Whatever happened to the OLD Xzibit when he was in his PRIME!!?? Yo this album is maddd whack!! I know he's got the lyrical skill, and I respect him for that but every emcee knows that you need good rhymes AND BEATZ. When hip hop started...it was ALLLLL about the beatz. I'm only feelin 5 songs on this album. Only tight songs are #'s 2,7,8,9,and 16. Don't waste your time on listening to all the other commercialized SELL OUT beatz! Yo Xzibit, I got some advice....take us back to your ALKAHOLIKZ Roots...Remember them days?? Tha alkaholikz and Xzibit...wasn't that great? I only recommend Xzibit's first 3 albums. Xzibit doesn't have any other good albums other than his first 3. And yo.....even his third album "Restless"..THAT one was even leaning more towards the mainstream commercialized diarrhea bullcrap. But it was still aaight. It passes. But I recommend y'all DEFINATELY go cop "At the speed of Life" and "40 Dayz & 40 Nightz". Those first two albums was when X to tha Z was at his Prime! And he showed respect to the Underground! Keep it tight y'all, and Don't sell out. Peacey Wease.

2 out of 5 stars Just Doesn't Deliver..........2006-02-13

Like most people, the first time I ever heard of Xzibit was on the MTV show "Pimp My Ride" which he hosts (A great show). After hearing "Hey Now" on the radio, and being a huge rap fan, I decided to try out "Weapons of Mass Destruction", which was reviewed to be a pretty good album. I was lucky I could find it at a used CD store for five or six bucks, because it never made it out of my car. After listening to the entire album on the way home (I was on a businees trip) I threw it in the trunk, not planning to take it out again.

Xzibit is not really that bad of a rapper. His street-hardened lyrics combined with his angry delivery are nice to hear, along with a storytelling talent ("Cold World") that most rappers today lack. The problem is that the production and flow of the album are some of the worst I have heard in years. Literally every song on the CD contains these super-annoying R&B type choruses that ruin the entire track. "Ride and Die" and "Crazy Ho" are some of the worst. His selection of guest artists are weak also, featuring none of the rappers that could have filled in the empty space that X left, such as Ludacris. "Hey Now (Mean Muggin')" is probably the best song on the album, and the only one I could really listen to with any respect. But even that one is miles behind any other big rapper today. And how in the world is "Muthaf**ker" featured as a single? It's easily one of the worst songs I have ever heard in my life, seriously.

The bottom line: Xzibit has some potenial, but he just doesn't use it. He needs to ante'-up his arsonal and get some new choruses, cutting the singing. As for this album: Trust me, its a waste of money.

4 out of 5 stars Won't Do Mass Destruction, But Will Still Cause Damage (Rating: 8 out of 10- -4 stars).......2006-01-20

Around the time when this album was released, I was really skeptical about what Xzibit was going to bring to the table with "Weapons Of Mass Destruction". At that time, I only heard "Restless" (2000) which was decent, and then "Man Vs. Machine" (2002) which was horrible. Somehow Xzibit became one of my favorite rappers within that time period, possibly becasue he made an impact being a featured artist on another album (see Snoop Dogg's "B Please" and anything he has made with Tha Alkaholiks). After deciding to download the album, I thought it was real impressive, and about a week later I purchased it.

With "Weapons Of Mass Destruction", a lot of people claim that X's lyrics have been slipping. The album opens up with a well manipulated voiced speech from George Bush. I have to admit that that is true throughout portions of this album, but at the same time, he manages to get his point across. "Cold World", he becomes political exlaing evil that goes on within people's lives. While on "Tough Guy", he and Busta Rhymes go on a thugged out cut that sounds good to me.

Xzibit introduces his new group Strong Arm Steady who inhabits most of this album as well. The problem with that group is the songs that they are on are either hit or miss. Some songs that hit are "Saturday Night Live" and the second single "Criminal Set". My favorite song on here would be "Klack" which features Krondon from the group which is very nice to listen to. The songs that miss are the "Beware Of Us" because it sounds kind of weak, and "Crazy Ho" would be another skippable track. The latter song Xzibit doesn't even appear on.

As for anything else bad. Some of the production wouldn't appeal to many listeners, but I find it to be good. And "LAX" is another track that I found forgettable. Also I found the lead single "Hey Now" kind of weak, but I can still listen to it every once and a while. And if you're a long time fan, you'll notice that guest appearances from anyone from the Likwit Family is greatly missed. Other than that, I find this album to be a good effort from Xzibit. People claim that this isn't a good CD. I admit, it's not Xzibit's best, but it is more consistant than some of his albums throughout his career. If you haven't heard this, give it a try and hear how it sounds. There may be some low points throughout this CD, but it is one I can still listen all the way through from time to time.

4 out of 5 stars Xzibit ----- Weapons of Mass Destruction.......2006-01-12

Xzibit sold out! That is what many fans have been saying since Mr. Pimp My Ride has blown up on a national level the past two years. Now back with his fifth album, Weapons Of Mass Destruction (Sony), Xzibit is out to prove that he has not forgotten where he has come from and that he remains one of the West's premier emcees. Coming off of a sub par album is never easy, especially for Xzibit, as his 2002 release, Man Vs. Machine, was labeled by critics and fans alike as his weakest album. Thankfully, Xzibit has refocused and delivered a solid comeback effort with Weapons Of Mass Destruction. Following in the same light as 2000's Restless, his latest offering combines solid song making and satisfying production with Xzibit's trademark charisma on the mic.

This creative flare is never more evident than on X's fist single, "Hey Now". With Timbaland 's head nodding handclaps and Keri Hilson's insanely catchy hook, X delivers his best commercial track yet. But unlike his last album, Weapons Of Mass Destruction does not try to force the issue by regurgitating lame radio friendly singles over and over. Instead X shows more variety and steps outside of his comfort zone. The socially conscious "Cold World" finds X in storytelling mode, painting three diverse pictures of life and its harsh realities. From sexual harassment, to a drug deal gone wrong, to an Iraqi family stuck in the middle of President Bush's war, Xzibit is able to draw the listener in with each standout verse. On "Scent Of A Woman" X does what every great man should, by paying homage to the strong woman in his life. In addition, DJ Hi-Tek laces the track perfectly with his hard hitting drums and ambient violins.

While most of the album finds Xzibit flying solo, when he does stop to gather some help is when the album tends to falter. Busta Rhymes comes through for a formulaic sh*t talking effort on "Tough Guy", an awkward Hi-Tek produced track that finds the duo rocking over an irritating Oompa Loompa backdrop. In addition, Xzibit's Strong Arm Steady Crew fails to impress with their generic offerings throughout the album. The gun busting tales of "Beware Of Us" suffers from X's singsong hook and each emcees lackluster verse. Things do not get any better on "Crazy Ho", another b*tches ain't sh*t influenced track that is almost common place among West Coast albums for the past ten years.

With Weapons Of Mass Destruction, Xzibit proves that his new found fame has not gone to his head. Mr. X to the Z is still capable of producing solid albums, and after eight years in the game, that is all you can ask for.

5 out of 5 stars Stunning No Need For That Idiot Belladonna.......2006-10-08

Most people think that belladonna is the best anthrax vocalist. This is not true he is an awful singer. I recently listened to some of his best stuff with anthrax its terrible. This album with the best singer John Bush (IMO) is brilliant. You cant fault it he is way better than belladonna. Just listen to John Bush on Caught in A Mosh compared to Joey Belladonna so dont listen to anyone who says otherwise. Everthing else about Anthrax is also stunning, just listen to the DRumming(Amazing) and the guitars sound Brilliant.
BUY THIS ITS BRILLIANT EVEN IF YOUR NOT A FAN OF ANTHRAX
      THATS HOW GOOD THIS IS

      5 out of 5 stars awesome.......2004-12-28

I became an Anthrax fan from the first notes of Potters Field from Sound of White Noise. How could something sound so heavy? It was awesome. I loved the first Bush era album, and then came Stomp which was a setback. Volume 8 was awesome, and the new cd We've come for you all is pretty awesome as well. This live album captures a rare feeling in which an entire crowd is so into the performance that their singing overcomes the band. Its pretty awesome sounding. The DVD that came with this is pretty cool as well. The album is pretty awesome. I wish the performance of Bring the noise from the dvd was on the cd, but that's okay. Great cd to jam in the car.

5 out of 5 stars John Bush Rules!!!!!!!!!.......2004-11-02

Unlike this New York Wigger Clown who probably wears his Yankees hat sideways and says yo yo dawg. And was too much of a coward to leave his ID. The fact is without John Bush today it would be Anthrax who? With John in the band they rock harder and more melodic than they ever did. He should just stick to M&M and F-off. P.S. Armored Saint is 10,000 times the Heavy Metal Band that Anthrax will ever be!!! And if any more members of Armored Saint go over to help Anthrax out because there members keep dropping like flies then they should change the name to Anthrax Saint!!!

4 out of 5 stars IF JOHN BUSH WASN'T WITH THEM IT WOULD BE 5.......2004-10-04

the album is great, anthrax finally has an official live album now. my only gripe against this and any other anthrax release in the 90'is john bush. sure, he works fine for bands like armored saint, but bush doesn't have the charisma of joe belladonna or the vocal power of neil turbin, hes just a generic vocalist, hell, not even a vocalist, he barely registers as a singer. well the hell did scott ian get rid of joe belladonna? surly the david lee roth of thrash metal for this john bush guy who doesn't even fit anthraxs music? thats the only thing i really don't like about this album, you have the rest of the band roaring and bush can't even catch his breath, he almost ruins classic anthrax songs because of his crap vocal ability (anthrax is one of those bands where the vocals are an important part of the music, and it takes a skilled vocalist to deliver the lyrics right) but that can be overlooked because the rest of the band is in such fine shape hear. buy it if you are in to anthrax, just be bewarned about bush.

3 out of 5 stars Something is missing.......2004-08-27

Seeing Anthrax live in the late 80's was a truly amazing experience. To this day I have never seen a band that played tighter than Anthrax did (the Among the Living tour stands out particularly for me in this respect). Being at an Anthrax show was like hanging out with a bunch of rowdy friends and breaking stuff.

For some reason, and I don't know what it is, on the "Persistence of Time" tour, the band started sounding a whole lot less tight. If you think I'm nuts saying this, try and get your hands on a copy of their old VHS show NFV from the Among tour and then a copy of their second live VHS from their tour with Public Enemy (the name of it eludes me) and you will see what I mean. By the way, that show from NFV NEEDS to be released on DVD. It was absolutely amazing how good they sounded.

The band got a shot in the arm again when John Bush joined the band and released "Sound of White Noise", which I feel is the band's best work and the tour for that record was unreal. I saw their show in Cleveland that year and it is still one of the top 5 concerts I've ever seen... and I've seen many.

I've seen them twice since that show and both times were mediocre at best. They're just not as fun as they used to be. I attribute part of that to the loss of Danny Spitz who always seemed to be having a lot of fun when he was on stage and was a heck of a lead guitarist to boot. Why they booted him, I'll never understand.

This DVD/CD combo isn't half bad. They do seem to be playing a bit tighter than when I've seen them (most recently in '02 opening for Judas Priest), but I think the song selection is the weakest part. They seem to be picking some of their most mediocre new stuff (though What Doesn't Die and Safe Home both sound great), and the old stuff are songs that they've had in their repertoire non-stop for well over 10 years in most cases. They need to mix it up a bit. The only true stand out track on this is "Be All, End All" mainly because I haven't heard it played live in years.

I'm hoping the day will come when I hear a live Anthrax CD (or DVD) where songs like "Panic", "Gung Ho", "Among the Living", "Black Lodge", "Tester" and some of their more obscure stuff takes the forefront again instead of hearing "Metal Thrashing Mad" and "Got the Time" for the 6000th time. I think that would bring me back to the die hard Anthrax fan I once was.

Mr. X to the Z is still capable of producing solid albums, and after eight years in the game, that is all you can ask for.

found out about this band while on cd baby. was looking for bands like iggy or iggy and the stooges. they came up, with a bunch of other really great bands. 5 of which i have since bought their cds. many thanks go to iggy. you just keep on showing how powerful YOUR music really is, and how much you have influenced fellow musicians. with cds like this you do not have a chance to pick apart each song. you just review the thing as a whole. well as a whole- amazing, powerful, directed, long lasting after effect, keep on dancing, wish it was put out in 1970. thanks guys for keeping garage rock alive, in the new age- rap. hope you are working on follow up cds. when are you getting your butts to new york to play.

I FOUND ABOUT AXIS OF EVIL WHILE BROWSING NOCTURNE'S MYSPACE PROFILE. I HEARD THE DOPE REMIX OF WHORE AND THOUGHT IT WAS FREAK'N SWEET. THERE ARE ONLY A COUPLE OF REMIXES I DON'T LIKE BUT ALL THE OTHERS ARE AWESOME.

5 out of 5 stars This CD kicks ass!.......2003-12-14

This is a kick ass CD! It is probably one of my favorite industrial CDs that I've even bought. I like almost every song on here. Nocturne totally kicks ass!!! People from bands like Bile, Pigface, and KMFDM who worked on this CD did a really fantastic job. If you like heavy, Nine Inch Nails style industrial music, then you will totally dig this CD!

5 out of 5 stars Buy this CD!!.......2003-12-11

My friend turned my on to Nocturne recently, and I love them! I have two of their CDs. This remix CD is awesome! All of my favorite songs from "Paradise Wasted" are on this CD, remixed by some really cool bands. I would tell anyone who is thinking about buying this CD to get it! Nocturne RULES!

5 out of 5 stars Axis of Evil CD - definitely worth getting.......2003-12-09

I really enjoyed this CD. I am a fan of Underground Inc, and Pigface, and this is yet another CD that has come out of the Underground Inc./Invisible Records label that is simply outstanding. Nocturne is a truly remarkable band.

      5 out of 5 stars Great re-mix CD.......2003-12-09

I really liked this CD. I don't usually buy remix CDs, but I like several of the bands who did remixes for Nocturne, so I thought I'd check it out. I loved Bile's remix of Nocturne's song "Happy", as well as En Esch's remix (formerly of KMFDM). Nocturne is one of my favorite bands, and the remix CD was definitely worth adding to my collection.

3 out of 5 stars Another mechanized assault.......2003-11-23

This recording just plain hurts. While this may be the update to the uber-classic "Scum" album from Napalm Death(with whom Justin played in their humble beginnings), I don't really believe that it has any implications of "future genre cornerstone" like the aforementioned. So what you get here is a whirlwind of thrash, punk, digital hardcore, a peppering of Godflesh-esque riffs, and tons of over-the-top distorted diatribes from JK Flesh and the man known as the Bug. These guys should need no introduction, but since the world is often more preoccupied with pomp than circumstance, suffice it to say that they are masters at their trade. This time around, instead of trippy drum loops and infinite remixes, they've distilled some seriously harsh socio-political rhetoric and set it to a sonic backdrop to incinerate your eardrums. The songs are generally quite fast, with some detours into straight up grind, but a lot of them hang around too long and the overall feel is somewhat samey. What they have done really well here is demonstrate just how close you can get to having a total noise wipeout on your record without ever crossing the line. The drums are very menacing, and sometimes they take over the song(a Broadrick trademark)in a fashion not unlike some of Agoraphobic Nosebleed's machine gun grind. Almost every sound you hear on this disc is distorted. While this makes for an impressively angry atmosphere, it is somewhat unlistenable. In my opinion, this record will appeal mostly to fans of Broadrick's work previous to this. Now all we have to do is sit around and twiddle our thumbs until he unveils Jesu, his newest project.

      5 out of 5 stars Massively Destructive.......2003-11-05

If you are are a fan of Justin Broadrick's many other projects and bands then this is a MUST. As soon as you put this cd on you can feel the sheer brutality as it pulses through your weak human veins. This album just completely destroys all the lame death metal out there that tries to be brutal. Very percussive and noisy with over the top vocals from Kevin Martin and Justin Broadrick. This is much different than the first Curse of the Golden Vampire cd as that one is more similar to Techno Animal. Both are highly reccomended!!! For other great sounds from J.K. Flesh check out The Sidewinder, Tech Level II, and the forthcoming Jesu album...

5 out of 5 stars More digitally Hardcore then anything on DHR.......2003-08-16

This is it, fast hard and electronic what Digital Hardcore should be. Its a very soild fast tempo release, sometimes drifting over to noise rock. Fans of music such as Atari teenage roit, Naplam death, The Shizit, Alec Empire, or ANY other hardcore music should diffently not hesitate to buy, burn,or ... this album. You will not regrete it.

      1 out of 5 stars Don't believe the title!.......2007-07-01

When it's advertized to me as a live album I expect a consistant recording. But this CD drops off at the end of every track like a CDR that has a 2 second gap between tracks. And some songs drop off before the end. The bands performance is rocking but I can't believe that they are happy with production. I get the impression the track listing is not the actual set list. When bands want to putout a concert on CD they have to cut some songs to fit but this is so chopped up it it shouldn't even be called a live CD. Zodiac Mindwarp is a great band in the vein of Circus Of Power , Junkyard , TSOL (With Joe Wood) maybe not to well known in the US but still worth getting their CD'S. But don't pay the premium price for this one. It's just not worth it.
