Editorial Reviews
Shel Kimen, Repellent Magazine 8/03
"…exceptionally good at using play to communicate something very intricate and heavy, he's obviously very schooled in electronic music history."

Product Description
This 25 track, 63 minute audio documentary by blanketship is his first full length album on g25productions. The three eps offered in this set were recorded between Sept 2001 and Jan 2002, and distributed through limited edition cassette release only. g25productions is proud to release selections from all three eps on one disc.

The first of the three ep's, "l'homme invisible" (2001), combines the darkness and sparseness of orchestral accompaniments with minimal electro time pieces to create a disturbing and contemporary basket of compositions.

Taking a brighter musical turn is the joyous "captain assure" (2001), done originally on old fostex 4 tracks, these songs flow with an awakening touch of light spirit. Like seeing an old friend who has come back from his travels...densely layered melodies and soft core funk brings the captain in for a port of call.

The final ep in the trilogy, "willow bend" (2002), sets blanketship back into orbit. Co-produced by phil robert k, the songs breathe a new life of atmosphere and sonic landscape inspired by a retirement complex deep in the rich swamps of Florida. Lush and surreal offerings put a final close to the album but open new doors of experimentation for ‘the ship'.

We hope this album opens your ears to the haunting yet peaceful world of blanketship, and leaves you waiting at the dock for his return with new treasures.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars good vibes with depth.......2005-07-11

feels innocent with bittersweet corners
bright colors minus saccharin
remember before you had to work and pay rent

5 out of 5 stars this makes me feel nice.......2003-05-31

it is indescribable, the feeling i get when i hear "Chloser" on my boom box at the race track.
i feel like life has meaning again.

blanketship makes me feel like he knows me, he approves of the way i live, deeply understands my need for attention, and has subsequently provided me with a soundtrack for every day i'm on this planet, breathing, providing, establishing, trusting, loving, and listening.

and when "tricycle" acompanies me on my happy walks to the store with mom, i feel like i'm invincible.

i wake up to "SpEchul" and the day is managable, like it never was before.
i might have ended it all if this album was never created.
i am waiting at the dock, for the blanketship to return from its voyage.
i love you.
