Comments on a few favorite songs.......2007-06-06
I am not going to offer up a review of the entire album. There are MANY talented folks here who have done a much better job of it than I ever could hope to, so what's the point? I'd just like to offer up my 2 cents on my favorite songs from this great Moody Blues work.
First off is John Lodge's classic, feel-good rocker 'Ride My See-Saw'. (This tune and 'I'm Just a Singer' frequently trade places as my favorite Moodies song). I might as well admit it right now: I am a HUGE John Lodge fan and he is my fave Moody. That will become glaringly apparent if you read any more of my Moody Blues product reviews. Am I the least bit biased towards this living legend? Not at all! While I am not totally sure of the exact meaning of the lyrics, on the surface RMSS seems to be rife with double entendres and sexual innuendo, at least that's what I've read many times. But knowing of JL's deep religious beliefs, I strongly guess that that's not the case at all. This song is just plain fun to listen and sing along to. John and Justin's great guitar work ain't none too shabbily showcased either. RMSS is John Lodge at his rocking best.
I am also a big fan of Ray Thomas' often overlooked (and in my opinon) under-used talents. His ode to 'Dr. Livingstone' is a cheery, cute song that I could listen to all day long while having a goofy smile on my face. Ray's next offering, 'Legend of a Mind' is a legend of a song, and perfectly shows off this man's awesome vocal skills, not to mention the fact that he can blow the living tar out of a flute. This song has the best series of build-ups (for lack of a better word) and crescendos of any song I have ever heard. (You'll have to over-look the fact that I am not at all musical nor versed in music lingo, so that's the best description I could give. I hope most will understand what I'm talking about). I can literally listen to this song over and over w/o growing tired of it. The subject matter of this song doesn't matter to me one iota. The melody, the beat, the musicianship, and John's fabulous high note harmonies all combine to make this song a pure delight to my ears.
Next on my list is Lodge's 'House of Four Doors'. I'll spare you the details of how great I think this song is. I'll briefly just state that HOFD is hauntingly eerie and beautiful all at the same time. Maybe- just maybe- I could have done w/o 'some' of the sound effects of the creaking door, but hey John didn't ask me for my opinion before including them. It really doesn't affect my overall opinion of this great song. Yes, it's a John Lodge tune, and yes I darn well love it.
I am ending my little synopsis with two songs from the sublime Justin Hayward.(BTW, I like him, too. He's my 2nd fave Moody). Firstly is 'Voices in the Sky'. I have to admit that it took me a while to really love and appreciate this one (I don't exactly know why) but it is a truly lovely song. This song DOES make me wonder what the birds could say to me if they only could. As usual, Justin does a superb vocal and the song fits him and this album really well. But.... my favorite Hayward tune on this record is by far 'The Actor'. In fact, it's one of my all-time favorite songs of his. Both the lyrics and the sound of this song are as timeless today as when JH penned it many years ago. Something in this song really strikes a chord in me. Perhaps it's the fact that we all tend to put on a good front for the world and get caught up in playing our little roles? I heard Justin sing this song live recently and I have to say the man's voice sounds just as good as it did way back when. He truly is a gifted singer, guitarist and performer.
Well, I guess I'm just about through telling y'all (I'm from the South, after all) about my favorite songs from ISOTLC. I hope this "review" makes someone want to go and listen to these songs (or the entire album) anew- or better yet- hear them for the very first time. Either way, I do hope you enjoy!
My personal favorite.......2007-04-15
I own 14 Moody Blues albums and this is my favorite one . The band's ability to learn 37 different instument including Mike Pindar's mastery of the mellotron is remarkable all in and of itself . The album contains my favorite Moody Blues song , Voices In The Sky . While this album never received the critical acclaim that was given to Days Of Future Passed , it was more like the other 5 concept albums . Yes , the material is some what dated , but , this is the begining of the art rock era . Any one who likes the band should own this .
almost perfect moody blues album! 4.75 stars.......2007-03-19
Though it doesnt contain a song like the epic beautiful "nights in white satin" the Moodies second album from 1968 is their most pyschedelic and solid album of their career. This album segues nicely into a track by track tour of what the end of pyschedlia and the beginning of progrock sounded like. There isnt really a song i dislike and this fits in nicely with the best of the post summer of love albums. Lots of flute mellotron sitars and instruments played by the band themselves. Lost chord is a very strong followup to days of future passed and exceeds it in material for me. Great acoustic guitars and truly great singing all mingled in with LSD musical interludes( though apparantly without drugs). A few moments recall early Pink Floyd late Beatles etc but the Moody Blues were a special band for a time-1967-1972 in my humble opinion. Their first three albums are all excellent but this is the one to get. This one seems heavily influenced by George Harrison Ravi Shankar- with most of the album flaoting by a in a mellow transcendental state. Great for evening listens sunday mornings and for contemplation.
House of 5 incredible musicians and songwriters.......2007-01-30
Locked in a studio for a few weeks, the Moodies come up with an "orchestral" sounding album. It's a little dated at times, but it's wonderfully spacey and good.
To Reach The Chord Is Our Life's Hope.......2006-11-13
Terrific follow-up to Days Of Future Passed. It's all here again-the spoken word poems, the concept album; everything but the orchestra. But this is even more accesible than Days because of the shorter, more radio friendly songs. And "Ride My See Saw" literally rocks! Great album.

Great music, great price.......2007-05-07
I ordered this cd for a book club I was hosting on the book "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. It was perfect "mood" music for the discussion and the price was unbeatable!
Definitely Meditative.......2007-03-09
The gift that these men are able to share is worth listening to. To be quiet in yourself and allow space for this soulful chanting is an experience in itself.
Gregorian Meditation.......2007-01-13
Great CD. My wife and I listen to it almost daily. We even use it for prayer sessions. Also the product was in perfect condition and and was as advertised. We're totaly satified.
Beautiful.......2007-01-13
I have bought Volumes I and II and am very pleased with the quality, the sound, and the style of the chanting. The lyrics are amazing, many of which come straight from the Bible, especially from the Book of Psalms. Let me know of other great Chant CD's, be they Gregorian, Amabrosian, or even Greek/Byzantine.
Gregorian Chant Gems.......2005-08-27
It is wonderful to hear again the chants that are familiar to all Catholics who grew up with the Latin Mass and who remember the plain chants from the Liber Usualis. Victimae paschali laudes (the Sequence from the Easter Mass), Gaudens gaudebo in Domino (Rejoicing, I shall rejoice in the Lord), Pueri hebraeorum (the beautiful entrance song to the Palm Sunday Mass), and all the other chants. They are performed by a choir that understands the beauty and simplicity of Gregorian Chant.

Customer Reviews:
Fantastic.......2007-01-19
I really liked the compilation. It relaxes and inspires me. The recording of the vocals and such is very well done. Definitely worth the money.
Unusual order.......2006-06-10
The chanting is excellently done. However, the order is a bit unusual. The chants begin with Lent/Passiontide, then progress into Easter, Advent and Christmas. That's a little odd. If you're using this to focus on the life of Our Blessed Lord (like the 15 mysteries of the Rosary), the order is off kilter. But I guess you could just program your CD player with whatever order you want.
The Latin is pronounced well on this CD. (Sometimes you can get a chant CD on which the chanters have French accents.)
Note to the reviewer who was mad about the word "cult": Forgive the translator who used that word. It sounds like a false cognate error to me. The ones who are hardest for me to forgive are those who discontinued Gregorian chant's primacy of place in the liturgy; the ones I can never understand are those who go to Novus Ordo masses. Lex orandi, lex credendi.
Getting Lost While Meditating.......2006-05-18
I'm not an expert on meditation techniques, but I do know that once while listening to this album I woke up 50 miles from my house with nothing to clothe me but a piece of chiffon, an interesting recipe for perogies tucked under my armpit, and absolutely no recollection of what had taken place. I was lead to believe by this product that being "lost" in meditation would entail no more than some deep thinking, and not many hours of unaccounted for experience and celtic tribal tattoos wrapped around my thighs.
Calming, Centering, a bit repetitive.......2006-02-21
This CD is great for creating a calm, focused environment. It can be used for meditation, relaxation,or as a sleep-aide. I have not stayed awake past the 3rd track when I listen with headphones after laying down to bed. The only complaint may be that all the tracks sound similar to me. The quality of the recording and singing is excellent. If you speak and understand Latin, you should derive even more from listening to this CD.
Great Atmospheric Music.......2005-08-23
I am a fan of many styles of music, but ordering a CD of gregorian chant was a stretch for me. This is my first album of the genre, but I'm certainly not disappointed! Lost In Meditation: Meditative Gregorian Chants Volume One is everything you'd expect it to be. With gregorian chant music, there never seems to be too much diversity in the songs. This is because you shouldn't buy the music as if it were your favorite band -- it is completely atmospheric music. Whether used for meditation, background music to everyday activities, or a soundtrack to a much needed relaxation session in your solitude, gregorian chant is a peaceful and almost heavenly way to enjoy some time off in another world (often in a world where you can't help but imagine monks shifting through the humble rooms of a monastery). This particular selection of chants is perfect for the genre as far as I'm concerned. It is an all men choir, and the vocals are in perfect harmony. The recording quality is excellent, with just the right amount of reverb to bring the singing to life. For any fan of gregorian chant, or for anyone newly interested in it, this is a great CD to satisfy your chanting needs. And with a price like this for 21 tracks, you can't go wrong!

Baby loves this mucic!.......2007-02-17
Puts our 6-week old daughter to sleep. What more could you ask for!
Music to her ears!.......2006-11-04
One of the first things I bought for my infant daughter was a collection of the Baby Einstein cd's, and I'm so glad I did! My girl just loves to listen and brightens up everytime the orchestra tunes up at the start of the cd. It is simplified, so not as thrilling for mom, but no real complaints... It certainly beats the Wiggles.
ok.......2006-02-15
This CD is just ok. I like the "Baby Needs..." collection much better. The music in this CD is nice, but some of it is fast paced and does not work well to listen to during nap time. My son seems to enjoy it, though. It is nice for playtime.
Ugh! Glorified Music-Box Music.......2005-12-04
My husband and I are fans of classical music with a substantial CD collection. When we found out we were pregnant, I picked up the Baby Beethoven CD from my local library to see what it was like.
It's glorified music box music... some of the pieces are almost impossible to distinguish without checking the jewel case for the name.
If you really want to expose your child to Beethoven, don't waste your time with this CD. For soothing sleepy-time music, try "Beethoven at Bedtime."
A Classy Classical CD.......2005-04-15
Classical music makes your baby smart? Who cares what the "experts" say? As a mom, I judge any children's music CD by how often my kids ask to hear it. And Baby Beethoven CD gets two tiny thumbs up! My 5-year-old daughter has enjoyed this music since she was small (we also own the VHS tape). Now her younger sisters love it, too. The play list of 19 selections ranges from soothing symphonies, such as Symphony No. 6 in F major ("Pastoral"), to lively sonatas, like the Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor ("Pathétique") that inspire my girls to leap and twirl across the room. And that makes this CD a smart buy.

You know, they didn't actually go away.......2007-07-07
I've noticed in various metal publications (as well as the reviews here) that Paradise Lost's 2007 album In Requiem is being hailed as a "return to form" and the band's best album since 1995's Draconian Times. What exactly did the band have to "return" from? I suppose Host and Believe in Nothing could be considered below Paradise Lost's usual high standards, but One Second, Symbol of Life and Paradise Lost were all fantastic albums. In Requiem is simply the logical extension of those recent works.
I will grant that In Requiem seems like a tighter, more focused album than its predecessors. The band seems far more interested in writing good metal songs than in coming up with dance beats, which is fine by me. Once again, Paradise Lost demonstrates why no one can touch them when it comes to balancing a dark atmosphere and subject matter with completely irresistible melodies (see for example, songs like Enemy and Beneath Black Skies). There isn't a lot of experimentation, nor are there any Dead Can Dance or Smiths covers this time around. Of course, I tend to think that Paradise Lost can do whatever they want at this point, considering the fact that they pretty much invented the whole gothic metal genre.
So yeah, it's a really solid album. I just think that most of the praise it is receiving could just as easily have been heaped upon either of the band's previous albums. I do think that the cover artwork for In Requiem is one of the best, if not the best, of the band's album covers to date.
Paradise Lost has been rediscovered!.......2007-06-25
I agree with the comments from the previous review. This CD is really good. Paradise Lost is back in top form with this release and it's about time; the last album that I really liked was Draconian Times, and that was over 10 years ago! I had bought a few other post Draconian Times albums and was sorely disappointed. I had just about forgotten about Paradise Lost when I decided to risk buying this and I am not disappointed. This is what they should have done years ago, but better late then never!
Very heavy & melodic.......2007-06-19
I've been a Paradise Lost fan since Draconian Times. I think this is their best effort in years and might even be my favorite album from them. It's on constant rotation on my MP3 player. Notable tracks are "Never for the Damned", "The Enemy" and "Praise Lamented Shade" which is a very dark and churning song. Very passionate vocals and melodies. This is a great release from a great band.

It is a perilous proposition when genres clash--and no such collaboration is more potentially fraught than when improvisation-trained folk musicians sit in with Western classical instrumentalists, who are taught to interpret a printed score. The renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma has devoted much of his professional life to such intercultural experiments. But the traditions of nations situated along the ancient Silk Road, which began in the Far East, meandered through Asia and terminated in Europe, are especially dear to him. These lushly arranged pieces range from moody scenic vistas to percussive Turkish hip-shakers and they make very pleasant listening. If they owe more to the European canon than the ethnic sources that inspired them, they are also the result of respectful give-and-take between a team of acknowledged masters. And nobody is more of a team player than Maestro Ma, an impassioned, fearless musical seeker and a gracious, deferential colleague. --Christina Roden

Customer Reviews:
delightful experience.......2007-07-04
this collection of music is quite a cultural experience. I've been hooked since I opened the cover!
Excellent Compilation with Marvelous Tracks.......2007-01-20
I enjoyed this compilation of Silk Road music very much. It delivers a nice, diverse sample of music from the region. My favorite track of the CD is Shikasta, but I like the others as well.
Beyond the first Silk Road CD.......2006-11-23
Yo-Yo Ma went beyond indeed. The first CD with Silk Road ensemble (When Strangers Meet) was inconsistent and somewhat experimental. This one however, is superb. As if in the 5 years the musicians got to know each other (but in truth, only a few musicians are the same). 23 traditional Eastern instruments are listed plus a number of western strings and other percussion was used. So the music on this CD gets my full attention, and as the title of first track suggests, you (can) get enchanted.
The tracks are ordered into three parts: Enchantments (1-5), Origins (6-9) and New Beginnings. First track is strangely familiar (like it was used in some film, but there is no mention of this). In third track this theme gets Chinese interpretation. The style from one track to the other changes, so you can't get bored or overexcited. Second is simply very nice, the fourth great intro of Armenian wind instrument duduk (played by famous Gevorg Dabaghyan), accompanied by percussion mostly, albeit the piece is short. 5 is gentle with cello and xun (Chinese ocarina), 6 orchestral from slow to cool, 7 again gentle with cello and vocal, 8 starts with yearning duduk and turns into orchestral battle, 9 cello and percussion. Track 10 is the only one with prominent vocal (love song) and introduces us to the last part of CD, which are more like jam sessions of all instruments. 11 and 13 are very lively. The last one, track 15, brings us a new interpretation of very ancient Chinese melody played on pipa.
Some would probably say this CD is commercialized. Personally I don't see any wrongdoings in this as long the music stays a high quality one. For the more authentic Silk Road one can always buy The Silk Road: A Musical Caravan.
Excelent!!!.......2006-01-15
One of the best concerts I attended in my life (so far... :-)...)
One of the Best !.......2005-12-06
This album has captured the soul of the Silkroad. There is not a single track in this album I don't like. I've been listening to it over and over and over again since I first got it. I think it's much better than the first one.

Ultimate music for every time of day and every mood.......2007-07-03
With 20 CDs in the collection, we have classical music for every mood and atime of day.
Would give 5 stars if sound quality where better.......2007-06-30
This Classical collection is one of great length and breadth ,and is well worth purchasing ,if you want an abundance of music at a low price. The sound quality is decent, however it is not great. This set will not provide you with the crisp, clear sound quality of a RCA,CBS or other well known label,so some classical aficionados may not appreciate it much.It all depends on what your looking for ,I guess.
Great collection for a great price.......2007-06-27
I did not expect much in buying this collection, but I was greatly surpeised. There were no reviews of the product at the time, and I bought the collection simply as a sampler of many great piano pieces. Most of the recordings are exquisite and of decent recording quality. This collection was well worth the price.
20 Fabulous Discs.......2007-06-08
I am surprised that this set has been out for 4 years and nobody reviewed it here yet. This is a lovely and occasionally amazing compilation. I was moved by many of the compositions. I really enhanced my classical music collection with this set. You have so many legends here to enjoy, from Bach to Brahms, Mozart to Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Gershwin, and more. If you love classical piano music and don't already have most of these works then this is a must buy for you. The price may go up, but I was fortunate to cash in on the $17.97 price. Quite a bargain for 20 fabulous discs.

Customer Reviews:
Fabulous for any Broadway-lover.......2007-01-30
Packs into 5 CD's a sampling of Broadway tunes from the 20's thru (almost) today, mostly from original cast recordings. Includes not just well-known hits, but also some lesser-known gems. Sound quality is first rate, booklet is informative too. Have given this as a gift to several friends with rave reviews.
Top Shelf.......2007-01-04
This is THE definitive collection of Broadway hits. I have other collections, and none of them measure up. A great deal of care was obviously taken in compiling and presenting this box set. It covers a lot of ground, starting with some long-forgotten but still very enjoyable hits from the days of yore, and finishing with present-day favorites. To the best of my knowledge, the recordings are by those who made them famous. You won't be disappointed.
TERRIFIC CD'S.......2006-03-23
THESE BROADWAY MUSICALS CD'S ARE A BROADWAY LOVERS DREAM. WITH EACH SONG, MEMORIES COME FLOODING BACK. BOTH THE FAMILIAR AND THE FORGOTTEN SONGS ARE A TRUE LISTENING PLEASURE. IF YOU LIKE BROADWAY, YOU'LL LOVE THIS SET.
Great Collection of Broadways greatest Songs .......2005-06-14
This Collection was perfectly made it has almost all the most famous Broadway songs on this 5 cd set. The Music is great and has Broadways greatest treasures like "Memory""People""With One Look""Give my regards Too Broadway" just to name a few of this numerous cd set with over 100 songs. This is a great buy if you like musicals or The music of Broadway
Great Compilation!.......2005-01-17
If you are a fan of the Broadway Musicals, this is a collection that you should purchase. Since I got the 5 disc set I've enjoyed listening to it. The majority of the songs are done by the original singers. The collection is priceless considering that you will have over 100 songs from popular musicals since the beginning of Broadway

Album Description
2 CD set. After helping lay the groundwork for concept albums and progressive rock with 1967's orchestra-enhanced suite Days Of Future Passed, the Moodies retrenched for the follow-up. They abandoned the orchestra but kept their sound as rich as before by playing a multitude of instruments themselves, including everything from sitar to cello to oboe. At the time, it was remarkable enough for these instruments to appear on a rock record, much less to be played by the band itself. The string-laden conceptual pieces of Days were replaced by shorter, more concise songs that leaned more toward Beatlesque pop and displayed a pronounced Eastern influence. In Search Of The Lost Chord is the most exotic, trippy album in the Moodies' catalog. Polydor. 2006.

The Best When They were a Quintet.......2007-07-10
The Moody Blues were a rock and roll band who expanded its range. However they have become one-dimensional without the songwriting of Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas and Graham Edge. Ride My See-Saw, House of Four Door, Legend Of A Mind all of this variety made the Moody Blues a Dynamic group. Not that Justin Hayward did not have a strong part to play in the sound, with strong songs. But it is something definitely missing in the new sound of the Moody Blues
2006 DELUXE VERSION, BUT NOT HYBRID...?.......2007-06-15
I just received this Deluxe 2 CD set from a reputable seller, but there is no mention
of it being a Hybrid SACD anywhere in the package. The sound is excellent, but if
you want the H-SACD version you might want to inquire with the seller first.
The editorial review above states that this set is from Polydor. My version is
Deram/Decca. Copyright 2006 Decca Music Group Ltd. A Universal Music Co.
The sound I have heard in your hello.......2007-06-13
Okay, yes this seems to be a stereo only SACD but in my humble opinion, it has never sounded better and I know the MFSL versions as well as just about every other version out there. Having grown up around this album, I can honestly say that there are things on here that I've never even noticed before. The echo that Tony Clarke uses on here gives this album an almost ghostly feeling that really comes through on this version. the backing vocals on Voices In the Sky sound like a heavenly cosmic chior. Justin's acoustic has never come across better than it does on this version but really the same can be said for every thing else. Ray's flute on Visions Of Paradise reminds me of light drifting through the cosmos. One of my all time favorite Moodies songs, the Actor sounds so clean and the drums are so crisp that I think I've fallen in love with it all over again. the bonus disc is a wonderful addition and I'm glad that they aqdded Michael's A Simple Game as this was the only problem with the original version of the album as it was only a single B side to one of the songs here. It's also nice to hear Justin try it although Mike's is the keeper. The two outtakes that originally appeared on + 5 actually fit better here What Am I Doing Here and King And Queen have never sounded better. the live stuff is wonderful. It's a shame that the SACD format has gotten such a bad rap with some as I myself would love to see other artists and bands put out more SACD's. Imagine SACD albums by artists like King Crimson and Traffic.
Awesome.......2007-04-11
Wow! I can hardly wait to purchase the others in this series. Listening to classic Moodies "is the best way to travel." My "astral plane" is still flying!
SACD vs. MFSL.......2006-08-15
I'll never give a Moody Blues album from the classic era less than four stars, and this week this one is my favorite. The music is a solid 5, with one less star for the remastering. A lot of people ask me about the difference between the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab masters and the SACD versions of the Moody Blues CDs. I have essentially every version so I have compared them extensively. (Yes, I'll even compare them for friends. Sometimes.) The first thing I noticed on this was the over-compression someone else commented on. Yes, the world has gone mad. The MFSL versions have spatial imaging that puts the SACD versions to shame. The pristine tonality makes the music come alive, especially if you've only heard the "remastered" CD versions (Remastered=Compressed in most cases - to make it play "louder"). I purchased the SACD versions for the extra tracks primarily. If you don't mind paying a premium price for used CDs I recommend the Mobile Fidelity versions, but any Moody Blues CD is wonderful.

One of the original crossover rockabilly/country albums.......2007-04-23
I remember looking through the bins in my favorite record store in Tucson AZ in the early 70's when this one caught my eye - Cool band name, great title and comic cover art - it had it all! I bought it without knowing anything about the band based solely on the cover. I'm so glad I did!! I've had the album (recently updated to a CD) for 35 years and still tap my toes to it and sing along. My favs: Back to Tennesee, Wine Do Yer Stuff, Seeds and Stems. Sure do miss "Hot Licks, Cold Steel & Other Truckers' Favorites" - Please bring that back!!
Ozona Florida.......2007-04-22
I had to go to a wedding rehearsal one Friday night in 10BC but opted to go see CC&TLPA opeining for BYRDS at the Armory. (With my sneaky little girlfriend in a Monkeyfur coat)
After the set, I saw Billy C hiking toward the concession stand.
"Nice set man!" I said
"Uh Huh" was all he said back.
Lost in the Ozone was a sleeper then, known to many Florida musicians but not the run-of-the-mill Country crowd.
My, how time has grown and flown. These guys are an INSTITUTION like The Outlaws, Asleep at the Wheel, Greazy Wheels or Moby Grape....And "Ozone" put them out there in fine fashion with a good mix of old and new material. Eventually older folks were humming along to Family Bible as if it was always done that way.
Plenty of richness in this atmosphere.......2006-12-01
A hippie era relative introduced Commander Cody to me some years ago, and I've been hooked ever since. The truck stop music is unmistakably American and quite catchy (unless you find all things American to be gauche), the songs occaionally in turns counter-cultural (e.g., about dope smoking) or traditional (e.g., about the family Bible). Though I have most of the Commander's discs, this one is my favorite.
I'd love to see the Commander live, not only to hear them play but to soak in the ambience of the venue and crowd.
Lost in the Ozone, but found on Amazon.......2006-11-05
"Lost in the Ozone" by Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airman is one of the classic underground records of the late 60's and early 70's that while not enjoying "Top 10" status, has remained a sense of notoriety. The irreverence of Commander Cody hides true musicianship as is heard on this album. "Hot Rod Lincoln" is probably the most famous track, but one of my favorites is also "Stems and Seeds Again." The situation of the sinder of this song is that all of the most terrible things in the world have fallen down onto him: he's lost his job, lost his girlfriend, his house has been repossessed and his dog has died. But to add insult to injury, he's "Down to seeds and stems again, too." What more can I say? I loved this album 35 years ago and it still is as fresh today as it was then.
Commander's First Album..........2005-12-08
It's great, and some say they never topped it. I've never found an album put out by these guys that I didn't like. This album was a statement of things to come...a great album, but when you get right down to it, they where a live band, a bar band, and best heard in that form. But this album is great, buy it. Beware of MCA bastardizatoin. The cover art & liner notes are GONE on the CD issue. Too bad.
