Product Description
Fabric 08 hears techno's changing state. Using Detroit's 'electro future sound' and the UK's 'Industrial' movement as very loose inspiration, Keith Tenniswood aka Radioactive Man, best known for his work with Andrew Weatherall as 2 Lone Swordsmen, uses 17 tracks to create a lava-hot, headstrong trip. Metal tin packaging. Fabric. 2003.

2 out of 5 stars Dull.......2007-07-07

With the exception of a few (literally) tracks, this is an exceptionally dull and monotoneous set. Unless you are a big Plump DJ's fan, I'd give this one a miss.

2/5 stars

5 out of 5 stars Great Set.......2004-02-28

Check the playlist. This set grooves. Plump Djs Rock. Good mix of electronic, house, techno - Kraftwerk to Donna Summer - go figure. Good series all together. Look for the other Frabric Live cds.

5 out of 5 stars One of my faves right now........2003-12-05

Yeah, this is really good. I'm not adept at categorizing music, but whatever it is- it jams! There are a lot of retro electro sounds coupled with some really funky grooves. Standout tracks are "Squeeks and Bleeps", "The Drum", "The Rock", "Electric Appliances", and the nod to Giorgio Moroder by finishing with "I Feel Love". I just wish I could have been there to see them spin this set.

5 out of 5 stars Buy this and Hyper "Fractured" Bedrock Breaks 2.......2003-04-02

These guys are just relentless in their energetic breaks. I've only listened to 3 CDs for almost an entire month. This is up there. The only breaks CD that is on par with Fabriclive.08 in my opinion is Hyper's "Fractured" 2 CD set. The Plumps have much more of a quick change style of breaks. They will slap you in the face with a beat right after an explosive break. Their style has a much brighter sound than Hyper, but both are just unbelievable. I bought both at an import store and paid 60+ bucks for the CD's. I still think I got a deal. The music is absolutely charged from track 1 (they should've gone out stronger on the last track). Sorry U.S., The U.K. nu breakz scene has the U.S. on hold right now (I will buy the new Icey this weekend). If it hangs with these strong releases, My pupils will be as big as pennies. Strong stuff.

ok, so the title's a bit off... but seriously, this album is truly decent. not too keen on the first 4-5 tracks, so i never listened to it for a week after i got it (bday pressie). but, of course i realised that i had to try it out in the best place to play music - your car! so, in particular i'm seriously loving the koma and bones tune and radioactive man's 'ave that is so feckin' good it's not funny! basically, tracks 6-14 are stunning (if you like this sort of thing of course - if you don't, then, well... buy something else!).

fabric do it again with a quality cd - this for you and your mates, jaques lu cont for party tunage. cool metal cases too!!!
