I was afforded the opportunity to be present at the recording of the Angelic Voices of Faith's new cd "Let's Celebrate". The music, the musicianship, and the spirit of praise were all on one accord. If you love good gospel music, you need to buy this offering. The AVOF are at their best. I have been a fan for years and in my opinion, The Angelic Voices of Faith are one of the best choirs, if not the best choir, in Memphis. They are cutting edge without leaving God out of the equation. There will be no doubt in your mind that you are "having church". Minister Billy Rivers and the Angelic Voices of Faith set the house on fire!

Memphis has a long history of excellence in Gospel music. Billy Rivers and the Angelic Voices of Faith continue in that tradition. There are stand out performances, to be sure, but this is not a one hit CD. All of the selections are fantastic and beyond, from beginning to end. Just keep praising God!

When I bought this CD 'Let's Celebrate was the only cut I had heard. When I listened to the whole CD, I loved it. It is so inspirational and I love Rev. Timothy Wright's voice.

Listening to Pastor Wright is like eating your favourite comfort foods, or smelling a scent that evokes pleasant memories of times past. This project is for all us OG's who want just the Gospel and nothing but the Gospel! The CD starts out w/a stagey kind of sound "King of Kings", but soon you're on memory lane when you used to attend the Convocation and stay up all night attending the midnight musicals. Pastor Wright's voice is still majestic and mighty and even though he gives a brief nod to the new sounds, he knows to stay right where he is-in his own realm of Gospel. Listen to this if you want to hear Gospel the way it used to be and score brownie points by buying copies for your parents. God bless the hearers of this CD.

    I haven't even listened through the entire CD. I don't think I can bring myself to spend my time doing so. Where to begin. From the selections I've heard, the chorus sounds incredibly thin and weak, the organ overpowering them on numerous occasions. Part of the blame in that, however, goes to the mix...the choir not getting enough mic to balance out the instruments. That happens too often in chorus/instrument recordings and it drives me batty. The music selections aren't so inspiring either. You would do much better devoting your hard-earned dollars to Eric Whitacre's acappella choral works, or any of his contemporaries.

        Very uplifting CD! With the recent tragedy of 9/11, the special version of the "Star Spangled Banner," is probably the best I've heard. The music is wonderful and the guitar player is ELECTRIC with his solos! Billy Rivers and the angelic voices of faith are definitely an awesome talent and a must have in you music library!

          Recently I thought the last few Bishop projects were under par for this group, but this project is back up to the Bishop's high standard of Southern Gospel excellence. A wonderful CD to add to any collection.
