5 out of 5 stars this feel-good record is one of the best .......2006-11-03

Ok, if you're interested in this you are either a long-time Bananarama fan(in which case you neeed to buy it), or you've heard a couple of the songs on satellite radio or in a club/bar(in which case you need to buy it). Keep in mind the versions of some of these songs you will hear in the clubs are not the album versions, but it doesn't matter. This album is fantastic. Any fan of electronic/dance music should own this asap! This is very similar to Dannii Minogue's "Neon Nights" in both production value and lyrical content. It's often compared to Madonna's "Confessions", but "Drama" is much more light-hearted and happier in comparisson with the dark, serious moments of "Confessions". Almost every track on "Drama" references dancing, nightlife, or unbridled love. The upbeat songs are so engrossing that I always skip over the 2 slower tracks, "Waterfall" and "Middle of Nowhere". They just seem a little out of place here. The two bonus tracks at the end(remixes of previous hits) are ok when you're in the mood for something a little heavier and more dance club/circuit party-ish. The fluffier sound from the rest of the songs on the CD isn't present on these final two.

4 out of 5 stars Electronica Extravaganza!!.......2006-08-07

What a surprisingly GOOD release for the 80s veterans! I bought this album purely because it was Bananarama. I'm so glad I did. This is actually one of their best releases ever. It's consistent, catchy and keeps in line with the current trend of pop music (more down the dance/electronica venue).

Nearly all of the album is a highlight, but Lovebite, Hypnotic Tango, Move In My Direction, Rules of Attraction and Your Love Is Like A Drug really stand out. Another song, that is particularly strange, yet addictive is Waterfall. The overbearing synth work makes this a joy to listen to, just because it's so out there...it's really fresh!

My only complaint on this recording is that the songs lead the vocals instead of the vocals leading the songs. Listen to the older Bananarama material. Their singing leads, but this is not the case here. I know you have to give up a little bit with the electronica format, but it's a little bit of shame because the girls DO have good voices.

Bottom line: This is a no-brainer purchase! Get it today!

4 out of 5 stars Fun and creative dance album! .......2006-07-25

Madonna needs to watch out for a second, because Bananarama could be the other '80s artist to recall their dance roots in a big way! I love Bananarama's new album, Drama! Move In My Direction is good, but the rest of the album outdoes it by many miles! This album is just loaded with catchy rhythms, dance grooves and other exciting twists within the 11 new songs! It steers more toward the electronica sound Madonna did on her 1998 and 2000 albums on some numbers. Don't Step in My Groove is the catchiest! Very close to 1978-79 disco on that number. Runners up include Look on the Floor, Frequency, Feel for You, Your Love is Like a Drug and I Love the Way. I haven't heard the two remixes of 12 and 13 because I wanted to focus on the new songs. Smartly the now two-member group keep the songs to a 3 to 3 1/2 minute limit, with a few going back 4 minutes. But they pack as much into the songs to keep the listener entertained. The two slower songs, including the acoustic, tropical Middle of Nowhere, are nicely done. Their writing is just as interesting too. I didn't follow their '90s output as much after their '80s albums, but this is some of their best music in their 2 decades of recording.

4 out of 5 stars Pleased with Bananarama's newest album.......2006-05-29

As a fan since I was a teen back in the 80's I know Bananarama's music well. I really like their new album, but would have liked to have seen a more exciting cover photo. Also the only thing that could have made the album better of course would be Siobhan Fahey taking part, hopefully someday that happens would mean alot to all us fans. I really like the song Move In My Direction, very modern sound, very catchy. My favorite album of all by them still is Bananarama from 1984 that had great songs like The Wild Life, Hotline To Heaven, Cruel Summer, ect. But this new album does not dissapoint.....now I want to see it hit the charts here in America and for them to get some the radio hits over here, they so deserve it. I really hated it when they tried to replace Siobhan with that one lady, glad she left, either have all 3 of them or just Keren and Sara, but don't try to throw in some imposter.

3 out of 5 stars Watch You Don't Slip On The Groove.......2006-05-16

As a UK Bananarama fan i thought it would be a good place and time to review this album.
Firstly Bnanarama had hits in the UK from 1981-1993 they never had a #1 over here but in the US they hit the top with venus UK #8.
In 2005 for the first time since 1993 Bnanarama released a new single in the UK it was Move In My Direction it peaked at #14 and was a huge club hit.The follow up Look On The Floor(Hypnotic Tango) was also a minor hit #26.A third single Lovebite was cancelled as the album only reached a dissapointing UK #169.They have had some success around the world and heres hoping that the album, which isnt brilliant but is fairly good for 2 forty-somethings that have been in the same group for 25 years, does well in the USA.

5 out of 5 stars !!!5 STAR SINGER!!!.......2004-06-22

hey guyes,
I LOVE Graig David,he rocks,he is the coolest I LOVE him...I expecially LOVE his cd Born To Do It I LOVE IT...yes,yes i know you might be thinking that the word I LOVE IT is my favorite word but it is not...anyways sence I LIKE Graig David I give him my 5 STAR(SINGER).... :)

5 out of 5 stars The Man.......2002-08-27

Craig Daivid is a very powerful voice and he has such divercity, mixing hip hop, rap, and r+b all togeather to get a buch of hit songs and plus my wife gets all hot and bothered when i sing her his songs, lokking forward to the next cd he produces!

5 out of 5 stars I WOULD GIVE IT 10 STARS IF I COULD!.......2001-10-11

Let me tell you, I have listened to this over and over and over, this cd is it! Craig can put you to sleep, make lyrical love to you and get you partying all at the same time!

My favorite? It's hard to say, I love the whole album, but I have to say that "Can't be Messing Around", "7 Days" and definitely "Walking Away". Craig is not what you would call a "Traditional" R&B singer, but he has that feel good kind of voice that you would love to listen to when you are feeling good and want something mellow. I travel with his CD in my car at all times.

The fact that Craig is fine as hell doesn't hurt either!! :)

3 out of 5 stars Don't buy this if you think you are getting 2-step.......2001-07-23

I was suckered into thinking that this may be 2-step hitting the states and going mainstream, because of the heavy rotation of Craig David's Fill me in. Given he does have a great voice, don't buy this if you are looking for 2-step; you will be surely disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars ***OUTSTANDING DEBUT CD BY CRAIG DAVID***.......2001-06-15

The first time I heard Southampton singer Craig David was when he was topping the UK charts with the Artful Dodger (in collaboration with producer Mark Hill) in the hit RE-REWIND. Back then, most people were predicting big things for him and it now seems that they were right on the money. With the release of his maiden album which stormed the charts last year, he has proved himself to be a phenomenal success.

I can't really put my finger on just what is so unique about Craig David. However, having seen him perform live at the Brit Awards 2000 in Feb 2001 (which he was summarily snubbed, up for 6 awards and went away empty-handed), it was plain to see that he has loads of charisma, oozes SEX APPEAL from every pore, AND possesses all that incredible drive and musical artistry on stage-AWESOME! His blend of music is a bit of everything ranging from UK 2 step garage to R&B to soul to hip-hop to pop. Usually not a keen listener of the former, I was grabbed from the first by his catchy tunes, great vibes and his groovy moves.

With UK hit singles FILL ME IN and 7 DAYS under his belt, Craig David is now ready to be the NEXT BIG BRITISH INVASION since the Spice Girls to cross the Atlantic to America. Watch out! BORN TO DO IT is an excellent debut CD that possesses a good mixture of slow ballads and fast numbers to suit your palette. His songs about the trials/heartbreak of meeting/leaving girls (he's only 20!) are sure to touch a chord with his many potential listeners.

One outstanding track of the album is WALKING AWAY, which Craig croons so soulfully in his silky voice and sure to attract an enormous crowd of screaming female fans over there. This song has been enjoying an enormous amount of airplay here since its release (I even have the single with all its remixes) and is a huge favorite on the dedication program on the radio. Other noteworthy mentions: TIME TO PARTY, a fast track that will get you right into the party mood, RENDEZVOUS (Craig's personal favorite), YOU KNOW WHAT, LAST NIGHT, CAN'T BE MESSING AROUND and REWIND. In fact, the beat is so tight on this disc, you won't soon run out of songs to rave about. His musical idol/influence being R Kelly, Craig's songs are reminiscent of Kelly at times.

Do yourself a big favor, run don't walk to the stores now to get this CD before they run out of stocks! `Cause when the secret's out, there won't be many left on the shelves. Tired of all those everyday run-of-the-mill balladeers/rappers? Fret no more. Get two copies of the album, and your mate will love you for introducing him/her to such a fresh new voice in the R&B/rap/hip-hop genre. If you only get one CD this year, make it this, as it is truly a worthy buy. Listen to BORN TO DO IT and you will be singing along to the melodies in no time at all. Craig David is an amazing talent for someone so young; I can only imagine how big he's going to become when he eventually breaks into the US markets. By then, America would know what Asia and Europe had known all along-that Craig David is BORN TO DO IT, and proud of it. RECOMMENDED.

5 out of 5 stars german only cd with full length mix of Thunderpuss........2002-07-11

This is the German cd single that I'm sure most people are buying because it features the 9:17 mix by Thunderpuss of "No More Drama" which is all DRAMA in its remix form. It starts out fast then the hip hop of the original kicks in with Mary J. testifing to her fans of her new found sobriety and then the music picks up one more time and all gospel hell breaks loose. One of her best songs ever as well as one of Thunderpuss' best remix efforts ever! Just gorgeous.

      5 out of 5 stars Mary J. Blige - Remixed by Thunderpuss!.......2002-06-16

Who knew that Thunderpuss (Chris Cox and Barry Harris) could remix the Queen of Hip Hop Soul and pull it off so spectacularly? Well, they say miracles do happen, and I am proud to report that they did an incredible job! Thunderpuss gives the gritty song a housed-up groove that's unmistakedly their sound, but also nicely compliments Mary J's soulful voice. There's also the dynamite original version produced by Jam and Lewis, but the highlight is definitely Thunderpuss's remix. Bravo to Mary J., Cox, and Harris!

4 out of 5 stars Mary J. Blige- No More Drama [CD-SINGLE] [ENHANCED] [IMPORT].......2002-05-21

Mary J. Blige, with a hit album, a hot single, and a now-fixed and well life, she's finally got it all together, and this is what "No More Drama" is all about. This single is full of everything for everybody. Although only 4 tracks, these tracks give great entertainment to the listener. The new remixes from Number 1 mixers like Thunderpuss, and new-comers, "Twin Disco", it makes a very cool song, even better.

      1. No More Drama (Radio Version) - With a soap opera theme in the beginning, it automactically made me think, "dramatic". Which this is, but very different in a sense. This song reflects on how MJB is going to change her life, and live her own way. I love this. - 5 Stars - A+

      2. Twin Disco Experience Remix Edit - A radio edit of a club mix, that transforms this Mary J. Blige classic. Instead of the R&B/Pop tune, it takes the song into a new level, 'Disco'. Which I thought, was dead and buried, but this remix is full of life, and it is kickin! Very cool! It is one of the many remixes that I love. - 5 Stars - A

      3. Thunderpuss Anthem Mix - This Remix is VERY aggressive on the beats. Full of synths, and bouncing drums, it makes this song really cool. It's very hard-beat, trance in a way, but still keeping a very cool Thunderpuss remix feel. It's awesome! The best on the Single. - 5 Stars - A++

      4. No More Drama (Video) - The video for the song, which feautres Mariah Carey and P. Diddy on TV Screens, singing along with Mary J., on the song. The video has meaning for these two singing, because all of the "drama" they have been through, along with Blige. I love this video! - 5 Stars - A-

This CD has 3 tracks. The first track Hip Hop is very good with a deep evil base that goes right through you. The multimedia video of that same track is also very good, has a revolutionary let's get straight feel about it. Dead Prez are very refreshing compared to the mainstream glitzy, fake and lazy hip hop that seem to just flood the market. Get this CD!

What a shame: This awesome performance is marred by sound "quality" that barely matches that of a mediocre bootleg. The first few tracks sound as if the recorder was concealed in a coffee can. After that it gets better, but beware intermittent channel dropouts and muffled passages. Still, the performance itself is stunning, marked by killer versions of Natty Dread and Zion Train. If you're a serious Marley collector, it's probably worth the loot, but if you're looking for a quality portrayal of the surreal mystical event that was a Marley concert, you'd be better off with Live! or Babylon by Bus.

        5 out of 5 stars Must Own.......2005-05-18

I will agree that sometimes the sound quality is as though someone in the back half of the audience is holding up a tape recorder up with his hands, but the sound quality does improve as the show goes on. True Marley fans will appreciate this show as it was Marleys biggest show with over 100,000 people in attendance, and I feel that it was the greatest setlist of any Marley tape I've heard. It's true that you can get other CD's with the same songs of better sound quality but for real Marley lovers this is a must own.

2 out of 5 stars terrble recording job.......2003-11-03

need i say more? the great bob marley sounds flat and muttered. only for the most avid completist . "live at the roxy" is beautiful or "live" or "babylon by bus" or "legend live" on dvd.but this is terrible.
