5 out of 5 stars one of the best pet shop boys remixes ever?.......2004-05-25

Unlike most generic club versions the Attaboy remix (3rd here) is not so much a dance mix more a complete reworking, & that rarest of creations- possibly even better than the original. This dreamlike country & western flavoured production is reminiscent Abba's Name of the Game on Ketamine & when Neil finally slips into the 2nd verse with the words 'better than nothing i suppose..' I defy anyone not to melt. Peerless.

5 out of 5 stars PSB pick great remixers :).......2000-12-19

i LOVE these remixes--the are so different than the ones in clubs in the USA. this is NOT a bad thing...my favorite is the t-total mix! :) it has the best uptempo beat, and repetitive percussion in the background..i luv it! :) the brother brown newt mix on this cd is afull-lenghtrh remix--around 10 mins or so :) its very good too :) the attaboy mix is a 'downbeat' mix rather..it has a slower disco beat than the others..it still retains that club mix feeling though! :) please get this where ever you can find it..you wont regret it :) love ya bellas and beaux! --gabriel :)

5 out of 5 stars PSB get mixed well.. ;p.......2000-07-08

If you Love PSB, and you don't mind their tracks being molded into new creations, with still a hint and taste of them, then you should enjoy this! Some people never understand why a song is remixed, but let's hope you're not one of them. Give a listen , and you'll probably understand sooner or later, but hopefully sooner! buy it! =)

4 out of 5 stars Short but Sweet!.......2005-06-17

If only they would release an album of live performances. I agree that the version of Being Boring is awesome. It makes this worth it. I think the Somewhere DVD would make a great live CD. Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars Rockin' Houston Style.......2001-01-29

I love this CD. The main reason I love it is because...I was there. It was recorded in Houston, TX. The unplugged version of Drunk is great. The live version of Always on My Mind was average, but the version of Being Boring was the BEST mix of the song to date. The CD is worth buying just for the mix of Being Boring.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent single. Buy it if you are a fan!.......2000-05-18

As a big Pet Shop Boys fan i went to the Nightlife concert in Holland. Boy was that concert great! Obviously they played a lot of new songs from the Nightlife album, but they also played some old songs like Being Boring, West End Girls, Always on my mind and It's a Sin in a new techno style.

I was very surprised when i found this single. The songs bring back some memories about the concert. My favourite tune is the new Being Boring version, which combines trance, dance and techno in one song.

If you are a Pet Shop Boys fan, get this single!

3 out of 5 stars for absolute completists.......2000-02-18

This cd has only 3 tracks, all recent live versions of "Drunk", "Always on my mind", and "Being boring". The performances are fine, but this is really only of interest to collectors.

4 out of 5 stars Two of the absolute best B-sides yet from any PSB single!.......2000-05-21

And yes, I suppose "YOTMYLMWYD" is alright too, I suppose. I really only buy these import maxi singles for the b-sides, not to mention the enhanced video that many of them feature as well. However, this video is, even by PSB standards, just plain weird. I guess what it's trying to say that, at both the beginning and the end, there are numerous couples lying down together (All drunk? Could be), with them all dancing in the middle portion. The real highlight of this single is of course, the excellent techno-dance tune "Lies". Disposable? I hardly think so, former reviewer. You probably haven't been a fan of this duo for as long as I have to realize that it's their style. As for "Sail Away", it really sounds like the definitive tune to be played on any sea cruise, for it's soothing qualities. So, until their next single, keep on dancin' to the cool beat of the Pet Shop Boys!

4 out of 5 stars slight.......2000-02-18

A great single, with the bonus of "Sail Away", from the Noel Coward tribute album, and one of PSB's most disposable-ever tracks, "Lies".

5 out of 5 stars This B-side F-"Lies" High.......2000-02-05

"Lies" is a triumphant Chris Lowe project featuring a rare un-vocoded vocal by the aforementioned. Fabulous tune. Just as mesmorizing as "Casting A Shadow" or "Closer To Heaven."

4 out of 5 stars "...Drunk" tests the limits again.......1999-12-24

"Is it junk?" No, not at all, Neil. The Boys break out the rhyming dictionaries and test the limits of our patience again, but in a friendly sort of way, as always. File this under R for "Ridiculously Lengthy Song Titles", or T for "Tender yet forceful". The songs rhymey-chimey cuteness would strike us as sophomorish coming from anyone else, but the "Shameless" Pet Shop Boys can get away with it. This is one of the best selections from the album Nightlife.
