Product Description
Mondo Grosso (aka Shinichi Osawa) has been at the helm of the club scene not only in Japan but across the globe as well. He solidified himself as a hitmaker through his first and self-titled album on Sony back in 1993. From there he started producing such prolific artists as the revered chanteuse, Monday Michiru.

Due to the exceptional relationship that he developed over the years with King Street, he was the next logical choice to compile its critically acclaimed Mix The Vibe CD series. The most characteristic element about this particular Mix the Vibe project is what Shinichi calls a "re-groove" or his unique style of re-editing tracks. He did this with past releases such as, "I Hear the Music" by Ralphi Rosario, Boyd Jarvis' "Don't Deny Love", and, of course, the Mondo Grosso classic, "Souffles H".

This technique has enabled him to fit his personal vision and concept that best suits this compilation. A result of his open-mindedness to incorporate a variable of contemporary styles from 2-Step, Jazz, Latin, Soul, to the more traditional New Wave and House varieties, helps create a genre that is quintessentially Mondo Grosso.

the beats are really gorgeous and just for them you have to get this cd. Still most of the vocal arrangements are just not good, even sound off on many of the tracks. Philadelphia is overrated, my personal choice includes pick it up, 15, 1,2, only you. Kerri Chandler is still the most amazing dj in deep house/garage I have ever heard - run to get his compilation under the same label - it is inspired, stylish, conceptual, addictive, full of love for this art, simply flawless. Can somebody tell me of other divine artists in garage like Kerri? I want more and more of this drug.

GOOD BUT NOT GREAT!.......2002-09-26

I first purchased this CD in New Jersey about three years ago at a Football game. However, it didn't have Tony Humphries name on it. It had some guy named "Squeeky's House Mix Vol 3" on it.

I was thinking about buying this "Tony Humprhries- Mix the Vibe" last week until I read the play list. The songs read very familiar to the songs on the Squeeky CD from 3 years earlier. Yup you guessed it! Somebody bootlegged Tony's CD and put their own name on it! DAMN!

Anyway the CD is good but it ain't the best I have in my collection. My favorite tracks are 1, 2, 3, 6 and 10. Frankly after that it kinds of bores me.

To the bootleggers, STOP IT! If you are going to bootleg, at least have respect enough to use the DJ who mixed the CD on the cover. Don't front like you mixed it by putting your name on it.

Tony - the Soul Man.......2002-06-18

The opening track sets the stage for this mix. Pure SOUL! After you purchase this cd the first thing you would want to do is play it. The second thing you would want to do is read the liner notes. The third thing you would want to do is turn up the voulume, 'cause this cd has got to be played loud! Favorite tracks are "Tension", "Until We Meet Again", "Trust Yourself" and "Hallelujah". This cd is what House Music is all about!!!!

Man, I sincerely love Tony Humphries and wish him all the best and a long prosperous life... I would go as far as to say he's only second to Mr. Levan, if not his equal (as this mix is deticated to those greats)! I listen to this cd at least once every week since I've had it (1996). His mixing surprises me, makes me shout for joy, and the mix between track 11: "Philadelphia" by Bklyn Friends, and track 12: "Trust Yourself" by Mentalinstrum, even makes me cry. He does an amazing job, and I would proudly play this cd forever.

The album is good but not Humphries best, would reccommend buy though. Strong cuts are 1, 2, 6,7,9,and 13. Best is 13.. I love Roy Davis Jr. and this cut has got to be in tha top five..its a cut feat. Shirley Ceasar and its definitley Tony's style. 1 and 7 rank second.

Mr Body & Soul does it again with an solid 2XCD with classic and recent hits from Nite Grooves and King Street Sounds. Cd 1 takes you through a soulful journey with tracks from Blaze, Arnold Jarvis, Ananda Project, Kenny Bobien, Stephanie Cooke and many more. The tracks are mixed with such good flow that will make you bump your head! CD 2 has a an intro with Kimara Lovelace's hit " When can our love begin" then flows into a more variety of deep, jazzy, a little vibey house. Overall a highly recommended mix cd that will encourage you to purcahse other Mix The Vibe collections

Legendary Excellence.......2003-04-04

This is Danny Krivit at his best. I have been clubbing for years and it is always good to here good deep soulful house music. These two CD's take you on a journey. A very good one at that. The tracks are good. The only negative is that both CD's hit a high around tracks five and six, and then mellows back out and ends with a bang. This is one to have in your collection.

yes, we all love the Body & Soul trio (Frank, Joe, and Danny), but this particular mix did nothing special that would have me howling, cheering, crying, etc... you know, the whole communion house ministry thing! and yes, 2 cd's for the price of one is sweet, but if you already got the other joints by Ron Trent, Tony Humphries, or Kerri Chandler, then I would recommend you save your dough and look elsewhere...

A great sexy house CD. The tracks are high quality and well mixed. Track 7 is worth the CD alone. Funny that none of the tracks featured the "wild Pitch" as mentioned in the title though!

Slammin House Mix CD.......2001-06-15

This CD is the baddest house mix I've heard in a long time. This is a smooth underground mix with slammin percussion tracks mixed with smooth club vocals. Some tracks have a classy jazz flavor to switch you up from the repetitiveness of some house mixes. If you like Chicago/NY style house...get this one.

There is no other way to describe this album except to say that Joe Claussell chose the right songs, the right mixes, worked the right cadence and sought the right sequence to take you on a spiritual journey from the heart. A double CD mixed compilation album, both Joe and Nitegrooves give you more bang for your buck. Joe mines the cornice where Afro Cuban rhythms meet House melodies. Why does this album work? Joe's secret technique of playing a song in its entirety - working the beginning, middle and end, set a soothing mood for a soulful journey. This album is so hot, you'll need oven mitts to handle it. If you dig deep house, seek soothing vocals and ride tribalistic rhythms, you'll cop four (4) copies of this album, one each for the Lex, the Coup, the Beema and the Benz. Bravo Joe!

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! I bought this on English import at more than twice the Amazon price - never again - but it's even worth 18 pounds: nice, funky, African-influenced house on a Spiritual Life tip. Can get monotonous over long periods. Expect different mixes of the same track, and don't expect complete tracks from artists such as Dimitri from Paris and Kerri Chandler; they're represented by little more than instrumental snippets (esp. Dimitri, which opens the set with a 7 second sound effect!)

All i can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Chicago's gift to the world of afrolicious house muzik has Ron Trent ripping it up on this fantastic double cd of hits off of King Street and Nite Grooves. Take a journey through a deep, dubby, afro groove that will make you replay the tracks again and again. Both cd's have a a combination of soulful tracks selected my Mr Trent and even pulling off a 3 turntable action!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my God, if your a dj you would be able to recognize his flawless mixing off of 3 turntables which is rarely done on mix cds. Please; if you are debating over this cd, fear not, you will be very satisfied and dazzled in a world of Grooves

Ron Trent is one of the few DJs who can entice a person to purchase a mix CD on the strength of just his name. The man has skills! The selection on this cd is perfect and the blends are First Class!! I even love the cd designs; CD One is purple which is my favorite color. CD Two is black, which is always a good compliment to purple. The design of the insert is very haunting, with a photo of Mr. Trent in that "zone" and seemingly rockin' the place. According to the insert, "every person...has a certain choice of sound". Well, Ron Trent's sound is one to be experienced. The only thing left is for a double or triple set to be released with Ron Trent and Kerri "Kaoz 6:23" Chandler on the mix - I'd buy it in a heartbeat!!!

After all is said and done the only thing left to say is, THIS CD IS VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

I've heard some hundreds of house mixes and this one definitely ranks among the best. I've heard this mix in the past month nearly everyday, it is that good. Incredibly tasteful, expressive, playful deep house, super-smoothly mixed. A deep emotional journey for those with an open heart. Ron Trent is GOD !

Ron trent is a very trusted name in deep house, he has yet to show a weakness...
cd 1 has more of a peak hour, getting sweaty, garage feel...
cd 2 is definately for the afterhours, still got kick, but more melodic....
highly recommended.
one of the best deep house mixes ever!

One word to describe this cd - excellent! There is alot of people who claim to play real house music, but when you listen to some of there cd's, the sad reality is that its not real house music. David Morales is the ledgend and this cd is what real house music suppose to sound like.
