David's work has played an essential role in shaping the deep house movement at its epicenter.

Product Description
Following the successful worldwide release of ‘Loveslapped by Julius Papp' in July, renowned San Francisco house label Loveslap returns with the second installment to date. This CD is as well suited to listening in the car as it is brightening up a house party. In true Loveslap form, David draws together organic sound elements and solid musical composition as foundation for his mix; his realization of how it feels to be Loveslapped by David Harness. David kicks off the CD with "Salsa Vibes," a Latin-jazz tune that evokes the cheerful energy he brings to a dance floor. "Taboo Jazz," co-produced by David and Charles Spencer, pulls together lush cords, funky guitar riffs, and a compelling sax solo to create a score behind good times with good friends. As the mix progresses, it becomes increasingly more soulful. David finishes with Marques Wyatt's "For Those Who Like to Get Down," ending Loveslapped by David Harness with the deepest of funk, echoing a message of tolerance and understanding.

3 out of 5 stars Buy the other volumes first.......2005-07-08

Not nearly as good or as "San Francisco" as Vol 1 or Vol 3. Not that Harness isn't a good dj - but the choices on this and the overall feel is very different than works by the other 2 djs or anything by Miguel Migs. Papp, Migs, Jay-J & Farina are my favorite San Francisco djs - Harness is more influenced by East Coast/MAW sounds. Consequently this seems like it has faster beats and not as jazzy as the others.

5 out of 5 stars The Soul of House.......2003-04-16

With this CD, David Harness brings us back to what house music is all about- soul, rythm and a great time. It's all very inviting, like Behind the Groove- a track that feels like a full-blown party you just walked into. Then you see your ex there, and it becomes Tortured Soul. A Lovely Day brings it all back around and the love and Latin vibes abound. Thank you David, for keeping the House love alive...

5 out of 5 stars David Harness.......2003-04-08

Throughout this compilation, David Harness proceeds to capture the true essence of house music in San Francisco. You can tell from the track selection that David manages to express his character through the medium of his music. The opening track, Salsa Vibes projects images of a carnival in Rio. David takes jazz and soul influences to create a mix which exudes warmth and vitality. One of my personal favourite tracks on the compilation is Taboo Jazz which was produced by David himself alongside Charles Spencer. If you are looking for a layed back mix to relax and unwind to then it does not get any better than this.

5 out of 5 stars Love Slapped Upside Your Head.......2002-11-22

If you love deep, soulful house this cd is a definate must have. The music pumps and pulsates, the rhythms making it difficult for you to not get up and dance. I know many who make it a point to show up wherever Mr. Harness is spinning because they know that he will make them scream and sweat! If you are a child of house, get on point and get this cd. This is one cd that is sure to never collect dust.

5 out of 5 stars A Must Buy!.......2002-11-13

This is another brilliant example of just how talented and flawless a DJ is Harness. He is a man ahead of his time, but always in syncopation.
