It's fitting that video channel VH1 is partnered with the obscenely attractive sibs of the Corrs for this live recording, captured in Dublin, near the band's hometown in Ireland. Given the stiff competition in the pop arena and the Corrs' rather limited touring, looks have doubtless played a part in their global ascent, although, judging by Live in Dublin, they've earned some props along the way. Both U2's Bono and Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood guest, the latter on the Corrs' cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing" (though oddly not on their reading of "Ruby Tuesday"). Neil Young's "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" rounds out the tribute triumvirate, and fans can expect surprisingly clear-eyed versions of major and lesser hits like "Breathless" and "Runaway," plus a spirited, fiddle-fueled traditional in "Joy of Life/Trout in the Bath." --Kim Hughes
Album Description
'VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin' was produced by Mitchell Froom (Paul McCartney, Crowded House) - includes new renditions of the Corrs' hits, including 'Runaway', 'Would You Be Happier?', 'So Young', 'Queen of Hollywood', and of course, their U.S. breakthrough smash, 'Breathless.' Steeped in the traditional folk music of their homeland, but invested with a vibrant and electric modern pop flavor, the Dundalk, Ireland-based sibling quartet have earned acclaim around the globe for their eclectic, crowd-pleasing live performances. Atlantic Records. 2002.

Cool Music...........2007-05-31
I love the sound of the Coors....especially "When the Stars Go Blue"..they sang some oldies too that sounded great...Love this CD!!
Great CD.......2006-08-24
This was my first Corrs CD and it won't be the last. Great energy.
A 'Real Good' and 'Intimate' Live Album.......2006-05-18
When the Corrs deliver it 'live', they deliver it real good. Whether it is 'covers' or 'originals', it is as good a live album as I have heard. The intimacy with the audience is evident and all the songs stand-up well 'live'. In my view, this is the best 'Corrs' album out there. Bono pops up on two tracks as an added bonus.
An Excellent Live Album From A Band With A Unique Sound!!!.......2005-04-26
This album was recorded live in Dublin and is a breath of fresh air to to the listener. This band sounds just as good live as they do in their studio recorded albums which is a rarity these days. This album also proves that the band is willing to play cover songs written by other artists which is a major accomplishment in itself. As an aside it was with great dismay that I learned that Caroline Corr, the band's drummer is now happily married. No doubt male hearts all over the world were broken upon hearing this news!!!I wish Caroline, Andrea, Sharon and Jim every success which they so richly deserve.
Wonderful Concert!.......2004-04-07
How can you beat the beautiful Corrs playing in Dublin, Ireland on St. Patrick's day? Great mix of pop and traditional music, super concert. Give me more Corrs - I can't get enough!!! (especially here in the states) AAA+++

Since her '70s heyday as disco's reigning diva (and one of its most adventurous artists), Donna Summer has scored the odd hit: "She Works Hard for the Money," "This Time I Know It's for Real." She's still best remembered for the likes of "Last Dance," "Dim All the Lights," and "I Feel Love," though, and this VH1-tie-in comeback bid concentrates on full-bodied if somewhat murkily mixed versions of those classics and their kin. The two new studio cuts that round out the disc are OK at best, although they do display Summer's ability to adapt to changes in pop-dance sounds. --Rickey Wright

DONNA IS 5 STARS BUT.......2007-01-31
My only complaint is that the other songs like the SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME, RIDING THROUGH THE STORM, IF THERE IS MUSIC THERE, I DON'T WANNA WORK, AND NOBODY, were left off. So really this is LIVE AND LESS ENCORE! I guess once more Sony thinks that the fans only want to hear her back catalogue of hits rather than new ones, whitch to me, are my most favorites that she does live. At least an edited shorter live version of MY LIFE is on there. Hmm guess they know what we want to hear. Whatever. Buy the DVD so you can have all of the LIVE AND MORE ENCORE instead of the one that is LESS. At least the 2 new studio songs are a plus.
Donna Summer: VH1 PRESENTS DONNA SUMMER: LIVE AND MORE: ENCORE! (1999).......2006-11-18
In 1999, Donna Summer had decided it was time to release another live album. That live album is entitled, VH1 PRESENTS DONNA SUMMER: LIVE AND MORE: ENCORE!. Yes, this live album is a follow up to Donna Summer's 1978 live album entitled, LIVE AND MORE. The concert featured on this album was recorded from Donna Summer's live concert that was aired on VH1. When Donna Summer released her first live album back in 1978, her voice sounded very strong during a live performance. When I hear this 1999 live album, I hear that her voice has gotten so much stronger over the years. I always loved Donna Summer's voice, but I began to love her voice even more when it became even stronger than before. She has got such a powerful voice that only becomes more powerful as the years go on. This live album really lives up to the 1978 original LIVE AND MORE.
MacARTHUR PARK
Original version from the single MacARTHUR PARK (1978). YEAH! She opened up with one of her ultimate disco-dance songs. Love this performance.
THIS TIME I KNOW IT'S FOR REAL
Origjnal version from the album ANOTHER PLACE AND TIME (1989). WOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She performed one of my all-time favorite songs of hers. I love this song, and she performes it amazing right here.
I FEEL LOVE
Original version from the album I REMEMBER YESTERDAY (1977). An awesome performance.
ON THE RADIO
Original version from the album ON THE RADIO: GREATEST HITS VOLUMES I & II (1979). I love how she performs this song. Her voice sounds to powerful. Amazing performance. If I ever get the chance to see her in concert, where she performs this song, you know I'll be on my feet, dancing my fricking a** off, until I'm drowning in my own sweat.
NO MORE TEARS (ENOUGH IS ENOUGH) (performed by Donna Summer & Tina Arena)
Original version from Barbra Streisand's album WET (1979). Seems that Barbra Streisand was not available to sing her parts for this classic Diva Duet. But Donna Summer recruited Tina Arena, a sexy Australian singer who has been very popular all over the place. Tina sings very well. Donna, if you're reading this, you still can those notes. Keep it up.
DIM ALL THE LIGHTS
Original version from the album BAD GIRLS (1979). I literally had no idea that Donna Summer had originally written this for Rod Stewart, but decided to keep it for herself. What I thought was brilliant was how she started the song off to make it sound like the way Rod Stewart would have performed it. Donna, if you are reading this, you did an amazing impression Rod Stewart. If Rod was watching you perform this song, I know for a fact, he watched with a huge smile on his face, and then saluted you. Great job here.
SHE WORKS HARD FOR THE MONEY
Original version from the album SHE WORKS HARD FOR THE MONEY (1983). I have always loved this song, but Donna performs this one brilliantly. She sings this one with so much aggression and energy. I don't know how this woman does it.
BAD GIRLS
Original version from the album BAD GIRLS (1979). Awesome performance. And I always like it when girls are...bad...and naughty.
HOT STUFF
Original version from the album BAD GIRLS (1979). Jesus Chriminese! She performs this song with so much *censored* energy. Awesome performance. Love it.
MY LIFE
Original version from the original play ORDINARY GIRL. Great.
LAST DANCE
Original version from the original motion picture & motion picture soundtrack THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY (1978). She picked the best song to end this concert. Great song. Always a classic.
LOVE IS THE HEALER (Studio Recorded Track)
New song. Previously unreleased. Great.
I WILL GO WITH YOU (CON TE PARTIRO) (Studio Recorded Track)
New song. Previously unreleased. Great song.
This is an album that all Donna Summer fans should already have. No excuses. If you don't have it, get it. Awesome live album.
Donna Summer -Live Encore.......2005-09-25
Whatever you remember about the "Disco Queen" is brought back on this performance.....her voice is much richer now and that only adds to the enjoyment of the music.
There's a DVD too.......2005-08-01
Nothing wrong with this CD, but did you know you can get a DVD of the same performance for about the same price?
I prefer the live versions on this CD to the studio versions of the same songs, but that's just me.
I thought her imitation of Rod Stewart was excellent. She does a good Streisand, too. But not so good a Bocelli.
Donna Doing What She Does Best.......................2005-06-12
.that being a great LIVE concert.
To me the most important part of a concert is the LIVE SINGING!, I do not care about the costumes, the dance steps, and for that matter how many people appear onstage. IF you are a truly talented singer, all you have to do is sing your songs and in turn carry a show. Needless to say this is something that many other "Pop Stars" (Madonna, Janet Jackson) and Pop Tarts (Britney, Ashley) simply can't do as they can't not hold a candle to Donna's vocals, let alone her personable persona.
Donna has held on to a huge legion of fans simply due to her one of a kind voice and her down to earth personality that makes every show something special. This concert taped for VH1 features any of her mega-hits that were released after her first live album (the classic, Live & More), and these tracks remain fresh and vibrant today. From "Mac Arthur Park" to "On The Radio" to the over the top reading of "Bad Girls" and "Hot Stuff", to the pasionate take of "Last Dance", this concert captures Donna at what she does best.
You either get it, or you don't. For those who don't, relax, there are plenty of second rate entertainers, who use all the trickery in the world to hide their "second rate" vocals.

Endless Summer..........2000-02-02
I would recommend all fans of Donna Summer to purchase the DVD, great quality with some nice extra material included this is a very enjoyable, intimate concert. (sit back, relax and this is the next best thing to being there).
Donna, the definitive diva........1999-11-18
I shed tears the first time I saw her performance (at the VH1 Special) of "If There Is Music There". Her delivery of this song pretty much encapsulates the soul and life in her music---her voice has so much power yet remains so exquisitely flexible and fluid. Such awesome grace and power in her interpretation of "Someone to Watch Over Me". "My Life" is such a signature Donna Summer song, so danceable, lively, and engaging. The diva of divas has never failed her most loyal fans with her live performances. SHE HAS ALWAYS SOUNDED GREAT. There's no stopping or slowing down this wonderful and extraordinary talent!
The best of both worlds. A video of the concert and a CD........1999-09-13
I have been a Donna Summer fan for many, many years. I have been to 8 concerts this year. And each time I see her I gain a new perspective on this multi-talented artist. Ms. Summer can do it all. Her talents are endless. From singing to painting, acting on stage and concert performances she is a SUPERSTAR. My hats are off to you Ms. Summer, VH-1 and Epic/Sony for doing a fine job with the CD and the concert. I am looking forward to the release of "Ordinary Girl" and Ms. Summers new album. This has been a summer to remember. And thanks to Sony for releasing Live and More Encore on DVD!!!!!!!
the true diva!.......1999-09-05

I am very impressed to see how well Donna sings live!! She IS looking better than ever and sounds more than great. This video includes many songs the VH1 special did not show AND the songs are NOT edited!! The new songs are among the best Donna has ever made!!! A MUST HAVE!!!

Customer Reviews:
strong voice, still........2000-01-14
Donna Summer's stage presence is somewhat faint compared to other performers who can easily make themselves known on the stage before they open their mouths. She thrives boundlessly on studio recordings, without the of confines and stiffness that spontaniety can sometimes bring. However, what gives this particular recording four stars is Summer's ever strong and powerful voice, never showing fatigue throughout the entire disc. And every song is instantly recognizable, even with slightly altered arrangements. The best is saved for the end with her 100% rocking version of "Hot Stuff". Donna still completely has it and even more...Hey, if anybody can add to this page what the three additional tracks on the import version of this are, I would muchly appreciate it. Thank You!
