Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars My favorite of the series so far.......1999-10-26

When I first played it my brow was furled over the Shirley Bassey redition of Light My Fire, but even that track has grown on me. Oba, La Vem Ela is probably the sweetest lilting Brazilian groove I own. (Too bad Jorge Ben didn't record more stuff like this!) Tracks 2-7 are all intriguing in their own ways: Gotta love Tania Maria scatting on Transamazonica. Odetta preaches the truth on Hit or Miss. If you like Dyambo by Hugh Masekela here you should checkout Verve's reissue of Hugh's "The Boys Doin' It." Sunny by James Brown and Dee Felice - where in the hell did they find this? - pretty funny listening to JB's idea of a sensitive interpretation. UH! My 2 favs come at the end: Edwin Birdsong doing Easin' In...so smooth, so hip so bad (who IS this guy? anyone know?). Try to Relax by Ballin' Jack leaves me in such soulful reverie that I usually want to play the disc over again. Keep 'em coming Mojo. I gotta get my self over to Hamburg for a Saturday night one of these days.

4 out of 5 stars not only for Mojo Clubbers.......1999-09-11

Mojo Club (from Hamburg, Germany) is surely one of the leading clubs in Germany. They play such a good music that the only thing you can do there is: calp your hands and move you hips. If you like cool ambient with jazzy, brazilian influences plus more - buy it!. Any of the Mojo-records (with exception of no. 8) that you buy, won't be any waste of money. It is only up to you, if you like a retro-music redefined in a new way. The only problem that i can see, is a price - so maybe you should just wait a bit, and get it in Germany. It would cost you less - believe me.
