Great Album.......2007-02-06

What else can i say about this album that hasn't already been said brilliant piece of music, this remaster has improved sound over the last remaster.

Unprecedented, but not the first!.......2004-12-11

Before I even knew what a "trevor horn" was, i was in awe of this album and Frankie's "Pleasuredome" within the same year. "Lexicon" set the standard for my pop/rock ears. It was truly the very first album i would obsessively listen to over and over without skipping a single track and all the while wondering "Why aren't all albums made this way??". Later, I would discover "Avalon" by Roxy Music (which actually came first, but not to my ears). ABC's original killer lineup (Fry, White, Singleton, Lickley, and, most of all, Palmer) had hammered out (with Horn) the ulitmate distillation of what HAD been great 70*s music to form the pinnacle of New Romanticism for the 80*s.

The songs are an endless stream of witty couplets, like Satan himself had possesed your average dictionary of qoutations and was using it to sing the evils of love! The lowbrow take on highbrow lyricism all the while laughs at it's own haughty pretension, and Fry's ever-straining (though succeeding!) vocal delivery is emotive and leavening all at once! Tessa Niles (then Webb) made her mark as the angel of the New Romantic bands with her cameo parts here. Duran Duran would allude to her spots on Lexicon with their "Come Undone" single (that record seeming to mourn a bygone era).

Trevor Horn (I know what one is now!) assembled the core army that would march forth as ZTT (and the before-mentioned Frankie) around this effort, and the collective genius of all concerned, coupled with an exacting attention to recorded sonics (predicting the digital era to come...) would rise to heights unimagined. This record is every bit as engaging and lofty as any classical symphony or suite. Horn even managed to "tart up' and incorporate a track produced by someone else (Steve Brown on "Tears Are Not Enough") seemlessly. Fortunately for listeners, the original 7 inch single version is here for comparison. Also of note is the FABULOUS jazz mix of "Poison Arrow" (which i long treasured on vinyl) that proves Trevor's chops as an ombudsman arranger and mixer! Some of you may like to know that a "scratch" mix of 'Look of Love" is out there (part 5), it has it's moments, really, but I can see why it missed the cut here...

ABC's graphic sensibility PRE dated Pet Shop Boys and was in no small measure responsible for their success first time out. The Deluxe version exquistitely re-tailors the original graphics (Universal/Polygram in-house art has long been a leader in tasteful treatments, even when assigning such work to outside firms). Lots of Goodies for the eyeballs here, as well. The Live and Demo cuts are great, academically speaking. I only wish disc one had incorporated "overture" and "look parts 2 and 3" and left all else to disc two, it would have been less jarring. The sound has a certain "punched and compressed" quality in the percussion parts that was (like vintage Motown singles) a big part of it's vinyl success. It has obviously been decided to not mess with perfection in the audio approach, and the oddness of this approach is preserved (wise choice in my book!).

I sincerely hope this album is one day given the 5.1 surround mix it so desperately deserves. It would definitely pose a challenge to Mr. Horn, and he may well feel it is too risky to mess with perfection. This album deserves that extra detail every bit as much as Roxy's "Avalon" did, and "Avalon" succeeded as such, so please Trevor, give a try for the old guard! THANK GOD THIS ALBUM HAS GOTTEN IT'S DUE HONOR AT LAST! You will proudly own the very best if you buy it, even the original vanity "Neutron" label is used! Purveyors of Supa-Fine Product, indeed!

REMASTERED AGAIN another happy return.......2004-11-27

When I found out the Deluxe Edition series was adding The Lexicon Of Love to their catalog, I was very excited. Since there was already a remaster, I was more interested in the bonus tracks. Well, both discs are brilliant. This time, The Lexicon Of Love was truly remastered - it sounds better than the first round - you can tell immediately on Show Me. It was a much better job from the master.

The bonus stuff is worth it's weight in gold. The demos are my favorite as the songs are stripped down an a little undeveloped. It's cool to hear the genesis of song without the added production

I have a live show from Germany (same tour) which is excellent. This one is from the Hammersmith 1982. If you have not heard the full live set from this tour - you are in for complete treat. Very classy.

OH - pretty important if you want to save some cash. I bought mine from Amazon UK. For everything, the price was under $30.00. For some reason, our Amazon could not get the price lower. So, go there and save $10.00

Born To Do It...No Doubt.......2004-03-18

When I first heard "Fill Me In", I ws hooked. I had to get Born To Do It. So, as soon as I got it, I instantly went through the tracks, and was not disappointed. I found this cd to be well worth the money I had paid for it. Craig David has crafted together a work of art with his first release, and continues his exellence with Slicker Than Your Average. Plus, his remixes are a wonderful compliment to his smash singles(Seven Days, Rendezvous, Key To My Heart, the countless Walking Away remixes). I thoroughly enjoyed and continue to enjoy his music. Here's hoping that Mr. David keeps doing what he's born to do and keep his listeners happy.

Craig David is the "Booty Man" !.......2002-03-12

I love this CD. I first heard Craig last summer when I listened to "Fill Me In". The video to this song was a bit too "young" for me so I kind of put Craig David aside for the moment. Over the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday the radio stations were playing the remix of 7 days and then I was hooked. When I bought "Born To Do It" I thought too many songs were about having sex but then again - I said to myself - what else are young men his age thinking about. So I gave it another chance and I must say that Craig David is ALL THAT!

Being a House Music lover, I HAD to push repeat constantly on my CD player from the first moment I heard "Can't Be Messing 'Round". I must admit that it has been a while since a singer/performer has hit me hard like this - not since Prince (and Kenny Lattimore) have I been so excited and especially about any one CD. This CD is a MUST have.

I wish Craig David nothing but MUCH success over here in the states and continued success in his home country. If his future work is as tight as "Born To Do It", he will last for quite sometime! This CD is a MUST buy for folks who like to party, bounce, and groove. Even the slower tempo cuts (Once In A Lifetime, Follow Me, Walking Away) make your head bob.

This cd rocks. BUT the songs that are on this one, that are also on the US version sound exactly the same. The remixes are good and the US version does not have all of these remixes. This CD is also missing two songs that are on the US print.

Born To Do It? Most Definately!.......2001-10-20

I downloaded all of the songs from winmx about 5 months ago.
I wasnt sure if I would like it or not, but to my surprise I came to love it. I'm not much into R&B, but Craig David's album has definately given me a diferent outlook on it. The first track "Fill Me In" is one of the more popular, but only because the radio doesn't play the others. If You like R&B or not, I recomend that you by this album. He also mixed in the great sound of U.K. 2-step garage. BUY IT!!!!

I chanced onto the HITS series and love them. Hits 50 gives you not 12, not 20 BUT 50 tracks. WOW! I really got my money's worth!!! Not only did I get songs I wanted but found new songs and singers that I love to listen to now!!! Have Hits 50, Hits 51 and Hits 53 and each one is a great collection of the best music around!!!! I recommend this cd and the series to everyone!!!

The best album that I ever bought.......2007-06-02

I grew up with George Micheal for over 20 years. Every since I was in elementary school. My mother introduced me to him. I loved his music. I used to get in trouble because of him. It kind of affected my schoolwork. I forgive him for his arrest for the bathroom bit. I tried to forget about what his did, and move on. I may not approve that he is gay, but I don't hate him. He is still a good artist. I may like him for another 20 years to come.

Reintroducing George Michael!.......2003-10-07

Among this two disc set is one clunker, and that is I WANT YOUR SEX (PT. 2). It turns me off because it's just the backside of the monster hit that played itself to death. I didn't check out the "Pt. 2" part. Aside from that, this is still the best of George. From funky jam solo, duets with Elton John and Aretha Franklin, and the best part-the ballads, George made his mark on the music world, and whether you agree or not, his versatility as a performer is his best asset. Listening to some of these tunes, it becomes obvious that he could have made a bundle in the contemporary jazz catagory. Any two-hit wonder can put out a "Best of" disc, but George Michael has done himself a great service by releasing a very impressive body of work.

Generous Retrospective.......2002-05-24

While this compilation was a contract obligation for Michael, Sony had the rights to these songs and to release any compilations they wanted to, this is still a worthwhile investment for the George Michael fans. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: THE BEST OF GEORGE MICHAEL spans his career with plenty of material to satisfy the fans. The set is divided by 2 cds, the first being FOR THE HEART (ballads) and the second being FOR THE FEET (uptempos). This is the import version, which features one extra track, the duet with Mary J Blige on "As", which was not placed on the US version as a punishment from the label for his bathroom escapades in 1998. As well there are two new songs, one on each disc.

FOR THE HEART features some of his most heartfelt ballad performances. Notables include "Jesus To A Child", "You Have Been Loved", "I Can't Make You Love Me", "Careless Whisper", "Cowboys and Angels" and "One More Try".

FOR THE FEET features some of his best uptempo songs, such as "I Want Your Sex (Pt II), "Star People 97", "Too Funky", "Fastlove", etc. "Outside" is a great song, the new one on this disc, the video is among his best. Other highlights here include the duet with Aretha Franklin on "I Knew You Were Waiting For Me", the duet with Mary J Blige "As", "Hard Day", and more.

Overall this 29 song collection is a generous offering, and a must have for the fans, to remember some of his best known music. FOR THE HEART is perfect for reflection and relaxing, FOR THE FEET is perfect for getting ready to go out and party. Overall this is essential for the fans.

A true star under-rated now in the US.......1999-11-17

What an amazing collection. Never has an artist put out such a complete work of art. Unlike usual greatest hits packages which simply throw an artists best songs on disc, George Michael has taken time to create a 2 disc mood set, "For the Feet" and "For the Heart". With a few surprise songs thrown in, especially "AS" with Mary J Blige which for legal reason the US version didn't contain. Well worth the money.

This is for shure the greatest Best-Of-Album ever created in the history. Hopefully, GM will create more titles , so that we will have an "The Absolutely Best Of GM" in future.

The production year of this album is 1998 (Alki-Enchante), all tracks are original from paris, unmixed. Here you can listen to the artists who have all the time been working for real good housemusic, what is special with this album is that it gives you the retrospect; the songs that never become old.
