The Japanese Version of Jamiroquai and Brand New Heavies !.......1999-06-26

I saw them twice live in Japan. This is a jazzy pop soul group most famous for their love songs, but who, as is evident in this collection, are funky as well. Almost all the cuts are "slick" and "groovy" sounding. They were the first Japanese pop group I ever listened to. If you like Jamiroqai, Brand New Heavies, even Ben Folds Five, even Pizicatto Five, Original Love should have an appeal to you. This is real instrumental music w/ a fantastic front man... not sampled, with a lot of slick keyboard playing (Fender Rhodes, etc) - - MILLION SECRETS OF JAZZ and SCANDAL were the one's that one me over. Fans of THE BLACKBYRDS and that late '70s FANTASY JAZZ sound might dig this group too. For some strange reason, since they changed labels (VICTOR to TOSHIBA EMI ?) they've issued like a million greatest hits album for every knew album, but SUNNY SIDE is the best and their newer stuff has gotten a bit rocky.

bonus Audio from Live in NYC DVD/Album.......2004-08-15

If you're looking at this import CD single then you already have The Rising Album that the title track was lifeted (and there's no new radio or single edit included to help justify the purchase). What is included is the audio for 3 songs from the shows that provided material for the Live in NYC double CD and DVD - and while Born to Run was inclued (initially unlisted on the cover) on the CD - this is the audio disc debut for the Live in NYC versions of Darkness.. and Thunder Road. Both great performances and the only reason you'd grab this import CD single.

Make Your Day a 'Sunny Day' and Give This a Listen!.......2005-06-04

I love CoCo Lee's voice, having heard her sing the theme song in the movie 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.' But her English album, although cute and likeable, wasn't exactly a very strong - or well-selling - performance.
But Sunny Day definitely shows off the versatility of her smooth voice. The title track, like many others on this album, is a ballad-ish song, where Coco's vocal gymnastics float lightly above an acoustic background. 'Feelin' Good,' 'Diamond,' 'Don't Wanna Play,' and 'Wu Wu la la La' are more playful, poppy tunes, and 'Colors of the World' is a fairly upbeat pop song with international influence.
Now, one song I just have to point out - you may recognize 'Reflection' as a Mandarin version of the Christina Aguilera song of the same name, which was featured in Disney's Mulan. Personally, I like CoCo's version better. It doesn't sound as soulful and passionate as Aguilera's performance, but rather, more resigned and regretful.
All in all, Sunny Day is definitely worth a listen!

Best Coco Album!.......2004-07-20

This is the first Coco album I ever bought and it has remained a favourite. Di Da Di is good too but I always gotta hear HaoXinChing (Feelin' Good)! I recommend it! (If you can find it!)

A great decision.......2003-05-07

Finally - Waiting On A Sunny Day is released as a single. I've always thought it should be the first one, as Rising and Lonesome Day are not (at least for me, tho' I've grown fond of them too) the strongest tracks from a very strong record. But Waitin' - that's vintage Bruce, a very catchy song, and a very healing one. Rock'n'roll at its best. I'm waiting for Columbia to release Nothing Man (for me the best track on the album) as a single. But here, on Waiting, it is Neil's guitar that adds to the moment. And you should see a video.

AMAZING!!.......2004-06-26

This is a great EP! I love Ben Folds and his work just keeps getting better. The album takes on an ironic look at society, in a very Ben Folds-esque kind of way. I would say that this EP's sound is closer to Rockin' The Suburbs than any of his other albums.

ben folds writes great songs.......2003-11-14

I found this EP on the Ben Folds site, and I think it is one of his best. "There's Always Someone Cooler Than You", "Learn to Live With What You Are", and "Rock Star", are good songs, but "All You Can Eat" and "Songs of Love" are simply amazing. All You Can Eat is a song Ben writes telling his son about the problems our nation, or more specifically, it's people, have. it is Ben's best song to date (in my opinion). Finally, Songs of Love is a beautiful ballad to end the record, as Ben always does.
Hard to find, but worth the search.
