Product Description
Lucien Nicolet aka Lucien-N-Luciano has DJ'ed from the tender age of 15 and has been producing music since 1997. In the mid-90's, he began promoting club nights in Santiago de Chile in the company of many initiators of the Latin American electronic music scene: Senor Coconut aka Atom Heart, Ricardo Villalobos, Dandy Jack and brother Adrian Schopf. Lucien, having played radio stations and DJ'd at clubs and events across Latin America, Germany, Spain, and Holland; finally settled in Switzerland in 2000 to release on Mental Groove Records in Geneva, where he also holds a residency at the Weetamix club.

Lucien's mixed Swiss and Chilean identity is evident in his music, which portrays a mystical blend of deep techno and electro that integrates strong southern elements in its rhythms. As of late, Lucien has been quietly building a name for himself with those in the know, with a string of sought after releases on some of the world's most cutting edge labels, such as Transmat, Perlon, Lo-Fi Stereo, Bruchstuecke and Klang Elektronik.

2004 is set to be a busy year for Lucien-N-Luciano with his forthcoming album "Blind Behavour" on Peacefrog, preceded by the "Alain Brito" 12". Lucien will also be gracing the more discerning dancefloors across Europe and South America bringing his own breed of fresh minimal techno to those who need it most.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars One of the best electronic music albums ever!.......2005-12-09

If you hesitate, well you shouldn't because Lucien'n'Luciano's sensitive and warm, yet conceptual electronic music is one of the most beautiful and interesting of the beginning of the century. There are some singings, both in Spanish and French, both by Luciano (Luciano is half-Chilian, half-Swiss) and by a very seducing woman's voice... Some tracks are quieter, like the very personal "Ice," others are more dancing, like the shiny Mother, Madre, Mere. Just go for it!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome fusion of techno, pop and latin sounds.......2005-03-08

This album's best songs are 1, 3, 4, 5 and 7. The first track is a hypnotic and smartly arranged techno track with bongas, congas and digitally warped spanish vocals. The other tracks range from short and sweet "electro-latino" pop, sort of emo-ish IDM and downtempo beauty with sexy female crooning. The remaining tracks are also good. You can leave this on from start to finish and feel very refreshed when all is said and done.
Very much recommended!
