These made me buy the CD singles off this catalogue of classics

not my type.......2004-10-24

i bought this CD hoping it would be more electronic club music but thats not at all what it was, its more jazzy/blues than electronica - i am a big fan of Ultra's Dance and Trance series
i had one of my co-workers listen to it and he more likes the genre and he said it was decent which is why i gave it a 2 star so if you like the old club genre i guess its ok

Ultra Records goes retro on this single disc compilation covering some of the most memorable club hits of the last decade. It would be impossible to have a CD featuring EVERY great club hit of the 1990s, but "Ultra. Club Classics 90s" is still worth picking up. The set has mainstream radio hits like the Todd Terry's remix of Everything But the Girl's "Missing" and Snap!'s "Rhythm Is a Dancer," but we also have some underground club jams like the Fog's "Been a Long Time" and Ruffneck's "Everybody Be Somebody." Other highlights include the Masters at Work classic "I Can't Get No Sleep" featuring India as well as Kristine W.'s still-striking anthem "Feel What You Want." But no 90s collection would be complete without Robin S.'s Top Five "Show Me Love," which still holds up well in 2003. This CD was mixed by David Waxman, whose track record as a mixer can best be described as spotty. When he's good, he's good, but when he's bad, he's AWFUL. This disc is actually an improvement over his prior efforts, and shows he has some potential. Clubheads looking for a one stop guide to how great dance music used to sound in the 1990s should check out "Ultra. Club Classics 90s."
