3 out of 5 stars Don't buy into the hype. It is that good but there is better.......2006-10-03

This Cd is really good. No seriously, it is probably one of the most interesting mixes for 2005. There is only one problem. James Holden. His balance installment makes masiello's look like something my kid sister would do;It is that good. But whether you like it or not you have to give Masiello plenty of Kudos for coming up with a mixing stlye and track selection that is truly original, searingly danceable and energetic. Too bad it simply isn't genius. But no matter, we have Holden and Sasha for that.

5 out of 5 stars Ace.......2006-08-09

It is as if Balance were an assignment, where desyn Masiello aced it. This cd is fabolous and basically completes my solid trance collection. There is a mix or balance of everything on this cd and it makes the whole cd collection good. These discs are phenomenal.

4 out of 5 stars Damn Good.......2006-08-03

I knew it from track 1 on the first disc. This is a hot set. I started grooving in my desk chair to the music Desyn has on here. This is a very, very solid and groovy set of beats that has a little something for everybody on it. Only set I know of that comes close from 2005 is GU:28: Nick Warren in Shanghai. To be enjoyed, surely.

5 out of 5 stars Hot Stuff!.......2006-05-24

This is a nice deep house production. If you like this, check out the first full length CD for producer Quentin Allen as Karu. There are other 12" releases on Silver Network, Dadhouse, Winding Road, Mimosa & Smooth Agent. This CD is a very consistant production with a good blend of jazz, hip-hop, techno, neo-soul, and deep house all together. The beats are very crisp and sound good in the car, the house or the club. Some songs tastefully use vocal snippets to add flavor. There is even a track featuring Warren Harris aka Hanna (Shadow Records, Silver Network, Flat & Round, Freerange). If you want good quality deep house, this CD is for you.

2 out of 5 stars overrated.......2006-05-19

totally overrated. felt compelled to write a review because everyone else proclaims this release is perfection and the mix of the year.

disc one is strong and on for the first 4 tracks and then becomes totally monotinous and dull until the closing track which is superb. disc two doesn't move me at all except for its classic intro with orbital.

If you are looking for good stuff for your crate seek out the aforementioned on 12" and don't waste your time buying this.

5 out of 5 stars favorites.......2006-08-28

This is one of my favorite house albums. Also try In House We Trust by Luke Fair and Desyn Masiello. My favorite tracks on here are Fake Love, Generation X & Time is Now. There are two cd's on amazon with the same track listing. One has a photo of Desyn and is by various artists and one is the original series with the original series logo. I believe they are the same since they have the same track listing. One is more expensive.

3 out of 5 stars Still deliberating.......2005-04-04

I bought this CD in Amsterdam and I was so excited. I've heard so much about this guy, and finally I was holding his CD in my hands.
I really don't know what to say about it, because it takes off kind of slow (so it's not a party starter) , but still the mixing and the atmosphere is good.
The last song is by far the best on the entire set (Afrodisiac).
If you're a progressive fan, you should buy it, because when you're at the beach with your friends the sound might work, but if it's your first time into progressive, wait some more, listent to hernan, or deep dish, cause otherwise you won't understand this album.

Album Description

World-renowned dance music label Yoshitoshi is pleased to announce the next installment in their In House We Trust series originated by the Grammy award winning DJ/producers Deep Dish. In House We Trust 3: Mixed by Luke Fair and Desyn Masiello picks up where the last installment by Behrouz and MV left off and represents a cross-section of the best of Yoshitoshi's past, present, and future.

Deep Dish have once again turned over their vast catalog of titles from Yoshitoshi and sister label Shinichi, to Luke Fair and Desyn Masiello, two rising stars in the world-wide dance music scene. On disc one of In House We Trust 3, Canadian DJ/producer Luke Fair, chosen by DJ Magazine as one of their "faces to watch for in 2003," takes the reigns. Highlights include: Fair's original paring of Heiko Laux "Dedicated to All Believers" with Chrisitan Smith's "Perpetual", the classic Dished out Bums (AKA Deep Dish) "Here I Am", Miguel Migs "Find What's Mine", the upcoming Shinichi release "Night Visions" by Sultan, and the forthcoming "The Wish" a sure-to-be-hit by Luke Wan (AKA Luke Fair himself).

Disc two features the superb mixing and editing skills of British DJ/producer Desyn Masiello. Masiello's mix is just another landmark in his skyrocketing career. Highlights from disc two include: DC Deepressed (AKA Deep Dish) "Come Back" paired for the first time with the accapella taken from the Shinichi hit "Marscarter", the forthcoming and ground breaking remix by PQM and Luke Chable of PQM's own "You Are Sleeping", the world-wide dance anthem Humate "Choose Life", and the never before released Brother Brown remix of the KOT classic "I Want You (For Myself)," which features an extensive original edit by Masiello and studio partner Leon Roberts.

Album Description

Mix features top tracks on celebrated Yoshitoshi and Shinichi labels. Mixed by two well-known promising DJs Luke Fair and Desyn Masiello. Featuring tracks from Kot, PQM, Luzon, Humate, Miguel Migs, Brother Brown and more. Slipcase. 2003.

5 out of 5 stars Nice..........2006-08-23

This is what house is supposed to sound like! This cd is rocking and definitely suggested. Luke Fair's set is hot and so is Desyn's. Desyn is one of the most respected dj's out there. Desyn's set starts out with bass and vocals where Luke Fair's is more funky with a heavy beat.

5 out of 5 stars Very Kool House Music.......2005-06-27

Rythematic, funky, groovey, trancey. Really nice house music, try it, you'll definately like it.

5 out of 5 stars Solid Compilation From World Class DJ's.......2004-04-21

Yoshi recordings does it again. The mix of tracks is flawless as usual and the song picks are great. Many of the tracks will be familiar to those Deep Dish fans out there but they never seem to get old. Watch out for the new compilation due out May 11, 2004.

5 out of 5 stars Original, Classic, Funky.......2006-01-15

Amazing tracks laid down, I reccomend this cd to anyone who's looking for some amazing Progressive.

5 out of 5 stars very "original" indeed.......2005-03-02

Wow, Desyn knows what's up. I always find it refreshing when i listen to it even though I've had if for a while now. Tracks 1-3 are pretty good, but the only reason bought the cd is for the tracks that follow. Track 4's dreamy-a**, mellodic a** sound is awesome. Track 5 picks up with a more hectic, but still melodic, sound. Then desyn gets down with a sweet baseline track 6--sounds awesome with a loud a** sound system. The cd then gets kinda' lame with tracks 7-9 and pics up with a more up-beat sound (as opposed to a more melodic sound from the previous tracks)with tracks 10-11. Get this cd if ur a big prog house fan. Even if ur not, (i listen to a lot of pvd, oakenfold, and sasha) get it anyways.

4 out of 5 stars someone to watch in 05.......2005-01-06

I finally got to see this guy New years eve downtown LA, opening up for Digweed. Heard his In house we trust mix cd's and his essential mix on bbc. This new release is far the best of his mix cd's he has released, but does not even close compare to what he did new years eve downtown la. This guy was phenomenal and im sure he will be back in town to play live. He dropped "lick my deck" by sebastian ingrosso and john dahlback and i couldnt believe what i saw. Crowd went insane. Pay some money and go see this guy if he comes close to you

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding.......2004-12-12

Desyn has the ability to weave complex rythems, melodies, and harmonies, which can take you out of the mundane into a world filled with lush and vibrant color. Just picked this one up the other day and haven't put it down since. The CD starts off strong and ends strong---not a bad song on here. It gets better with each listen, and thats saying a lot seeing as how I like the sound almost immediately. Desyn is definitely one to watch, and his debut on Bedrock is nothing less than phenomenal

4 out of 5 stars Complex. Intelligent. Funk........2004-12-01

Desyn's debut on Bedrock was something I wasn't looking for. His sound caught me off guard. It has a unique vibe, hinting of funk. But not overtly so. He has layered tracks, that show his coming reign of electronic dance. The CD is quite close to what one would expect his live club sound to be. Affrodisiac is the culmination of the entire album, which ranks right up there with the tracks of the year. This is not a vocal album, thankfully; it reveals the skill of the artist, and the painstaking art of mixing. Desyn Masiello is an upandcomer- and he surpasses even that label on this album. Well done. (Sidenote) His debut on Radio1's Essential Mix was nothing short of spectacular- find a copy.
