Hard Trance at It's Worse.......2006-04-18

The Clubland X-Treme series takes the energy of the original Clubland series and multiplies it by two, which can either be good or bad. Clubland X-Treme 2 has some great songs and some bad ones. If you're a fan of the Clubland series and crave remixes of your favorite songs, buy this album. If not, search elsewhere for good trance.

CD ONE

1. Special D - Come With Me (Central Seven Vs. Tricky P Mix) ... A-
A good remix of a song which could just be named an extended version of the original, but it has some new stuff to get excited about thrown into the mix.
2. Chaah - Funkiness of You (FNP Remix) ... B
I hate that bell bass which appears in most of the songs on Clubland X-Treme 2 (mostly in the FNP and KB Project Remixes). The vocals in this song are tampered with and sped up to the point of incoherence, but the chorus is somewhat good, and mildly catchy.
3. Neo Cortex - Elements (KB Project Mix) ... B+
That bad bell bass is back, but overall this is a good remix.
4. LMC Feat. Rachel McFarlane - Take Me to the Clouds Above (Lee S Mix) ... B+
Finally, a trance remix of this song! But it could've been better.
5. Narcotic Thrust - I Like It (Sinewave Surfers' 2am Mix) ... B+
I love the music, but it doesn't go with the vocals all that well.
6. Rezidents - Popcorn ... B-
This song is great until the music and beat comes in. This song has awesome potential (even Crazy Frog's version was better!!!) but the Rezidents just don't take it there.
7. Rezonance Q - Sweetheart (FNP Mix) ... B+
A good remix.
8. Styles & Breeze - You're Shining (Dark Mix) ... A-
A good remix, but the title is somewhat ironic (shining/dark).
9. Clear Vu - I Adore (CJ Stone Mix) ... B+
CJ Stone, one of Clubland's remix masters, turned another boring song into something likeable.
10. Awesome 3 Feat. Bailey - Don't Go (FNP Mix) ... B-
Uninteresting.
11. N-Trance - I'm In Heaven (Steve Murano Mix) ... C
Horrible remix of a good song. Music doesn't go with vocals at all.
12. Gladiator Feat. Izzy - Now We Are Free (B'Jammin Remix) ... A-
Hard trance at its best. Amazing remix.

A great remix which starts getting good at the first breakdown.

A really weird track.

Good vocals, but overall somewhat uninteresting.

Amazing music, and good vocals.

A pretty good remix, but the best part is the breakdown with the gladly welcomed flute.

Annoying.
3. Friday Night Posse - Extreme ... B+
A really good rave-ish song. Scooter fans will feel much deja vu.
4. Flip & Fill Feat. Karen Parry - Discoland (Cheeky Trax Mix) ... A-
A really good remix of a really good song.
5. Superstars of Bounce - Beat Goes Boom ... C
Annoying.
6. Voodoo & Serano - This Is Entertainment ... B+
Not their best, but still pretty good.
7. Ultrabeat - Feelin' Fine (Scott Brown Mix) ... A+
Wow, this remix is amazing! That deep bass is probably the best part - KB Project should study this remix before ever trying to attempt their next remix.
8. Plummet - Cherish the Day (Hardknock Remix) ... B
Decent remix, I guess.
9. Tube and Berger - Straight Ahead (Hardcore Remix) ... B+
This is way too slow to be hardcore, but the music is still good.
10. Royal Gigolos - California Dreamin' (KB Project Mix) ... B-
This is probably KB's best remix, but still that bell bass...bad...
11. Jonestown - Sweet Thang (FNP Remix) ... B-
Somewhat boring.
12. Northstarz Pres. Neon 8 - What's Up ... C
A horrible cover of an awesome song.
13. Kelly Llorenna - This Time I Know It's For Real (KB Project Mix) ... C+
KB Project, please stop remixing. This was one of my favorite songs. Now note that I gave this remix a C+. NOT the song, but the REMIX.
14. Ron Van Den Beuken - Timeless (Ratty Remix) ... A-
A good remix of a good tune.
15. Tiffany Gayle - Do You Wanna Dance? ... B
Decent, I guess.
16. FFD - Ecstacy ... B
Good music, but overall boring yet again.
17. Quango & Zunie - Music is My Life ... C+
A very weird one.
18. Fatman Scoop Feat. The Crooklyn Clan - Be Faithful (Kuta Remix) ... A
This is one instance where the bell bass actually sounds good. This remix is amazing and made me like the original song.
19. Khia - My Neck, My Back (Lick It) (FNP Remix) ... A-
This song is dirty to the point where it's unneccessary, but FNP has turned this song into another plain, dirty rap song into an awesome club song.

So, overall, Clubland X-Treme 2 is one of the series' worst installations, mostly because of KB Project's plain bad remixes. If you don't like Hard Trance, stay away from this album, and if you're looking for hardcore, it's not here. Go to Clubland X-Treme Hardcore for that. Also, be warned, there's some profanity on this album (tracks 3 and ESPECIALLY 19 on the second disc are two prime examples), so if you're sensitive about profanity, might want to stick to the clean, main Clubland series.

Overall, this album gets a B-. A few good songs save this album from decending into C-world, and I don't mean the C-world in Florida. Think worse, think more KB Project remixes.

Clubland goes hardcore!.......2004-12-18

If you've ever listened to the other clubland cd's then you know that they do alot of trance covers of happy hardcore songs. This CD is their faster, harder style, but it's still not happy hardcore, per se. Just a great CD of quality hard dance music. Give it a chance, you'll like it!
