destroy speakers at high volume. Such is the beginning of Ministry's "Land of Rape and Honey". It's funny imagining what fans of the synth pop and subdued electro records "With Sympathy and "Twitch" faces looked like when they pushed play for the first time. Whatever the reason, this album marks the abrupt transition into the Ministry we know and love today.
"The Land of Rape and Honey" is violent, about as violent as any album can be. One gets the impression that the walls of endlessly looping distorted drum machines and screams contained herein were really more meant to beat the listener senseless than hypnotize into some sort of trance like the heroin induced ramblings of later albums.
This album makes it on attitude alone. There is little to no melody or musicality in any of these tracks. Some of the rhythms can even be classified as inane, such as the simple alternate snare and bass throughout the whole of "The Missing". Guitar work is redundant and simple.
Al's vocals follow little structure, one scream after another, occasionally avoiding even rhythm ("Stigmata"), but they get the point across- anger. A hell of a lot of it.
"Stigmata" (10/10) An industrial classic if there ever was one. Grinding synth sounds combined with a 2 chord main riff, then alternated with totally insane verses ("Choke on glass"). The chant "You have empty eyes" is both the finale and the highlight.
"The Missing" (9/10) A metal oriented tune with great riffs and some fantastic harmonizing leads in the chorus. Very epic and very fast. Short and sweet. The drum parts are lacking in groove and complexity.
"Deity" (10/10) Thrashy and melodic, an absolute anthem and one of the best tracks Ministry has ever produced. Metallic, but not in the same way as "The Mind" or "Psalm". Unique in the catelogue.
"Golden Dawn" (10/10) Groovey bass driven instrumental with some background guitar harmonics and lots of good sample splicing. This album marks Al's best use of spliced samples for rhythmic effect. "You have been found guilty of commerce with the devil", "Confess, confess!".
"Destruction" (7/10) Another instrumental with a simple, loping rhythm that loops throughout. Overlaid are far away sounding distorted chants of "DESTRUCTION!", scrapes and feedback. Harsh and powerful, but there isn't much at all going on.
"Hizbollah" (10/10) The middle eastern title fits well with this track. A more developed primal, tribal sort of rhythm with some heavy, menacing synth work and samples of something being said in Arabic. A heavy, melodic instrumental.
"The Land of Rape and Honey" (9/10) Militant and march like, 16th note harsh synths over heavy drum tracks. Al's screaming vocals re-enter the album here, "Face to face, blood to blood". The sampling going on here is subtle genious, increasing the mood of the song substantially. Hiss noises provide still more atmosphere. Doesn't really progress during the duration, it's verse after verse. "In the land of rape and honey, you PRAY."
"You Know What You Are" (10/10) Similar to the title track in rhythm and overall sound, the harsh, angry vocals and samples (of maniacal laughing) push this one to a higher level. The voice is so drenched in distortions that you can barely make out the words.
"I Prefer" (6/10) Frantic and fast paced synth and some cleaner monotone vocals chanting. Very little going on musically, and very short. Not at all a memorable song.
"Flashback" (10/10) Quite possibly the most absolutely furious song I've ever heard, distorted blasting percussion and spliced sampling loops relentlessly for 4 minutes over which Al spews line after line of tortures and humiliations he's going to inflict on a certain individual, punctuated by a 'chorus' of "I HATE HER" (and sometimes 'him'). "I'm gonna make you suffer, and WATCH YOU DIE!" Insanity that it's hard to overstate.
"Abortive" (7.5/10) A quiet and very out of place instrumental with some interesting bass and rhythm tracks. A sort of atmospheric chillout song.
While it isn't totally consistent, "Land of Rape and Honey" is one of the angriest albums ever recorded and very influential besides. Recommended.

This was the record that definitively turned Ministry from an electro-industrial dance band into a cutting-edge metal act. With distorted vocals, pounding drum machines, and ripping guitar chords, songs like "Thieves" and "Burning Inside" merged computer technology with metallic riffology, setting the pace for dozens of second-rate computer nerds to follow. --Jon Wiederhorn

One of the greatest albums ever!.......2007-06-24
If your new to the industrial metal genre of music, all I can say, is that this is essential. This is one of the most important rock albums ever as far as I'm conscerned, but certainly one of the most important metal albums in the industrial scene. Songs like "Breathe", "So What", and "Burning Inside" are amongst the many killer tracks on this five star album that never tires your ears. I love it now, I loved it than, and I will always love it. So will you.
Get it here - only partially available through iTunes........2006-10-28
Others have already pointed out that this is a terrific album, it's honestly one of Ministy's best but if you were thinking you'd just pop over to iTunes and get it there be aware that they only have a partial album available for you to download. Get it here. If you buy the partial album through iTunes you'll miss out on 'So What!' which is truly a milestone in the legacy of Minitry's best.
great album.......2006-07-08
This is one of the best albums from Ministry. Along with of course Psalm 69, and Houses of The Mole. For those of you wondering, I think that beautiful singing heard in the background of "Dream Song" is Bulgarian choir singing. That's probably my favorite track too. I agree with the reviewer who said it's mesmerizing. An incredible mix of electronics and Bulgarian choirs. My other favorite tracks are Burning Inside, the strange Cannibal Song, and So What. Pick up this album if you're a Ministry fan! Laters.
Classic .......2006-03-07
If you were not around when this first came out, you will never understand the intensity that it signified. There were hard groups, but nothing that sounded like this cd did. After The Land of Rape and Honey, which was just as great, there was something missing in the whole "industrial" scene. This filled the gap, and lost the "disco" edge and lameness that had become of the scene before and after this release. Pure class, get it no matter what.
Terrible to taste, good to hear........2006-01-31
There are some album covers you can look at, and just know the music within is going to be hard and heavy. This is obviously one of those albums. Some may argue, but I believe more than other bands, and even more than Ministry's prior album, this is when industrial and metal came perfectly together. Sure there's a few repetitive low-points, but the majority of this album is like a punch to the face. The opener "Thieves" with it's power-drill sample sets the tone, and "Burning Inside" and "Never Believe" take it from there. The next powerhouse is "Breathe", which leads to the climax of the album "So What", which includes the choice lyrics "I only kill, to know I'm alive". These tracks aren't simply heavy, they're also well written, and basically catchy. "Test" even makes rap sound good. I recommend a proper stereo for this.

In-Your-Face Razor Blade........2007-07-07
Smackingly hard rocking. Knew Al in Chicago, he was in Special Effects. He worked at a record store, I DJ'd at Northwestern. Every time we met, he was torqued, happy.
For starters, track one: "Rio Grande Blood." It's like the album -- high-electric. Right away, Ministry (Al) punches into NBC's three-tone marque of yesteryear with uncannily sweet chunk guitar phrasing. The record's an ecastatic sonic assault, fantastic for dancing.

I love Ministry!.......2007-06-23
This is kind of a seqaul to the previous Ministry album, and I like it just as much. Another stab at the conservative majority. Al Jourgensen blends hard hitting Industrial metal with political angst to a omnious effect. Strong and explicit lyrical content and fast, fast, music. Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedy's) also makes a small guest appearence on the song "A## Clown". My fovorite tracks on this album are "Lies, Lies, Lies,", and "Great Satan". Another adrenaline pumping metal classic by Ministry.

Don't listen to me, listen to ur head.

Killer!.......2007-06-21
Ministry is back again with a hardcore industrial metal anthem that burns a hole on the white house carpet. This is an excelent follow up album to the prior release (house of the mole), another Bush bashing anti-conservative album with intelligent lyrics, aggressive guitars, and one helluva great live show. If your pro-Bush, you'll hate this record...otherwise, do get a copy. It's well worth it's price in full.
No parking for Illuminati at any time.......2007-06-06
This music should be duty in every classroom instead of the national
anthem and morning prayer!!! Hey Al thanks again for kickin' George W's
bud and all Neocon Evildoers...Remember here: WE LOVE MINISTRY!!!
