Alex Paterson virtually invented the electronic genre known as ambient-house / down-tempo, with The Orb, resurrecting slower, more soulful rhythms and providing a soundtrack for the post club chill out experience. Having originally met Youth as roadie for Killing Joke in the 80's, Alex formed the Orb in the late 80's and after a few ambient experiments with Jimi Cauty (KLF) recorded the definitive classic 'Little Fluffy Clouds' with Youth.
