Direction Records unleash Planet Funk's narcotic pop groove 'The Switch'. The track was originally released on the 2003 album Non Zero Sumness, and received massive DJ support from the likes of Pete Tong, Steve Lawler and more. After being featured on heavy rotation as part of the TV advertising campaign for Mitsubishi, Sony were flooded with requests from radio stations and members of the public demanding that it be re-released. 2005.

Top Gun meets HOT Gun!.......2005-12-12
Have you guys seen the video for this single? It is fabulous! An absolute rip of Tom Cruise's "Top Gun" and not only that but Will Young looks HOT in an Air Force uniform.
It's also a great song, really catchy, with good lyrics, a funky beat and some hot action in the sky with jet planes flying over each other and four men vying with each other to be the "Hot Gun" of the song title rather than the "Top Gun."
Will Young strikes me as being a competent actor as well as a great singer, he does an excellent job in video, and I love the bit when he and his flying partner woe the Kelly McGillis look alike in the bar, it's so tongue in cheek you have laugh as you jiggle your body to it.
Five out of five for sheer cheekiness and fun.

R&B Remix to Switch is all you need........2007-04-06
I hate the original. I'll be point blank. I think it's trash. I didn't know what Will was thinking with that version. But then I remembered the MIB2 (Black Suits Comin) song...and then it made sense.
Then I heard the R&B Remix to Switch, and I was hooked. THIS is what Will Smith is good at, this style is perfect for him and leaves him at the top of his game. I don't think it's a sampled beat, or if it is, it's a very minimal sample, because I don't recognize it. It's just good.

This is just down right AWSOME. This is a CD you play loud and repeatedly. Totally enjoy the song and the remix's are a blast.
Growing Up With Will Smith.......2005-08-19
Will Smith, there are so many ways to describe him-he's funny, cute, a great actor/performer, etc. He has been one of my all time favorite actors, and performers since I was a little girl. All the way back to when The Fresh Prince of Bellaire came on TV. Everything he does, he does well, no matter if it's music, acting, or even something has simple as an award show. I would have to say he is one of the best in Hollywood.
The song Switch, as so many know is an all out good song. I dance to it in my car as I'm cruising down the street, dance to it in the club; I even have my five year old jamming to it. It's one of those songs that just makes me want to move, and be happy all at the same time. There is a good vibe I get from the song Switch; I also feel the goodness from the artist. I don't see many artists out now days that I feel comfortable letting my kids listen to, and Will Smith is one of the good ones.
I notice that no matter what, Will Smith never loses his cool, and always takes things with a smile on his face. Mr. Smith seems to always stay focused on whatever it is he is doing, and while having fun stays very professional. Even though the song Switch is more of a clubbing and an up beat song, there is nothing obscene within it. The song is just for hanging out and having a good time, I personally enjoy it very much.
Will Smith has grown up with so many of us young adults, and a lot who have idealized him. Will, even though in the big spotlight, has never changed his ways. He is still the goofy kid with the big ears, just in a grown mans body. Will hasn't turned in to the typical movie or music star, where the high life gets to them. I believe he will always be the same great artist, and hopefully he will continue down the path he is taking.
I believe the song Switch is one of those songs that people of all ages can enjoy. Will Smith is going to be around for a long time coming, whether it's in music or movies. Anything he does professionally is good in my eyes, and I will continue to be a supportive fan for him. Everyone should listen to the song Switch at least once, and I bet heads will be bobbing.

How many copies of one CD can a person own?.......2006-09-08
Well, here I sit with yet another copy of Switch. This version has live recordings from Switched on Tour. There is a great version of Pretty Vegas, the song born on the reality show when JD Fortune refused to put his name on the sorry tune that Jordis, Marty and Jessica wrote choosing instead to write his own song. There is also a great version of Hungry, a song that is ten times better live. A live version of Devils' Party, the song that JD and Andrew began writing during the last reality episode of the Rock Star: INXS show, is included and is excellent. Finally, a live version of Hot Girls is included. Pay particular interest to this tune as there is a catchy rap added by JD toward the end of the song (this rap is worth the price of the CD). Also, included is some rare footage of the making of Switch which includes clips of Marty, Mig and JD in the recording studio singing Hot Girls. Let me just say, if there was ever a question that JD was the right choice for this band, please watch and listen to these clips. This could have been the future of INXS with Mig or Marty. The live perfomance video of Perfect Strangers rounds out the two CD set. This video was taped when JD still wore the knee brace and in a couple of frames you can see the brace. It confirms how amazing that man and this band are. Hurt, he still gives the performance 100% and the band is well the band is INXS. Enough said. Buy your copy now.
