Nice Unmixed CD Full Of Hits.......2004-04-24
The first CD from the world's largest mainstream dance award ceremony, Dancestar Radio Hits 2004 features one floor-filler after another. 5,000 people attended 2003's award show in Miami, 800 million watched it on television worldwide, and Dancestar's licensing department seems all the stronger because of it. These are all big hits from the mainstream side of dance, there's no cheating there, but they are unmixed and almost all presented in their shorter "radio edits". If that doesn't matter to you, dig in. Plenty of the tracks appropriate pop tunes and turn them into giant anthems. Angel City cop a bit of Ready for the World's "Oh Sheila", LMC use U2's "With Or Without You" as a foundation, and Dannii Minogue takes the better part of Madonna's "Into the Groove". The influence of electro and electro-clash is strong with Benny Benassi, Tocadisco, and Ferry Corsten all adding some much needed grit to the collection. Punk Division's take on the White Stripe's "Seven Nation Army" and the Crystal Method's "Born Too Slow bring the disc to a rocking and stomping finish.

Not half bad.......2006-04-16
It's always a mixed bag when you pick up a various artist dance CD because there are always those "filler" people that you've never heard of and probably will never hear from again.
I'm happy to report that at least 90% of the songs on this CD set kick booty! Even the ones from folks that I'd never heard of Kevin Lyttle.
Most of these songs I heard in some of the clubs in Chicago last year. I was impressed with this CD set and that's hard to do.
Not so great, SPG........2005-11-12
...Okay, let's start with the negatives:
SPG's Club Hits series is just getting worse. It started to get bad around Club Hits 2003, which was only about half bad, but I'm just suprised by the decrease of good songs. Club Hits 2002 is my favorite CD in the whole world, and this is supposed to be a sequel? According to the editorial review, there are 2 1/2 hours of "today's clubbin' anthems," and it says this on the CD as well. PSH! Yeah right! The two discs total up to approximately 101 minutes altogether, which is quite a bit less than 2 hours. And lastly, some of the songs just plain stink. I recognize lots of the artists on here, such as Robbie Rivera, Benny Benassi, and Junior Jack. Their songs are just getting worse as time goes by as well. I liked their earlier stuff rather than what's on here.
The Positives...
There are some good songs here such as M1's "Don't Fake the Funk," which is probably my favorite. There are other good ones like Despina Vandi's "Gia" as well. The Boogie Pimps are okay also.
Another thing about this set is that a large amount of the songs on the second disc are either by Benny Benassi or is a remix from him. So I would highly reccommend this set to anyone who is a Benny Benassi fan. Otherwise, it's a waste of money which you could be using to get the earlier Club Hits series.
