5 out of 5 stars Amazingly Thrilling Rollercoaster Ride!.......2007-06-15

I expected there to be only a handful of songs that would sound great but it turns out that the entire CD is really just one crazy roller coaster of unique trancey sounds. This is the first CD I ever bought that I can listen to all the way through to the last track enjoying each track along the way, while not skipping past anything.

When I first bought this CD I thought I was making a mistake because I never heard of "The Thrillseekers", who apparently is one guy, not the assumed two-three DJ's. However, I should never judge trance by it's jewel case anymore. This CD amazed me and I'm starting to like the Nightmusic series better than In Search of Sunrise and A State of Trance. We'll see what happens in the second volume coming out this month.

5 out of 5 stars A perfect trance collection..........2007-05-21

Wow! What a powerful trance collection... This collection, together with Armin's State of Trance 2006 and ATB's In the Mix 3, are the most perfect trance collections of the last 5 years (I would add Tiesto's In search of sunrise - Los Angeles, but it's not 100% trance, since it has some chill out tunes).
I'll be anxiously waiting for the next Thrillseeker's album!

5 out of 5 stars Cool.......2007-05-15

Hey it turns out everyone who liked this was right .... I do too. Good solid trance to dance to.

5 out of 5 stars MOODY.......2007-03-09

I love this cd its the best in the world and I cannot explain the intensity of the music better than that.

4 out of 5 stars VOCALS.......2007-02-17

WHY IS IT THAT VOCALS ARE SHOWING UP MORE AND MORE IN TRANCE?

To me their distractions!

DJ's and Producers PLEASE LEAVE THE BUBBLEGUM POP VOCALS for the teeny-bopper radio!

This set lost the fifth star just because of Who's Knocking (Ferry Corsten Remix).

Take the songs with vocals in them out and you still have 22 good trance songs.

Disc: 1
1. By Your Side - The Thrilseekers VOCALS (NOT TO BAD, BUT I COULD DO WITH OUT THEM)
2. Air For Life - Above & Beyond Vs. Andy Moor

Trance is about as Dutch as windmills, and more than any other DJ, Tiësto is its ambassador. His highly successful In Search of Sunrise series can claim much of the credit for this, and this fifth installment, Los Angeles, delivers in spades. As ever, the man finds his inspiration in the female voice; from Late Night Alumni's "Empty Streets," which pits a bassline that bounces like Silly Putty against Becky Jean Williams's dreamy vocals, to Karen Overton's dancefloor-destroying cover of Billie Ray Martin's "Your Loving Arms," Tiësto again proves himself a master at driving sets to soaring highs with well-placed siren songs. The second disc finds the Dutchman in more progressive territory, luring in the unsuspecting with Pink Elephant's effervescent "LAX" only to drop the hammer with Alex Stealthy's "Something Is Wrong," a track with a disorienting beat that seems to tumble over itself and a haunting melody that sounds as though it were trapped under ice. Tiësto also shows he hasn't lost his affinity for engaging the listener in a test of wills, as in A Boy Called Joni's vertiginous "Green Astronauts." Like all good mixes, the fifth in the ISoS series is after all a study in contrasts. Ironic, perhaps, that with the title Los Angeles the album makes a compelling case that the trance crown won't be leaving Holland anytime soon. --Brent Kallmer

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars what an awesome arsenal for our ears.......2007-07-07

Tiesto, albeit ostentatious, is revolutionizing music, and ISOS5 is a clear example where dj's like him, and Armin are heading. His tracks are eloquent, driving and full of forcefullness, and flowing and no one, anywhere, can do it like Tiesto. People say he is a sell out, well Go ahead and sell out Tiesto, because if you can make albums like this for me and my 100 friends to enjoy, than so be it. Everyone I have given this cd to, really, everyone of them, can't believe how magical it is. Like the previous reviewer, I can be driving in rush hour from Boston and blast ISOS5 and never get sick of it, that is hard for a trance album to stand multiple plays after a year or so.

Tiesto is only starting his protege mixing. I cannot wait for more tracks from him. 'Tiesto IN Concert' is mind boggling, a life altering trance experience.

Anyone hestitating to buy this for perhaps a different dj like Armin B or Van Helden or the like, well they are good, but def. add this to your collection.

SO BRILLIANT!

thanks

1 out of 5 stars TIESTO GIVES US ONE MORE REASON TO HATE HIM!.......2007-06-13

what else is there to say, except stay away- the almighty god of the sound of torment makes us want to rage some more. Please I beg you tiesto, go away and leave us all alone.

4 out of 5 stars Great CD.......2007-05-03

This is a great CD by Tiesto. I love the mixes and sounds presented in Sunrise Vol. 5, and this was the first CD of his that I had ever owned. I especially loved the track "Helsinki Scorchin". Great track to drive to, by the way. I like the faster beat tracks that Tiesto creates/uses, and a lot of that is due to the fact that I like to listen to trance when I'm driving, and it's most fun to drive to fast tracks. The reason why I rated this four stars instead of five is because I have Sunrise Panama and Sunrise Latin America, and I think both of those albums are actually a little bit better that Sunrise Los Angeles, even though they were its predecessors.

5 out of 5 stars keeps me home.......2007-05-02

This cd set of Tiesto's is really great i live in Los Angeles and driving at 80 on L.A.'s most known freeway you can understand that no matter during the day or at night its a really good energetic album my favorite is "moonlight party" because that brings the suspense of speed during the day or night and those loud hits are fantastic you have to pick up a copy

5 out of 5 stars Best Dance Album for 2006.......2007-04-22

I bought a lot of Dance, Trance, Electronic, CD and this is my favorite album for 2006. Very good beat and vocal. A good choice for Club Hits fan...

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Best Anjunabeats I Have Heard.......2007-06-06

I got Vol 2 & 3 and I must say that this is the best one so far. It is utterly fantanstic. I got it because other people on Amazon recommended it and I got to admit, this is utterly the best Anjunabeats I have heard. Every track is good. It is not like Vol 2 where I was listening to Taurine, Kallocain, and Cre8 again and again without much regard for the rest of the album. Vol 4 is like one continuous good, wonderful, uplifting, beautiful, perfect piece of progressive trance. This is a true keeper. After 10 years, when I look back on the Summer of 2007, I know I will first remember this album, it is just that good.

I am ordering Anjunabeats, Vol 5 and the Worldwide Vol 1 immediately! Others are saying they are even better than Vol 4. If that is true, this is going to be the best Summer for Trance in a long time!!!!

Buy this! It is worth it! Just buy it already! I wake up at 4 am just to listen to this album 3 times before going to work! It is that good!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome.......2007-05-07

It may not have a lot of vocals to it, but the beats are fricken awesome. I especially love that song "North Pole" track 8; I only wish it was longer.

5 out of 5 stars By far the best volume.......2007-04-02

This is by far the best volume of the Anjunabeats series. Not that the first three volumes are bad, on the contrary, they are great too. But Above & Beyond have definitely put together a great compilation here. Highly recommended!

5 out of 5 stars Good, Deep, Melodic Trance.......2006-12-11

Above and Beyond is an unknown beauty in trance. The fusion of euphoric melody, deep bass lines, and playful beats sets this talented duo apart from most other trance DJ's. Ajunabeats Vol. 4 is a tremendous addition to an already fantastic volume of music promoted by Above and Beyond, and truly sets the standard for innovative trance.

The music develops energetically throughout the set, slowly mounting into a fascinating soundscape; one that is full of elation and wonder. From its beginning to end you get lost in a reminiscent daydream, wondering if the next track will be as beautiful as the last. I was never disappointed.

I highly recommend this album, along with Above and Beyond's other releases, to people who listen for the emotional beauty of music. There is musical genius hidden in every track; and for that simple reason alone, it is quite an album to own.

5 out of 5 stars A Must Buy Trance Album!.......2006-12-06

By far the best of the Anjunabeats series. A&B bring a lot of great beats and energy to this album while keeping to their Trance roots. A great listen front to back for any Trance fan.

2 out of 5 stars Break Out Your Glowsticks and Lollypops.......2007-07-09

You think that the passing of four years would have a world-class DJ evolving? Even a little? Well, think again. The Politics of Dancing, Vol. 1 was released in 2001, and this second volume demonstrates no clear progression in Paul Van Dyk as a DJ. He still choses to feature as many short anthem tracks as possible on each disc with the ever present "bubblegum" trance overtones. Conjures up images of a time when it was cool to wave glowsticks around at a club or rave.

Paul Van Dyk is great spinning live, but the majority of his commercial compilations leave a lot to be desired.

Both discs get 2/5 stars.

3 out of 5 stars Music to interpretive dance to.......2007-06-30

The only dancing this inspires me to do is dance over to my stereo to put in a different CD. I stopped listening to him after Out There and Back and I see that haven't missed much in the last several years. I admit there might be a couple of toe-tappers in here somewhere but I've lost my patience, you're better off buying something...I don't know, good, like Markus Schulz's Miami '06 or anything put out by Armin van Buuren in the last two years. Into the trash with you! Goodbye five dollars.

1 out of 5 stars WARNING!! THIS IS PROGRESSIVE HOUSE!!!!!.......2007-03-10

THIS CD IS NOT TRANCE OR EVEN WHAT I CONSIDER QUALITY MUSIC TO BE, I'M TRYING TO BE NICE, BUT LET ME SPEAK- THIS CD IS AWFUL UNLESS YOU LIKE SLOW REPETITIOUS MUSIC, PERSONALLY I WOULD RATHER LISTEN TO A MOUSE FART THAN HEAR THIS TRASH, I HAVE OVER FIFTEEN YEARS EXPERIENCE AND MY REVIEW IS THE ONLY ONE YOU NEED TO READ. order armin van burren state of trance 2006 if you want some spectacular music. that cd is an instrant classic.

5 out of 5 stars Politics of dancing 2.......2007-03-05

5 star let me give you actual feel of this album. First definately PVD has evolved this is one of his finest album and great work.
starting with disc 1. 10/10

1) String Theory - Alex Gold is 5 star song will touch you to your heart slow start, mild and melo.
2)Getting Away - Tranquility Base - is on a serious and mysterious note if you are listening to this song for first time you will be lost from second track only intense pain and mystery.
4)Transatlantic - Jose Zamora & Damian - electro treat
8. Why? - Lolo - is a great loop and will attack you again.
11. Closer Now - Filo & Peri - is beginning of power PVD is getting you prepared for trance attack.
12) The Unknown - White Water - the power and energy flows in this track.
13) Forbidden Love - Marc Van Linden - PVD patent beat
14) Someday - Whiteroom - after completion of 2:14 minutes of song is an intense trance attack you cannot escape all you can feel is light.

Disc to is starts with patent PVD beat his unique style and till track 5 i.e superfly you are caught to you chair and you cannot even change volume cause you are actually hypnotised.

Regards
Upraj

4 out of 5 stars PVD Does it Again!.......2007-02-06

This CD is wonderful! Disk one is amazing, there is so much variety in the tracks and they just get better as the disk goes on. I didn't think disk two was as good as disk one, but overall, the CD was definately worth the price!

Though he's as close to being the quintessential trance DJ as anyone, Tiësto has in the past used his mix records to drop new, sometimes challenging material (e.g., 2003's Nyana). But that's never been what the Sunrise records are about. Like 2004's Olympics-anthem release Parade of the Athletes, the vibe is all-inclusive, overtly positive, and infused with a strong orchestral bent that broadens its appeal. The first disc works up a lather after a lukewarm start, ending strongly with tracks from Gabriel & Dresden and BT ("Force of Gravity," spiffed up with a Tiësto remix). The second disc isn't so shy, though the Ibiza sheen gets a little glossy. If there's one thing this DJ can do, it's convincingly integrate a distinctive vocal ("Silence," anyone?), and his collaboration with Aqualung's Matt Hales on "UR" is no exception. One gets the sense that Sunrise 4 could have been just one disc and still delivered the essential punch--but even though it's a bit bloated, this collection unquestionably has the epic heft for which Tiësto is known and revered. --Matthew Cooke

AGAIN TIESTO GIVES US ONE MORE REASON TO HATE HIM, WHY CAN"T HE JUST GO AWAY AND LEAVE US ALL ALONE?

3 out of 5 stars More house than trance.......2007-06-06

This is my first Tiesto CD that I heard. IMO It's a very good House CD. Not as laid back as I would have liked to call it a trance CD.

4 out of 5 stars Once again, great CD. .......2007-05-07

This is yet again, a great CD by Tiesto. However, I still liked Panama better, although just slightly, and so I think that this album deserved a four out of five stars. I love Tiesto's stuff, so I hope he keeps on pullin through!

5 out of 5 stars 5 Stars for reeeaaalll!.......2007-03-07

Alright I'll break it down to you due to the fact that you're debating about buying this CD right? Let me put it this way, if you love trance than you love this CD--honestly. Trance can't get better than this! Both discs are beyond solid. Go ahead and buy it! Trust me you won't regret. FYI, also check out vol. 5 and Armin Van Buuren's "In State of Trance 2006". They're both top notch just like this one!

5 out of 5 stars For fans of Vocal Heavy Trance.......2007-02-16

ISOS 4 continued the awesomeness that 3 set up. personally 3,4, and 5 are by far some of the best trance compilation discs i have ever heard. 4 is very special to me because of its heavy emphasis on vocals. if you like trance, especially vocal (mostly female) trance, then do not deprive yourself of the experience, buy this album as soon as possible.

5 out of 5 stars The Best ISOS.......2007-04-25

I think Tiesto hit the hammer on the nail with this one. I always find a few things to critique with his other ISOS, especially his latest (ISOS 5). But with ISOS 2, Tiesto got the formula just right. Of course, nowadays he doesn't mix music like this anymore. This is classic Tiesto trance--- and excellent trance at that. The song selection is impeccably well-placed and I think this ISOS does the best job at capturing the Summer-Ibiza feel Tiesto may have intended.

After several years of listening to this CD, it still sounds as fresh as it did the day I first purchased it. Tracks like TastExperience, Summerbreeze, Eugina, and Delirio just fit so well into what I believe is his best effort in the ISOS series.

5 out of 5 stars More Great Coding Music.......2007-01-07

I am rapidly accumulating the complete works of DJ Tiësto. It is perfect trance-out music for those long programming sessions.

5 out of 5 stars The Successor To The Greatest Trance Mix Of All Time.......2006-06-16

In Search Of Sunrise is the greatest trance compilation ever made. It is the eternal representation of great trance. Having said that, I can now review In Search Of Sunrise 2.

The album art is awesome. The movie poster concept is clever. Tiësto has a great marketing team.

As for the mix, I've found that it helps to divide DJ Tiësto's compilations into movements, because I'm sure he does. Some songs aren't meant to take you over the top. Some are. Some songs work together to build tension for a powerful, explosive song approaching. Some songs are powerful and explosive. Tiësto knows how to use different types of trance songs to create a mix that is HIS. He is a master at this.

The first movement is fantastic. It begins ethereal and dreamy, and through the first three tracks there is a brooding feeling.

Tastexperience by Tantrix is an excellent introduction to the mix. It represents the style and mood of the In Search Of Sunrise (ISOS) series. It has the island feel Tiësto is revered for. As it fades out and LN Movement's Golden Desert (Part 2) is revealed explosively, feelings of nostalgia for the first ISOS are evoked. At this point I am impressed. This is what I expect after the first ISOS. This is a summer mix. Once Kamaya Painter's Summerbreeze comes on, it's obvious that the first two tracks are only a build. Summerbreeze is beautiful. I have to give it up for Kamaya Painters on this track, which means I am actually praising Tiësto and Benno De Goeij, who together ARE Kamaya Painters. The melodies here are precisely what make great trance. The build, the clashes, the keys... this is the trance that I love. So far, the mixing is flawless. At the end of the first movement, the mix seems to transform from trance to house. Vocals are introduced. Rui Da Silva's Touch Me is a good track with a melody that allows it to mix well with this compilation, but it's not a great song. The vocals and lyrics are mediocre. I expect only the best from the ISOS series. This is good, but not Tiësto good. I did, however, smile when thinking about the song placement in comparison to the first ISOS; this song is similar to Billie Ray Martin's Honey, which is track three on that mix. Anyway, Touch Me made me skeptical. The mix seems to be going somewhere, then Tiësto takes a detour with Touch Me. Why? I don't know

As touch me ends the mixing gets heavy and dramatic I realize I'm being swept into the second movement. The Michael Woods mix of Eugina by Salt Tank scraps the previous song and takes the mix right back to where it belongs. This is amazing trance song! Echoing snares, soaring vocals, the ebb and flow of dense subterranean techno melodies... YES! I'd like to shake Michael Woods' hand. The mix into Cass & Slide's Perception is heavy like the last mix, and I dig the style. Tiësto cautiously mixed the songs through the first movement, but in the second movement he takes over and charges ahead boldly. Perception comes in, hits a break, and the game continues. You have to love the robotic sounds on this track. The bass line on this track is deep, even for trance. The song tricks you... you think it's going one way, then another break comes and in the vocals drop. Wow. Here is another beautiful vocal trance song. "Search and you will find the answer... if you look deep inside of your mind... you can see forever... rise up together." Now that is dance floor ecstasy. Perception ends almost abruptly and in drops Mekka's Diamondback. The vocal trance delight continues. This song is insane. Take a drive on a country road and listen to this song as loud as you can for an amazing experience. Lucid's mix of BT's Dreaming comes on next and the texture of the mix is changed again. The sound effects here are awesome. The ticking clock, the panning, the creaking doors, the chimes: I love this song. Tiësto knows how to compile great vocal trance songs like no other. With this song the second movement is ending...

And with the Venus Mix of Baracoa's Delirio the third movement blooms. This song... man... this song gives me goosebumps. The build is like no other. This is deep trance. This is a classic. Songs like this are what give the ISOS series it's enigmatic quality. You might as well just burn the house down for this one. The vocals are intoxicating. Delirio takes me away. At this point I'm sold on the mix. The next track is a remix of Fortress's An Angel Saved My Life. The sounds here remind me of Paul Oakenfold's Tranceport. The trance here is hard, heavy, and dense. It's good, but it's one of my least favorite tracks on the album. It gets serious quick, but there is no distinct build. It does however, mix superbly with the Marc O' Tool Remix of Ballroom's 4 AM, which I think is the reason why Tiësto used it. Ballroom is a cool song, but it doesn't have the power of the previous songs on the mix. It does have a unique style that makes this ISOS mix even more eclectic. As Coast 2 Coast's Home comes on, I understand the purpose of the previous two tracks. Tiësto was building. This is why I like to group his mixes into movements. Home is another great track because of its uplifting melody and its quick build to an all-business breakdown.

The business continues right into Slacker's Kingdom Come Mix of Breeder's Tyrantanic without a breath of air to relax. Then... BOOM! The beat drops and there is silence. The fourth and final movement is crowded, dense, heavy, busy, and every other adjective you can think of that is opposite of free and airy. Tiësto ends his mix with pure progressive trance. The builds aren't epic and sudden. They're constant and relentless. The beat just keeps going. The breaks don't even feel like breaks. The vocals are gone. This all describes Max Graham's Airtight, and the title fits perfectly. Tiësto suffocates you in the last movement. I just know that I can't stop bobbing my head. The song takes you higher and higher and higher and higher... then proceeds to the most elaborate breakdown of the entire mix. It doesn't send you away in the ecstatic build-explode-jump off way that trance typically does. It doesn't make you feel like you just got off like never before. It doesn't take you away with heavenly vocals and melodies.

It leaves you in a trance.

DJ Tiësto has done it again. He has left me In Search Of Sunrise.

5 out of 5 stars awesome trance cd..........2006-06-11

this is my second review or comment on a tiesto compilation.. the first was on his parade of athletes cd.. this ISOS 2 cd is just awesome.. i never thought trance could sound so good!! i say this only because previously i dont pay much attention to the genre.. but now i know what i've been missing all this time.. i favor the tracks summerbreeze, diamondback, dreaming, and tyrantanic, but the rest are good too! just listen from start to finish because you may not appreciate how beautiful this cd is put together.. as i write this, im playing the cd!! yeah baby yeah!!! :-)

5 out of 5 stars The best of In Search of a Sunrise series.......2006-05-01

I think this album is the best in Tiesto's In Search of a Sunrise series. Just beautiful trance music from the first track till the last.

Please note that this album is different from Tiesto's live sets and his other "hands in the air trance" compilations. ISOS 2 is a lot more mellow(though does get harder towards the end), and is much better suited as background music for your pre and after-party sessions.

    Overall, a really awesome compilation.

    3 out of 5 stars VERY DISSAPOINTED!.......2006-02-23

    Let me make this short!
This album is from my favorite series.
This was quite disappointing because there was no direction he was going with this album.

His mixing skills were above average but what I think he did wrong here was that he was just trying to get some great songs and put them together so that it would be one of the best albums.

All the tracks here are great. And I think Tiesto knew that and thought that if you heard all these tracks in one mix (that it would be great) but NO the idea didn't came out that great.

Some songs had too much of a different feeling than the other.
But really ALL tracks here are great.

The Magik series is so great for putting songs and making them special its not about getting great songs and putting it in 1 album. Go pick up Magik 1 for a better mix but those songs aren't good as these but at least Magik 1 can represent the series better than this.

Verdict: 3.4 out of 5.0 Something big here is seriously missing 'The originality' probably. But all these songs are so great that the tracks easily get a 4 or a 5 out of 5. Lets hope that his ISOS5 Los Angeles won't sound like because then he will just disappoint me again.

    5 out of 5 stars A genuine masterpiece.......2005-11-11

Tiësto is a legend in this genre, and it's proven with all of his Magik albums. He has never disappointed me, and I was in awe when I first listened to this CD. It opens beautifully with the song 'Eternity' written by Tiësto and the great Armin Van Buuren. I've often wondered what a song would sound like that was written by both of these trance gods, and this song was everything I could ever imagine. The album proceeds strongly, but I feel that it reaches its first peak at 'Open Your Mind' by Yahel. This is a gorgeous song, starting off with strong bass and a building melody, but then it slows in the center and becomes melancholy and almost angelic. The CD continues on without a dull song, and it finishes in a wondrous finale. Overall, this album is a must-have for any Tiësto fans, trance lovers, or anybody searching for deep, uplifting music.

    4 out of 5 stars TRANCE !!!!!.......2005-09-29

5 out of 5 stars The Best Magik.......2005-04-03

Usually when I first buy a CD (especially mix albums) I like to just scan through to get an idea of the tracks I would like. This time was different. Basically, I listened to the entire album nonstop. Only a couple exceptions: Tracks 12 and 13 didn't really catch my attention and seemed a little out of place with other such outstanding songs. Other than that, I have no other complaints about this album and remains my favorite Magik of them all. It even includes my favorite trance song of all time: Alone in the Dark by Airwave.

This is high quality electronica from one of the best DJs out there and I would recommend it to any fan of trance.

    5 out of 5 stars Aural Crucifiction..........2005-02-14

The ancient greeks believed that everything on the physical earth was a reflection of a perfect form for that object, that was untangible but existent. And there is alot of trance albums floating around. This CD is close - and i mean DAMN close- to being that perfect expression of trance beyond reality.

This Album exists in a state higher than most trance. It encompasses all the aspects of classic trance- soaring atmoshperics, rolling snares, swelling beats. But the presentation is outstanding, and nearly each track lifts the listener higher and higher up an electronic ladder that reaches to the heavens. It reaches unconquerable heights.

There are 2 tracks that seem out of place here... They are pretty much the only thing keeping this album from being perfect. Track 12 and 13 are odd, annoying nu-house songs that only temporarily break the spell on this album. Whether intentionally or not, Tiesto put these 2 tracks together. And so, it's just as easy as pressing skip twice. Then you're back to trance nirvana.

This CD will make you itch if you use headphones. The power of the sound, the swelling energy that exists almost always in a perfect harmony between uplifting, edginess, and calm expression of deep thought. This music should be blasted from speakers into a field, and throw away those f*cking lightsticks- cuz you're gonna dance.

"Tiesto is a genius" is an understatement. Ladies and gentlemen, this is trance.

5 out of 5 stars What it sounds Like and What it has to offer (i'm tellin u, it's good).......2007-04-01

Tons of female vocal tracks and samples, more dancable and "pop" than 04 i guess but pop just gets more listeners doesn't it? Armin's signature style(mellow). The selection, more upbeat than 04. Starts off with 4 female vocal tracks(I likes that!), Interstate's I Found You which I thought Oakenfold did a great job on in his Creamfields mix cuz it's just sounds better as a uplifting track rather than a building intro. Beautiful and feminine, why i like electronic dance (but some deep trance heads will find any vocals conflicitng with the actual trance experience.) So for you deep trance lovers Enmass' Beyond Horizon and Kyau vs Albert's Falling Anywhere (Rework)stands out. Armin tops it off with Sophie Sugar's call of Tomorrow (John o'callaghan remix) nice vocal sample with a little break beat in between, what a set! Great selection!

cd 2 "dark" starts off like heart attack comin, wtf! Peter Martin returns with Simply Blue, another instant hit... look i could name the stand outs but there's just too much, this one is a must buy! By far the best in the series, 06 is ok.

I loved this compilation. This is an awesome introduction to Armin's work to me! I will definitely be getting more from him in the future. A must for someone looking for a fresh dose of trance at its best.

Simply Awesome cd 1 light song 9, 11, and 13 i will go hunt for those 12 inch versions im impressed to say the least and speechless i will now take the vocals blarred by those babes on the songs and incorporate them into my prom queen pimp test if my new babes cant hit a vocal that loud i will drop them like the hoes they are or want to be / however he did an impressive job of tweaking and reformatting those songs with those other artist musicians listed, play those songs in an auditorium at the same height of pitch, sound, bpm, and sound rotation on extended versions you will have the crowds go insanely massive cd 2 dark 6, and especially 4 & 5 oh my god simply awesome take these above songs extend them and mesh them with the same intensity and creative soul that can be heard of those song versions and make an extended bootleg mix or blare these sounds at 50,000 auditorium stadium the crowds will go massive i mean this cd is good the other songs are kinda of ok but they are loud but need to be extended however this compilation brings new light to new artists i will hunt them down and buy their other 12 inch versions who knows it may sound better but i have to give armin credit the sound versions played on this cd of those songs is simply awesome good job go buy this cd its worth the price for good dance music.

    5 out of 5 stars Tranceriffic!.......2006-03-26

Hands down, by far the best Trance CD I have ever heard. It takes off from the beginning and just doesn't let up. Especially on disc two. That's my favorite of the pair because of it mostly being instrumental music. Very little singing is features on disc two, and what little singing there is comes across mostly percussive and rhythmic. All except for one track which makes me pull my teeth out because it's so abjectly horrible. Said tract is "Ballerina" and I really wish he would've skipped over that one altogether. It sounds like a REALLY BAD Rufus Wainwright performance, and that's one artist I absolutely can NOT stand. Other than that one major snag, the entire CD pair is pretty much flawless. I'll definitely check out more of Amin's discs as a result of the good impression I got from this one.

5 out of 5 stars Beutiful and original.......2005-07-17

This is one of the most relaxing and envigourating albums I've ever listened to. It's unpredictable, uplifting, happy and clever. This is the only album of the Magik series I've sampled and I'm pretty impressed, so far.

5 out of 5 stars Can Trance get Any Better than This?.......2005-05-13

Its 2005 an this cd was compiled in '98 and while listening to this mix I kept shaking my head in disbelief that Tiesto is soo good at what he does. That's what makes Tiesto's mixes so awesome is that the sound is fresh!! It doesn't get old or outdated, it doesn't get boring you keep asking for more and more which is probably why I'm collecting all his music and keep looking for more!! "Theme from Norefjell" will get everyone on the street looking at u when ur playing it and off your feet of course.."Ayla" is a heavenly track with great vocals!!.."I Know" is one of my favorites..If your days kind of crappy "I know" will be therapeudic! "Wings of love" is upbeat and melodaic..People this is a mix that you can listen from beginning to end..If your not a Tiesto fan then this mix will change that..If you crave some of the best trance you will ever hear get ALL compilations of this series also Live from Innercity and Parade of Athletes has some awesome tracks..Tiesto 4ever!!

5 out of 5 stars fast trance, great selection!.......2004-02-23

Magik 3 is my favorite of all the Magik series [although #6 is a close second].

But Magik 3's selection of tracks, and the order they're in is fabulous. "Ice Rain" has great vocals, and comes in a good place of the track order. The best parts of the CD are at the end, however. Everything from Lucy Cotter's "Breath in You" to Pob's "The Awaking" is awesome! some of the fastest beats i've ever heard, and DJ Tiesto mixes them flawlessly. and what better than to have Gouryella's very own "Gouryella" just before the final climax of the CD. just great!

5 out of 5 stars The #1 DJ in the WORLD!!.......2004-02-07

Any album Tiesto makes or remixed song he does, you can guarantee it will put you in a TRANCE through a musical journey! I have most of his albums from all his MAGIK series and In Search of Sunrise 1,2, and 3. Including his double CD "Nyana".
I also recommend getting "Tiesto In Concert" DVD, he puts on a GREAT show!

    5 out of 5 stars Epic trance~tiesto.......2004-01-26

Rich, soothing, energetic, and empowering with killer melodies and mind blowing breakdowns, this album is totaly organic and 100% awesome from the first track strait to the end. But who could expect less from tiesto? The man is a genious. Are there any cds by him that dont have at least 4 stars? I dont think so. My favorites are magik 3,5,6, insearch of sunrise 3&1, nyana, and forbiddon paradice 7 - deep forest.
