This is by far the best chillout/ambient cd i have ever listened to. I find with chillout/ambient albums or compilations that either A: the tracks are to up beat/club or B: just plain boring. Every track selected for this cd is relaxing, soothing and filled with feeling and warmth. When i close my eyes all i can visualize is warm, sandy, beautiful beaches. Ive owned Cafe Mambo 2000 for almost a year now and it still does the trick. If your looking for an album to relax or if you just enjoy ambient music then definately pick this one up.

I'm a pretty tough person to talk into buying a cd. A buddy of mine owns every round piece of plastic ever made, and this was one of them. One night we were smokin non filters and watching some tapes from the gulf war...and this the perfect loungin music. I bet 5 of every 7 tracks get your head swingin.

I have never written a review before but this CD deserves it. It is by far one of the best Chill out mix compliatons I have heard in a very long time. I cant stop playing it. It has such a great emotional warm and deep vibe to it. Very smooth euro trance. I hope to find more CD's like this one. A MUST HAVE FOR SURE!!! Dont pass this one up people.

The first disc is a wonderful blend of chill out music. Why can't we get more club music like this in the states? The songs are simply hypnotic and just plain beautiful. I thought the second disc would tire me out since some of the club stuff can get a little monotonous. Not so! The second disc was quite a surprise. The pre club disc contains some wonderful jams with funky latin themes thrown here and there. I listened to that disc while I was at the gym and it had me burn 500 calories within 30 minutes it was so good. Wish we had a 24 hour radio station around here that plays great chill out music such as the kind found on Cafe Del Mar series and on the first disc with this release.

A new year, a new summer's past, and an onslaught of Ibiza chill-out compilations. This entry by (ahem) indie-dance champions Columbia, rounds up all the usual balearic suspects: Moby, Chicane, Groove Armada, and, er, Timo Maas, in almost-mixed form by Pete Gooding. Joining the cause are hot upstarts like Bent (contributing their lovely "Swollen") and a few clever picks such as Leftfield's deep-end excursion "El Cid."

Along the way hearing the Chill Out Mix you'll meet some old favorites from 1999 (Wamdue's "King of My Castle") and a couple of choices adding a jolt to the languid pace. Lovely on the whole, even if Thrillseeker's "Synaesthesia" shows the thin line between dreamy and dreary, that congenial if not always captivating music can be easily cranked out.

Now About that Timo Maas inclusion - realizing that 30+ tracks of downbeat musings could trigger many a listener Blue Period, Café Mambo wisely arranges the second disc as a pre-club mix to get the evening started (which you'll probably play out of order, of course.) The organic Freedom Reform take on Isolee's heavily favored "Beau Mot Plage" certainly has the club lights spinning, but the meat of the set bangs out the diva-garage-how-loud-can-I-sing numbers you'll love or skip in blocks. I suspect the latter. Pulling it out at the end, though, is the ever-popular "Doom's Night" and the Svek Remix of Laurent Garnier's sax workout "The Man With the Red Face."

House heads will get maximum bang for the buck; those not inclined have a high quality wind-down disc. Better in theory than execution, it still gets...Grade: B

HmMm.. I bought this CD like two weeks ago and i have to say for anyone who absolutely LOVES Trance, dance, clubby music will love this album! One of my favorite songs on here is "Heart of Asia!" Altough it does have many other great songs. Like the songs just mix together excellently. If you like Dream Dance Albulms you will like this a lot. Buy the CD its pretty g0od!
