Another Stone Classic From The First Lady Of Solar.......2007-05-13
Thanks Unidisc for allowing Carrie Lucas Fans the chance to enjoy this slamin' LP once again in CD format.....
Strong Ballad Section.......2007-02-10
I bought the 1982 LP and now the CD for the beautiful Monty Seward penned ballad, "Dreamer," as well as the other ballads, "Sweet Love" and "Still in Love." However, the more uptempo songs, especially "Show Me Where You're Coming From" and "Is It a Dream?" really round off this fine example of the Solar Records sound. Good '80s reminiscing.
Solar's Songbird.......2002-02-07
This album's a masterpiece. Lucas gets straight down to business with the funky but classy top 30 R&B hit, "Show Me Where You're Coming From" and doesn't seem to skip a beat as she boldly expresses her views on the energized monster jam "Men." Also Lucas gives a powerful and emotional performance on the Whispers' Nicholas Caldwell penned ballad, "Dreamer." This CD's a sure winner for any person who is a die hard Carrie Lucas fan.

Well, the album was good........2002-07-06
Well the album was good. What happened? Sound's like someone messed with the equalizer in the mastering department and turned up the treble and bass too loud. The bass sound's great but, man! The distortion in the treble area's is worse than fingernail's on a black board! I was disappointed. The track's Danceland and Dance With You, distortion is hardly noticeable but, it's there. Alas, don't think we'll EVER see another
pressing so, if you don't have it, and you know you like it, go ahead and get it. At least you don't have to deal with the scratches on the record particularly on Danceland. Thank you who ever you are for at least giving us Diva Carrie her Best
album ever on cd!
Solar's Disco Darlin'.......2002-02-15
On the critically acclaimed 'Danceland,' singer and songwriter extrodinaire Carrie Lucas triumphantly soars on this brilliant masterpiece as one of R&B/Dance music's brightest stars. During a time when it was alright to let loose and dance the entire night away, fans looked to divas like GLORIA, DONNA, VICKI, AND ANDREA for answers, but with hits like the seductive "Dance With You," "Are You Dancing," and the album's energetic title track, it proves that not only is Lucas all in a class herself but that she can hang with the very best of them. A voice remarkably dynamic, Lucas delivers with great impact on the heartfelt ballad "Sometimes a Love Goes Wrong," that includes help from labelmate pals the Whispers.
Sample Alert!!!!!.......2001-12-08
Attention trainspotters!!...... Armand Van Helden uses a chunk of Carrie's "Dance With Me" in his track "You Don't Know Me". Just thought you might like to know that morsel of information.
Oh yeah, the album is pretty good, but you realy must be a fan of cheesy, brassy, in your face disco/pop from the early eighties, otherwise you may cringe. I didn't cos quite frankly I love this stuff, its just so refreshing and upfront. With the current trend of sampling and recreating old disco riffs you could do far worse than to track down these original jams.
THE TRUE DISCO DIVA!.......2000-03-19
CARRIE LUCAS is the true diva of disco. oh, sure we all know about DONNA, ANDREA TRUE and GLORIA GAYNOR..but..CARRIE LUCAS stands supreme! sexy songbird will blow you away..the album is awesome!
