Leave it to the guys who brought you the 1995 classic "My Love Is the Shhh!" to slap the "don't-want-no-scrubs" and "bills-bills-bills" girls upside the head. On their third album, Sauce, Fuzzy, and Cat Daddy lay down a high-gloss, groove-heavy gang of tracks that show off their talents as some of R&B's most skilled producers (they've helmed hits for Will Smith, Eric Benet, and Brandy). They also give voice to the macho R&B backlash that's been brewing since Erykah Badu said "you better call Tyrone." "Bitch with No Man" is SFP's slickly packaged anti-pigeons tongue-lashing. This slow-burn ballad somehow comes off as an effective powerhouse ghetto hymn even as it smacks of misogyny. But the album's high points--the sincere plea of "Can We Make Love," the noble social commentary on "Things Must Change," and the simply beautiful, aching honesty of "I Apologize" (featuring Eric Benet)--almost make up for all the cattiness, and provide some lasting tracks that will resonate long after SFP's Issues aren't issues anymore. --Sylvia W. Issues are one thing Korn singer Jonathan Davis has in spades. On the quintet's fourth album, Davis spews forth about misery, hate, happiness, pain, paranoia, and other primal issues, all set to an appropriately dark soundtrack. From "Dead" (which begins with Davis's trademark bagpipes in a sort of choral musical setting), to the first single, "Falling Away from Me," the vocalist's quavery, edgy, manic delivery sets the tone for this 16-song outing. Not as modern sounding or melodic as 1998's Follow the Leader, Issues is a throwback to earlier, more metallic Korn. If possible, Issues has an even creepier vibe than its three predecessors, thanks partially to eerie guitar lines and vocal effects, especially potent on "Let's Get This Party Started." Twisted, cohesive, and epic, Issues comes through for Korn's fans, who relate to the band's cathartic musical exorcisms and aggro, bottom-heavy rage, commercialism be damned. (Please note: You may receive any one of the album's four different covers.) --Katherine Turman

KORN has ISSUES!.......2007-07-09
Well i don't think i realized jonathan has cut out that hip hip garbage after follow the leader but still they are a horrible band and their songs are mostly the same usual mediocre and uninspiring lyrics about how f**ked up life is. falling away was one of the most dumbest songs/daddy and let's get this party started well all of them do. None of these songs are anyewhere creative or amazingly talented the guitar riffs are all the same they sound so poorly like the guitars are farting really loud poorly quality bass use sloppy drummings and jonathan is not a rocker he's a whiner and an embarrassment who needs to seek professional help. Korn is without a doubt a pathetic attempt to be called metal and their a discrace to real metal heads. I use to like em back in highschool but not anymore I found my true taste in what I love now.
Revenant Voices.......2007-06-15
John, I have to completely agree with you. Korn made a tremendous effort in crafting an elaborate masterpiece like that of "Issues." I took a break from listening to Korn by time I was a sophomore in high school (mostly due to my archaic religious beliefs), and just turned my head to some of the albums I missed from 2002-2006. "Issues" has always been a jewel in my CD collection (now my Ipod's sleeve!), and it will always be for its uniqueness, emotional content, and subliminal messages of hate, love and f***ed up life.
This started the experimental side of Korn, with mixed results.........2007-05-31
I enjoyed this cd just like I enjoy all the other Korn cds. But it is one that I normally don't listen to straight through. There are some songs that I skip over. The really good songs, like "Falling Away From Me", "Trash", "Make Me Bad" and "Somebody, Someone" are great additions to the Korn catalog, but I find it hard to get into the other songs as much. None of the other songs are bad, it's just that I have so many other great Korn songs to listen to instead, and I prefer the heavier side of Korn from previous outings. It is worth buying just for those hit songs I mentioned, but don't expect another "Follow the Leader".
I prefer corn to Korn.......2007-04-01
Take the lamest Nine Inch Nails album and splice it with the best Linkin Park album,(or I guess any Linkin Park album will do since they all sound the same) and what do you have? Korn. Enough of these substanceless, mainstream, sell-out high school rock bands like Korn, Linkin Biscuit and Hootie Blew my Fish already! Bands like Razed in Black, Psychopomps, and Biopsy all make Korn look like N'Sync singing a Shania Twain song.
not bad.......2007-03-23
I'm actually listening to this cd right now. More to the point, this cd was the type of cd that didn't have too many good songs, but the ones that were good, were very very good. Some of their best songs are on this cd. FALLING AWAY FROM ME, TRASH, MAKE ME BAD, and SOMEBODY SOMEONE were the best songs on this cd. Even BEG FOR ME was a good song. not a bad album

Customer Reviews:
SORRY CHARLOTTE - Even God can't change my view on this album . . ........2007-05-15
I bought this CD, expecting it to be somewhat easy to listen to. I was wrong! The whole album is a waste of money! Every track is completely over-produced with terrible synthetic pop sounds and heavy background vocals. I am warning you - DON'T BUY THIS! I'm not going to write a long and dragged-out review about this album, with scores and comments. Her voice has taken a nose-dive. It's WAY to breathy and weak. Please - After Charlotte's recent behavior against the Catholic church and her use of language, cigarettes, and alcohol, all you're going to do is put more money in her pocket to keep doing these things.
Pure OUTSTANDING Pop Album.......2007-05-10
What drew me into this album first was the excellent art direction of the cover. Then, I saw the Charlotte Church name and became quite curious & intrigued. The album is obviously targeted towards a pop audience and succeeds on every level. Musically, it's a wonderfully cohesive pop album with, what I found to be, quite sophisticated and mature lyrics. There is a wise-beyond-her-years sensibility to the lyrics.
I'm totally in love with the fact you can understand every single word she sings even without having to refer to the generously supplied lyric sheets. The arrangements are crisp and Charlotte's phrasing is perfect as she conveys each story/song.
On many levels she surpasses the other pop princesses and young female vocalists out there.
Highlights include uptempo tunes such as "Call My Name", "Moodswings (Come At Me Like That)" & "Crazy Chick".
By the way, "Call My Name" has a fantastic video!
Charlotte Church.......2007-05-07
Ms Church definitely experimenting on this album- did not like it. In fact would not have recognised her voice if I didn't know it was her. Voice is different on each song- talk about multiple personalities.
Not gotten this CD yet, but I am quite disappointed..........2007-04-04
I am disappointed after finding out that Charlotte got pregnant by her boyfriend, when the world saw her as an innocent, beauty with a powerful beautiful voice. To say the least, I was shocked and appauled by her actions having sex at her age, not only to give people the impression she had morals and faith in God. I find it disconcerting she changed her genre to pop music. I think she should have stayed with her Opera-etic talent.
I am not rating the album.......2007-03-18
I just want to say that maybe a girl thrust into one genre doesn't really have the voice to do classical music anymore. Or maybe she's an adult now and doesn't want to do it anymore. Whatever it is, judge the album based on its merits or lack thereof not what she used to do or sing.
Girls' voices change too. Maybe she just can't sing the way she used to. Was she classically trained? Did she have a choice then?
I wish there were samples on this page so I could truly judge so to be fair this isn't a critique of Charlotte or the album. As people grow and try to find themselves we must give them a little room to settle where they see fit. Give her ten years and then see.
Thanks for listening.

Customer Reviews:
The best crystal bowl cd ever? Yeah right..........2007-02-17
That's what I said as I read the reviews here and clicked over to the author's website... so I reluctantly handed over my cash with little expectation, and well, I have to say... I agree!
Frankly, I was a little surprised, I love this kind of music and my last purchase of Stephen Halpern's Crystal Bowls was disappointing to say the least as it was filled with synthesizers and other cheesy New Age effects. This one is not and I wouldn't even lump it with a New Age tag (as the product description has). It' just truly beautiful music. The resonance is wonderful and the first chakra track is great for getting me, or my space back into alignment. Simply put it on in the background and clear your space. Wonderful! The other tracks on the CD have beautiful touches including shamanic instruments like the Buffalo drums, rattles, native flutes, rain sticks and other instruments. All appropriately added, expertly played and NO New Age cheese. What's interesting about it is that the CD recorded in one evening with no manipulations. I love reading books and listening to audio of people that have opened their heart - you can feel that in the work... in a similar way I think this is transmitted through music and it most definately is here.
I have since recommended and raved about this CD to all my friends. If you're a healer with a practice, you're going to want it for background music or just clearing your space. For everyone else, it's wonderful for relaxation and coming back into balance (put on your headphones for a real treat) or just some soothing music to play after a hard day or most definately for people who are not feeling well.
Other crystal bowl CDs I like include Benjamin Iobst Seven Metal Singing Bowls of Tibet and Crystal Voices by Deborah Van Dyke. Daniel Goleman's work is also fantastic - Chakra Dance, Chakra Chants and his Om CD (although all his work is good).
I highly recommend this beautiful CD. There are extra touches, with different instruments so if you're using it purely for meditation, that may distract you (as some other reviewers seem to have experienced). That is, I guess, a matter of personal preference - some people would be okay with the other instruments. It's the kind of CD where you that makes you go and buy everything the artist has ever produced. Of the hundreds of the healing type CDs I have, this is, and will remain, well and truly at the top of the heap. This might just be... the best crystal bowl CD ever!
Very good for meditation.......2007-01-11
I listened to this during my hospital stay on my iPod because I could not sleep. It helped me immensely.
Incredibly Healing and Soothing Sounds!.......2006-11-03
This CD, just like all Crystal Vibrations productions, is pure healing. I can always count on the first track (Chakra Alignment) to bring me back into balance and alignment. I also use this disc as a space clearing tool for my home... the high vibrations resonate throughout, leaving my space feeling warm and wonderful. A multi-purpose musical adventure... how can you resist?
Wow, Raising the Vibe!!.......2005-11-23
Pretty incredible music that makes everything I do while listening seem to happen effortlessly. It shifts and "tunes up" the energy in the room and in me! The Chakra alignment is like a warm up to the magic of all the other instruments that weave in and out of the singing bowls. So you can stay really focused and present or drift off into deeply meditative states. Listening to the soothing music on this CD is one of the best prescriptions you can give yourself! If you want to journey to the far reaches of the universe, treat your self to their CRYSTAL PORTAL CD and get Journey to Wholeness for taking care of everything else!!
Lighten Up, Chill Out and Recharge.......2005-10-17
This is my favorite of all the meditation and singing crystal bowl music I own and I have a huge collection. Initially, I used it for meditation in the morning before work and then again when I got home. It left me calm for the day and recharged at night. Then I thought to put it on while paying bills and doing stressful chores. The resonance of the crystal bowl tones had an immediate effect. I was able to focus and breathe with ease while I completed my tasks. The sound quality is superb and you get all the beautiful overtones that can only come on a live recording. And the effect is lasting. For a real vacation, listen to this CD with headphones.

Album Description
According to Stephen Holden, of The New York Times "The music of Phil Roy... accomplishes a delicate emotional surgery countless troubadours have tried, but few have been able to carry off. [Roy] describes personal experiences of love, loss and spiritual revelation with a naked honesty untainted by narcissism."
Holden joins the list of prominent music critics to hail `Issues + Options' as one of 2003's most compelling albums.
Customer Reviews:
MIddle of the Road.......2007-02-06
It's upbeat and the guy has a pleasant voice; he doesn't shrill and he can carry a tune. I give it a 3 because I bought the disc for a 1$ for one song "Undeniably Human" which someone had used in a youtubedotcom clip they put together. And yes, regrettable the rest of the album does sound a bit the same but since I really only like the one and it was only a dollar I'm not complaining.
The Sound Of Humanity.......2004-02-20
This is a marvelous body of such touching music- it's been just
two weeks since I received a copy of this CD, and it has etched itself into my psyche- I love it when new music can so infuse the consciousness that it will greet me upon waking and sustain my emotional infrastructure during the day- such a wide variety of raw emotion and feeling. It feels as though some of these words and songs were written to be heard by only a few loved ones- they are so very personal and vulnerable- The redemption we receive from these songs are only visited after being belted around
pretty heavily, but I'm grateful for the ride- Us older folk need a good whoop upside the head. I want to get a copy to each of my 4 kids- in their 20's, but some of the music is almost too intense!; none-the-less I will pass on this gem to them. God bless Phil Roy for such a raw and expressive heart, and the will to share his humanity/spirit with us.
Phil Roy is a treasure...........2004-02-04
Phil Roy has one of the most beautiful, plaintive singing voices I've ever heard. I'm 47 and my 27 year old friend turned me
on to his music a few months back. I'm hooked....it's beautiful and cannot lend the CD to someone else who'd like to listen.
an oassis.......2004-01-29
Issues + Options is a beautiful collection of songs about our human condition. Phil Roy not only writes about life in a way which we can all relate, his soulful voice makes it easy to connect. Sometimes soaring, sometimes sensitive, Phil Roy sings from his heart. This album is a gem, truly an oassis in what can be a wasteland of popular music. Surrounded by excellent musicians, Phil Roy has made an exceptional record of comtemporary songs, a must for real music lovers.
This is the worst!.......2004-01-24
Every track on this cd sounds alike. They consist of gruff whining and moaning, making the entire cd very annoying. It's my own problem, of course, because I bought two of his cd's, on the basis of listening to one 30 second sample. Just awful! Too annoying to even sleep through. Please. Someone can buy mine; they've been played only once.

Customer Reviews:
Boyd Comes Around.......2004-08-24
While many of Boyd's greatest moments have come in collaboration with his more celebrated cohort, Sherman Alexie, this incredible collection of songs confirms that Jim Boyd stands on his own with just as much grace and authority. Albums like "First Come, Last Served" suggest that a songwriting renaissance exists within the Native American community worthy of the glories that emerged from the American folk scene throughout the 60s and 70s. Boyd is one of those unusual talents who can express the private nightmares of his own heart in such an open and honest way that a much larger audience identifies with them. From "No Way's" biting and eloquent political angst to the flawless and poignant "Same Old Door," a song about turning one's back on drug and alcohol addiction, Boyd hits the notes that matter both with his words and his engaging musical arrangements. But for all his obvious discontent, Boyd's work celebrates as much as it laments. Songs like "Creator Way," for all their dour resignation, never lose sight of their hope in human fortitude, extolling the strength to "not fall apart." While overindulgences like the unlistenable "Powwow Highway 49" show that boyd is as capable of overproduction as he is of restraint, the album packs too much momentum for any one clunker to sink it. In "First Come, Last Served," Jim Boyd has served up a masterpiece -- clear and simple. Shame on Rolling Stone for failing to include Boyd in their "Rock 'N Roll Encyclopedia," when the man is writing some of the most sincere music to surface in a generation.
Jim's music really hits the HEART.......2001-12-22

Album Description
Chris Cunningham and John Hermanson of Storyhill are proud to announce their newest project: DUOTONES: A TRIBUTE TO DUOS OF THE '70's, a tribute record in which they cover songs of famous duos from the 1970's, such as Simon & Garfunkel, Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, and The Carpenters, among others.
Why do a cover record of '70's music? Chris says, "The music of the singer-songwriters of the 1970's was my first source of inspiration as a budding artist, so when the idea of Storyhill creating an album of cover songs of the 70's came up it struck a chord with me right away. It seemed like a great way to honor an era of artists that have informed and influenced our sound." John says, "Before we wrote our own songs, Chris and I were covering artists from John Denver to U2, Simon & Garfunkel to REM in coffeeshops in our hometown of Bozeman, Montana. After 11 records together we decided it was time to pay homage to the some of those artists who originally inspired us to make songs of our own."

NIIU...not N2U.......2005-12-28
I just bought this album...very disappointed!
I grew up listening to the "new up and comers" in NY, and in 1994-95, there was the group "NIIU" that came out with some SWEET vocals, and then faded out of oblivion. They produced a song called "I miss you" with some tight piano lyrics on the track, and it was one of the best albums I have heard in awhile. It's too bad that the name has been used again with NONE of the same players involved...
Email me if you liked this review.
(4.75 Stars) - Don't Sleep On N2U!!!.......2005-06-10
N2U is the product of Chris Stokes, who rose to fame with his groups IMX, B2K, and the female counterparts Gyrl and TG4. Whereas all those other groups focused entirely on their labelmates, along with dance cuts and sappy ballads, N2U strays away from the format; the result is a wonderful album that cannot be missed.
All of the songs are definitely worth listening to. This is one of those rare albums that you can play all the way through without skipping any. This album isn't for dance fanatics, for this is a very ballad-heavy album, but that's definitely not detrimental to it. This album simply WORKS.
Anytime you start off with an excellent intro, you know you have a soild album, and N2U does just that. "Because of You" is an excellent vocal masterpiece, with lovely vocals and excellent backdrop instrumentals. "Freakin' You (Set the Mood)" is excellent and has a lovely lead vocal with some serious backgrounds, with some good lyrics. By far my favorite two songs on the album.
What also makes this album work is the various subject matter. It's not all about "ooh baby, I love you forever", but N2U deals with some issues that go on in everyday life. "Baby Mama Love" is relatable to a lot of men, and the song works because it's nowhere near overdone vocally, production-wise, or lyrically. It sounds like it's read straight from someone's journal or thoughts. Interesting. Also, "Breakin' the Law" is a sexy song that tells you what a man is going to do to his lady, but not in a raunchy "et me lick you way", but also not having any cares about the act's surroundings. A lovely song at best! "Beauty" tells you how many people go to someone's looks to keep the relationship knowing that it can't keep it going. And the song is, again, not overdone at all. And of course, the hidden track "What Goes Around Comes Around" teaches us the old adage of karma. Beautiful.
Why 4.75 stars? First, because "Because of You" had the perfect potential to be a whole song and it was just an interlude. When it went off, I was like, no!!! I would have loved to hear a whole song of that. Also, Jermaine Dupri is the only guest star on this album and even he was unnecessary. N2U could have done this album without anyone! lol
All in all, this album is one of those rare finds that you have to have. It's such a shame that it's underpromoted and overlooked, for it is definitely a classic. It's funny that N2U shines where the other groups under Stokes has failed -- in the vocals -- yet doesn't get the recognition they deserve. Here's hoping that we get some more N2U played!
I'm so n2 N2U.......2005-05-27
The album is hot! Chris "The Brainchild" Stokes has struck Gold once again! N2U is taking people by storm. When I first saw the music video for "Issues", they won my support, nevertheless I support all the artists from TUG. With songs like "Baby Mama Drama" which conveys a realistic situation and "Breaking the Law" has some hot lyrics that puts a whole new twist on the title itself, it had me putting the cd on repeat. I can listen to this cd the whole way through and not get tired of it. So don't sleep on N2U,they will be around for some time to come!
makes you think of when music was good and hartful .......2005-05-06

--Sylvia W. Try this you won't be disappointed.......2000-10-12
In the day and age where most groups are categorized in to one type of music or another, it's good that there is something that combines more than one type of music on one CD. The vocals and the raps on this album are just plain good stuff. I'm down!
Why are people still sleeping on SFTP?.......2000-09-03
While "Issues" isn't nearly as good as their criminally overlooked self-titled debut from1995, it is certainly a step in the right direction following their last effort, 1997's lacklustre "This Time it's Personal". Musically SFTP deliver the slick grooves that we've come to expect. The production is very good throughout and it's not difficult to see why they're successful producers in their own right (having produced hits for Brandy, Eric Benét, Will Smith and Trina & Tamara) All in all, a very good effort from SFTP. And with tracks like "Bitch With No Man", "Where U At" and "Act Like You Want It" and guests like Trina & Tamara, Eirc Benét, "The Avirex to the Z" and Tash, I find it difficult to see how any fan of the groups previous efforts could be disappointed.
Somethin' for somebody not everybody.......2000-08-30
Although they made an effort, this album was far from excellent. The tracks don't carry much quality. As a matter of fact nor do the titles. It's okay when you want to have some background music but not words to listen to.

Amani's Issues of Life.......2002-09-20
This album has blessed me significantly.
Whenever I play it, I have to stop whatever I'm
doing and give praise to God. Amani is
an anointed singer and an exceptionally
blessed songwriter, as well. I am grateful
for his ministry and eagerly look forward
to his next release. I am seriously considering
giving everyone I know a copy of "Issues of Life"
as a Christmas present!
Awesome!.......2000-07-10
