Product Description
Fat! Records have cause for celebration: the release of the very first in a series of Chew the Fat! compilations. Not happy with simply bringing you the best breakbeat party every month in The End's main room, Fat! Records have purified the essence of Chew the Fat, and brought it home to a ghetto blaster near you.

Over the many years since its conception, Chew the Fat! has played host to all the major players in the breaks scene - Plump DJ's, Adam Freeland, Stanton Warriors, Soul of Man, Tayo, Drumattic Twins, Evil 9, the list goes on. All of them and more have played an integral part of the incredible journey that has been Chew the Fat! But perhaps none of them have been such a fundamental part of the enterprise, so completely expressive of the Chew the Fat! sound and party experience as Chew the Fat! resident - Friendly.

After being awarded ‘best newcomer' at Breakspoll in early 2004, Friendly went on to release a string of increasingly Fat tracks and bootlegs throughout the year, each one a speaker tweaking, ear crunching, butt wiggling, breaks dancefloor bomb. On the DJ front, Friendly's sets at Chew the Fat! and around the world have been peak time, hands in the air, grinning, gurning, monsters and no-one can deny that this breakbeat maestro has the skills to solidly rock any party. Now he serves up a feast of party tracks and deeper rumblings in his own signature style on this compilation.

Featured in this mix are some of Friendly's all time fave tracks such as Zoot Woman's "Grey Day", Rennie Pilgrem and Uberzone- "Cous Cous", Plump DJ's "Bullet Train", Soul of Man "Shake Em Down. "There's a good mix of old and new in there- some exclusives, some not released, mixed in with some classic cuts from the past few years, a few that slipped under the radar and a few that can definitely do with another airing"

The Chew the Fat! Friendly compilation is set to have a place in the hearts of breaks lovers worldwide. It embodies all the very best things about the breakbeat culture today… good times, irreverent fun, and funk fuelled party moments. It's funky and tough at the same time, driving, but never boring, and packed full of personality and originality. Diet starts tomorrow, today let's get Fat!
