Mixing together the talents of film composers such as Bertrand Burgalat, Lalo Schifrin, Ennio Morricone, and even Henry Mancini, this CD is a real jewel. The tracks are all familiar to anyone who appreciates French cinema of the 60's and 70's. Cool bossa beats("Bossa Antique", "Pour un Amour Lointain"), funky guitar work ("Jerk a l'Oriental","Cavalina a Cavalio"), lush orchestrations ("Effervescence", "Rendez-Vous a l'Evidence"), and a lounge sensibility make this the perfect cocktail party CD. Stand out tracks include Pat William's "Face up to it Baby" (#6)which has that 70's T.V. show theme sound to it and Bertrand Bergalat's groovy "Ningette". If you enjoyed Irma Records' ode to the Italian film score, "Suono Libero", then this is it's French swinging partner. You've just got to hear it to believe how well it goes with a martini.
