    Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Vince Neil rocks with Steve Stevens.......2004-09-08

"Exposed" is Vince Neil's first solo album. Man, it's great. Almost as good as any Crue album, this "Exposed" has no lowpoints. The masterminds are Vince Neil with former Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens. These guys now what they're doing. Fast songs, ballads, cool solos (SS shows he is much better than Mick Mars) and excellent lyrics and a lot of humour and rock and roll make this album anything but boring. I'd rather prefer "Exposed" to "Motley Crue"(the album without VN).
Vince Neil won't disappoint you with his debut. If you are into Motley Crue... or you just like 80's rock 'n' roll, this album is a must-have. PS: VNs next album, "Carved in stone" has nothing to do with "Exposed". Without SS, you'll find alternative, funky, hip-hop and Seattle stuff;it sucks, don`t even think about it. Of course, it's up to you to pay more money for the two bonus songs.

2 out of 5 stars Don't pay more money for the 2 bonus tracks..........2002-04-05

I bought Vince Neil's Exposed album the first day it came out, gave it a couple of listens that same night and instantly loved it. The pure energy of the music made this album shine.

About a year ago I found the Japanese import version of this album and bought it, despite its rather steep price (as most Japanese imports are costly). Of course, I bought it for the extra 2 bonus tracks, "Blondes Have More Fun" and the cover of The Ramones' classic tune "I Wanna Be Sedated." As much as I LOVE this album and always will, the 2 bonus tracks were a let-down. The first one, "Blondes Have More Fun," sounds absolutely *nothing* like the other songs on the album. I guess the title should have given this away. It's basically a fast swing-beat cha-cha song that's very forgetable. It's as if Vince along with his band recorded it for a little mindless fun stint after finishing this album and knew better than to include it on the regular version.

The other bonus track, a cover of "I Wanna Be Sedated," isn't bad. It has the same "punkish" sound that the classic Ramones version has. But again, it's very forgetable and you won't miss out on much if you never hear it.

So to sum up, buy this more expensive import version only if you're a die-hard Vince Neil completist. I suppose it makes a good conversation piece. But for the everyday Vince Neil fan, the bonus tracks aren't worth it and don't capture the greatness that the other songs on this album do. Stick with the U.S. version.
