Horrid Old School Techno.......2006-11-06
This is one of the worst tehcno comps that I have ever heard. I understand that this is old school, but this isn't what old school techno is about. This was commerical released garbage that never made its way into the underground circuit, but made its way onto commerical techno comps such as this and radikal records was a horrid label back in the day. If you are looking for some great old school comps, and looking to hear some great classic techno, then try Tressor Records early comps, Moonshines Speed Limit series (for classic Happy Hardcore and Drum and Bass) or Adrelin Records early comps for some great hardcore. Stay away from this as once again this isn't true old school Techno. Note:There are one of two decent tracks on here. Every old school techno fan should know "Dominator". Moby's "Go" is a great song, as his first album and earlier material were great electronica. The artist "Apothois" put out some great music, but none of the good songs they released are on here. SO its just not worth going through all the junk on this disc, when you can find the other songs I mentioned on much better comps and CD singles.
BEGINNERS?!?.......2003-08-27
This CD was made for people who listened to techno back in the early to mid 90's. Not people who consider Paul Van Dyk the best in techno. Im Not putting PVD down, he and Oakenfold have some of the best TRANCE mixes today. but this is the music that gave birth to what you call techno today. Awesome Oldskool Techno CD. Definatly recommended, unless you don't like good music!
Okay For Beginners.......2000-12-05
There are definitely better techno mixes on the market than this one. You would be better off getting a good Paul Van Dyk or Daft Punk CD. Most of the songs on this offering are badly mixed and repetitively simple. Even the songs from good artists like Dj Keoki and Moby don't represent even thier decent work. I gave this 2 stars because it contains maybe 2 songs that I enjoy. (James Brown, and Chzek This Out)
A little slow for techno.......2000-06-23
Techno has better mixes of sound. The cd kinda of sounds like a beginner made this one.
Radikal techno, radically good........2000-06-22
This cd is a great mix of old and new techno tracks. It has a great amount of bass and good treble. I would recomend this cd to anyone who likes techno and rave.

Blasted stereotypes!.......2005-07-20
I just want to say I'm sick of all the reviews saying "You must get this if you're a fan of techno/trance/rave!" or "This is a great example of this style of music!" - because I generally can't stand techno.
And I absolutely LOVE Scooter.
And this is a great example of music. Period.
So for everyone who's looking at this and thinking "Why is there techno crap in my reccomendations?" or "I can't believe my buddy told me to check out this stupid band," and thinking about checking "I'm not interested" - you should really give it a try!
kickass cd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2005-05-03
To me giving this c.d a five star would even come close on rating this c.d I would most definately give it 10 stars. Every track on this c.d is "addictive" and will keep you boppin your head for hours trust me you wont be dissapointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best of? Not really........2005-01-17
This album doesn't offer "The best of Scooter" Only the best after 1998. All the previous singles like "Move your Ass" "Back In the UK" "Fire" and "The Age of Love" are not present here. It's a allright album for starters but personally I think that the music they made from 1994-1999 was the best and many of those songs are not here, while lots of newer one's that doesn't offer you the true sound of Scooter that are here aren't very good. I own "Rough & Tough & Dangerous: 94-98" that does include some of the classics and it also offers you some wonderful instrumental trance songs that really proves the genius of this band (We don't see that very often anymore though). While songs like "How Much is the Fish" "I'm your Pusher" "Call me Manana" and "We are the greatest" are all great songs you can find them on "No time to Chill" instead, other then that, get the album I recommended instead of this that isn't really their "Best of" anyway.
Can't Help but Dance.......2004-09-04
This is one of the best techno albums i have, becuase it sounds differnet than the other techno CDs i own. Scooter is a German techno band, two djs and one singer, that are simply genius at making catchy hooks, and energetic lyrics to get you at least tapping your feet to the infectious chorus.
Some of my favorite tracks are 1 Nessaja,2 Posse,3 I shot the Sheriff, and the hidden track 18 (Logical Song)and 15 Loud and Clear. Even though tracks 1,2,3,18 might sound like they have the chessy female vocals on it, it really becomes more of another of instument, instead of an angelic voice that you might associate with trance. The other tracks continue to have lyrics up till about track 11, then it goes instrumental for the rest of the album, untill the bonus track. The instrumental tracks are alright, i usually skip them till track 15, my favorite of them. If you like any opera music track 13 samples Mozart Fledermaus (Bat) replicating it through use of synth of course.
Overall i really like this ablum, and it really stands out among my other trance albums as very unique and different sounding. I recommend it.
They started in 1994 and they're still on the case!.......2004-07-08
When you think dance, you should think Scooter. No exceptions. From 1994 till the present, they've been a constant powerhouse in the techno scene. And this CD does a great job of showing off their greatest hits.
"Pushing the Beat" is the US Edit for the CD "Push The Beat For This Jam" which was released in Europe. The CD features hits from the "second chapter". The second chapter is the time-period where Scooter was with their second keyboardist, Axel Coon, along with all-time members H.P. Baxxter and Rick J. Jordan. However, this chapter ended with the song "Nessaja" which is actually not made with Axel but with Scooter's 3rd keyboardist Jay Frog.
Fom "Nessaja" to "How Much is the Fish?", Scooter's most popular beats keep coming harder than ever. Classics like "Posse! I Need You on the Floor!" make this CD an absolute masterpiece. After "How Much is the Floor" comes some brand news tracks from the Scooter crew. "Greatest Beats" and "New Years Day" come from the tracks "We Are The Greatest" and "F*ck the Millenium".
One of the tracks entitled "Sunrise (Ratty's Inferno)" has a story behind it. In Europe, many DJs see Scooter as a joke unforunately. Scooter saw this and made up another artist called Ratty. Under this artist name, they released the track "Sunrise (Here I Am)", one of the greatest songs ever. Seriously. The song became instantly popular and people wondered who this group was. When the music video was shown for the song, three rats were shown. Three Rats = Three Members of Scooter. There is no doubt this is Scooter, but few still refuse to believe it. Many still own the song with no idea it's Scooter. This song is the Instrumental Edit for the song and is still as great as the original.
The hits continue with great songs like "Habanera" and "Loud and Clear". The hidden track turns out to be one of the best songs Scooter ever made. The track is "Ramp! The Logical Song", a cover of Supertramp's classic. Listen. You'll love it. Guaranteed.
This CD is a masterpiece. And since this is the only Scooter album you can find here in the States, go and experience the greatness that is Scooter.
