    I've heard of this group for quite some time and decided to check out their debut release, Blue Zero One! Once again we have an overlooked talent that would put the likes of Herbert, Massive Attack and Portishead to shame. Blue Zero One is so tight that I can't begin to explain--just know that it is an original and ambitious endeavor that utilizes styles of electronic ambience, jazz, soul and funk. It opens with "Yes It's True" that would make Herbert proud...then it moves on to the super-chilled "People Come Running" which made me first pay attention to Taxi. Next is the jazzy "No Way Talk" that showcases some spectacular vocals from songtress, Jo Laundy. From there you hear the ominous and thought-provoking "Devil" and onto the steady-thumpin' "Take What You Want" that was featured on the London Lounge disc. "Rely on Me" is a nominal dance floor track that will get those hips gyratin'. Up next is the sexy soundin' "Want"--just listen to those lyrics!!! Taxi's not through yet. "Tell Me" is another funky, laid-back groove that speaks of the troubles of today. "An Other Day" is "An Other" awesome track with a killer groove and original tell-it-like-it-is lyrics. After that is the sultry, "I Just Can't Win." "Black and Blue" is another powerful (and slightly melanchonic) song that speaks on domestic abuse. And last is "Lovefool" that finishes Blue One Zero nicely with some abstract funk and again spectacular vocals and lyrics from Laundy. I don't know which one moves me more on this disc Laudy's soulful vocals or the beautiful music...but both work well together offering a new and innovative sound that I wish more people would get hip to. Highly Recommended!

    Este cd es de lo mejor que he escuchado en muchisimo tiempo con su mezcla de acid jazz y trip-hop y las bases musicales en algunos casos parecidas a las del ultimo disco de Herbert me lo he pasado escuchandolo desde que lo compre y es tan original que en cada audicion le descubro nuevos matices.Sirvance una copa prendanse un habano (o lo que sea que ustedes fumen)y que lo disfruten
