Album Description
When Orbital first took the stage at Glastonbury-on July 25th 1994-they arrived with a reputation as innovators of live electronic music and armed with a recently completed album no one outside of their studio had heard. By the time they had finished what has since been critically and generally acclaimed as one of the greatest live performances of all time it was clear that there was something going on between Orbital and Glastonbury that went beyond the realms of just being in the right place at the right time. In ten years Orbital would return to Glastonbury five times, delivering stunning, euphoric performances that stretched the possibilities of what a `Dance act was capable of bringing to the live arena-both visually and sonically- and providing the defining moment for several hundred thousand people's midsummer weekends. For those who missed it, and for those who were in the thick of it every time, this is a two CD collection of the best of these performances. 16 tracks.

"it was One of the all Time Great Glastonbury Sets," Says Festival Organiser Emily Eavis, "it's Gone Down in Festival History as a Really Special Moment. Over the Years There have Been a Few Sets which have Somehow Transcended the Normal 'band-audience' Relationship, and Orbital Did Exactly That." Includes Two CDs and One Dvd (Pal).

BUY IT NOW!! -- AN ORBITAL FAN MUST HAVE!!.......2007-06-29
This DVD compiles the footage and audio from one of the best artists of their time. They compleatly reconstructed the way electronica was. Their performances at the Glastonbury were legend and now you can see and hear them on a collection of 3 (count em) 3 discs! The 2 audio cds include alot of their best songs and some you are yet to discover, (Some of which have some interesting improv integrated in them.) The DVD is all of the live footage of the songs. Put together in a sort of mezmerizing way. If you love orbital this DVD is a must have for you. It transends their Legendary music with live footage that (for some) is a memory on hard-copy. Cheers to Orbital!

a great live set.......2005-08-14
Everyone knew that Kincajou was a song for dancing, but who knew that the rest of the "Last Train to Lhasa" material would go down so hot at a live show?
This is a solid live release of Banco de Gaia, one of the UK's (and the world's) great electronic pioneers, performing live some time after the Lhasa record came out, so the bulk of the show is from that. Somehow, Toby Marks makes tracks I never would have thought danceable ("White Paint"?!) into driving club beats, although his earlier material goes down more sensationally ("Heliopolis," "Data Inadequate"). As Toby at this stage was performing alone, it is never clear exactly how much he is controlling the myriad and cascading layers of beats, synths and Eastern samples and how much he is relying on playback. "Heliopolis" and "Lhasa" sound almost unaltered from their original studio recordings, save for a few bits of timbral tweaking here and there. But other tracks are clearly more interactive experiences and are completely revamped for the live show. "887," which had to be shortened to avoid some "incriminating sampling," goes down particularly wickedly. Bottom line, it all sounds good live, and even if you have both this disc and "Last Train to Lhasa" you will find them sufficiently different that it will be worth the expense of owning both.
Excellent introduction to the group........2005-05-12
I had never heard of Banco de Gaia before listening to this album, but it provides a look at one of the better crop of world music mixed with electronic beats style artists.
You can really get a feel for a band on record albums, and this album is full of energy, but mellow enough for a sunny afteroon as well. Its foot-tapping, drum-beat led fun that would make a great addition to any music collection.
Posibly its only fault is that, as a live album, some tracks are a bit overlong and were extended for the crowd. However stick this on a CD player in a park and that detraction soon goes away.
Overall - an excellent album, which perfectly evokes an outdoor vibe. Recomended.
A Fantastic Re-Issue of a Classic Live Performance.......2003-02-26
Banco de Gaia were doing the world-beat/electronica thing well before it became hip, and they were doing it right. This is a re-issue of an album that was released some years back of their performance at Glastonbury, UK that has a lot of the energy and beat of their earlier work.

Amazing. Period........2003-02-25
I saw that know one had reviewed this yet so I had to chime in. This album is second only to the Orb Live '93. Electronia and Ambient are very much studio forms of music, very tricky to get just the right vibe live. This one did it with flying colors! A must for any collection.

Wow.......1999-06-11
At first I was a little skeptic.. afterall, electronic music played live can't sound good on a disc.. but I trusted the people who urged me to get it. And as usual, they have been right. This is an amazing piece of art. It was my first introduction to the music of Banco de Gaia, and about two minutes into Last Train to Lhasa - I knew I was going to get more of them.
A spiritual ride through the ethers.......1999-05-04
This is a great album by Banco De Gaia. The crowd loved it (I was there!). This is a relatively popular but still unknown, but well loved by those who love this sort of music. If you want a general CD by Banco De Gaia, this is it. It has all their best tunes from their previous albums.

Hawkwind - 'Live At Glastonbury 1990' (Voiceprint).......2004-01-23
First off,I'd like to encourage anyone who's considering purchasing this CD to ignore the numerous negative reviews it's received. It's simple...if you're a Hawkwind fan, you'll like it.'...Glastonbury 1990' was obviously mastered from an audience recording.Gig took place at a 5 am outing on the Sunday morning of June 24,1990.The quality is a bit rough on just a couple of spots;pretty much the vocals are weak during "Brainstorm" and "Ejection".Other than that,it's a very nice collector's item.Tunes such as "Angels Of Death","Golden Void","Assassins Of Allah","Dream Worker","Shouldn't Do That" and "Images" are of decent live album quality.A couple of songs that I've never heard before are "The Door" which is a brief noodling of keyboard and guitar which is good, just should've of been longer and "Sword Of Dawn",a fantastic number that vocalist Bridget Wishart simply never sounded better! After you hear this disc, like maybe three times,it really grows on you.
mud.......2002-01-19
I agree with what the other folks are saying about this one. great tunes, dreadful sound. not worth buying at all. the crowd conversations are much louder than the band! avoid this one!
A travesty of a mockery of a sham of a CD.......2001-07-21
Live Hawkwind recordings are usually better than the studio efforts, but Live at Glastonbury is a total joke. It sounds like it was recorded on a micro-cassete recorder that somebody smuggled in and never bothered to take it out of their pocket. For all we know this could have just been a party where they happened to be playing Hawkwind CD's. With so many other great live efforts such as Live Chronicles, Love In Space, and California Brainstorm, there is absolutely no reason to buy this CD.
Bad sound, good music.......2000-09-01
For real Hawkwind fans, a real historic occasion, for collectors. If you're not a collector/Hawkfan the sound is so bad that it's not worth listening to. I mean, it is funny when someone comes up to the person recording it (probably on a small tape recorder) and asks him for Rizzlas, and says 'Great concert mate' but it is not what I call a good recording. There are much better recordings of these great songs!
