Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars I Loved the Wild Compilations Until This Came Along.......2006-03-29

I started listening to Wild at Wild 16 - I think that was the first Wild Nights. Wild Weekends was pretty good, Wild Nights 2 was great, but the second disc of Wild Nights 3 was dissapointing. Still on the downfall, Wild Nights 4 is by far the worst yet.

The first disc is purely horrible. The ONLY song anyone will know or like is Eric Prydz's overrated "Call on Me". Everything else on the first CD is extremely mediocre, boring, and overall unmemorable. Oh yeah, I almost forgot about the remix of Kylie Minogue's good "I Believe In You".

The second disc is a lot better, but that's truly not saying much. Skip to track 5, and the remix of the 90s hit "Pump Up the Jam" by Technotronic is good. Track 8, Lasgo's "All Night Long" is pretty nice. DJ Tiesto's remake of the classical arrangement "Adagio For Strings" is OK, but he is way overrated. Ian van Dahl's "Inspiration" and Jan Johnston's "I Feel Wonderful" are the highlights of the album. Starsplash's remake of the ubiquitous "Cold as Ice" is pretty good, and Groove Coverage's new single "Runaway" is great. Scooter's "Shake That" is somewhat different from their previous tracks, sort of a tribal feel, but you'll like it anyway. Great party anthem. Lastly, a tranceformed remix of Ice Cube's "You Can Do It" ends the first disc with a bang. They've turned an unknown and mediocre rap song into a nice genre-bending trance/rap song. Cool. The megamix isn't anything special.

OK, so now onto the third disc. Oh sure, this is the 'best Wild ever' because of the music videos. Even though its a welcomed addition to the series, it can't cover for the horrible first disc. The good videos on this disc are as follows:

- "Just Be" by DJ Tiesto... an outstanding song, and a great video. Note: this is the Antillas Radio Edit.
- "Inspiration" by Ian van Dahl... if you were itching to hear the original version, this is it. A good video and song.
- "Poison" by Groove Coverage... it's become a classic.
- "Hungry Eyes" by Eyeopener... yep, that song from "Dirty Dancing". Possibly the weirdest choice for a cover, but they've done well.
- "Cha Cha Slide" by DJ Casper... now you can learn the dance so you don't look stupid at the next party.
- "Shake That!" by Scooter... covered this before.
- "Crazy" by Brooklyn Bounce... good, I guess.
- "Satisfaction" by Benny Benassi... another overrated one, but pretty good once your ears get used to it.
- "Beware of the Boys" by Panjabi MC... weird but it'll stick in your head, I promise.
- "Zombie Nation" by Kernkraft 400... nothing needs to be said.

So, stick to the second CD and the videos, but even that can't save this album. Seriously, I'd buy this album solely for the videos, because they're hard to get. But don't buy it looking for non-stop awesome songs.

The album gets a C-. Bad? Mhmm.
