However, seeing as these tracks have been "mixed together" in an attempt to create a non-stop party mix, it just fails to maintain the feel that prior editions of the MuchDance series had. While some tracks seem better mixed (Beyoncé to Justin Timberlake; Ashanti to Lumidee), othere, like Timberlake to 50 Cent just stop and allow the next track to begin. Some tracks just don't seem to fit the mix all together. Aguilera's "Fighter" seems out of place among hip-hop beats, and the groove seems slowed down by the album version of Kelly Clarkson's "Miss Independent". Fact is, remixed versions of these tracks could have worked much better than the versions used.
All in all, I'm not saying this is a bad CD. I actually love driving while listening to these hits. I just wish that MuchMusic would begin investing in some of the remixers they used for previous editions of this series, like those used for the 1997 and 1999 discs.
