5 out of 5 stars One of the last groups to ward off Rap from R&B.......2007-07-01

In My Bed *That is the 1 you know even if you were only a casual in the 90s*

But there are 3 more that are just as good or better.

Tell Me
Never Make A Promise
These Are The Times

1st 2 are similar and a bit slow jam but with some assertiveness.
The last is slow and more of a ballad type.

Another 3 are solid tracks.

5 Steps
How Deep Is Your Love
I Should Be...

5 out of 5 stars Actual Hits.......2007-06-02

It actually has all the 'Hits' I was looking for, and I was especially glad it had Cisqo's "Incomplete" on it. I could actually play it all the way through.

5 out of 5 stars Some of the best slow jams of the nineties.......2007-01-13

Dru Hill is a typical story in R&B where ego's destroy the group. Dru Hill was one of the last good groups to come out in the nineties who actually presented good quality R&B and all of the hits are here. Tell Me,How Deep Is Your Love, and Never Make a Promise and many more are here including my personal favorite Beauty. My main compliant with the CD is the songs are mostly all radio edits and there's too many weak tracks from the 2002 flop Dru World Order.

5 out of 5 stars baby making music.......2006-11-05

You must hear track 9 for all music lovers. Everone that hears this cd and track want one for themselves.

5 out of 5 stars great R&B.........one of the best groups.......2006-03-07

I have always liked Dru Hill's music. Their songs are so nice and beautiful. They did a good job compiling these songs, they are definately hits. I enjoyed mostly all of them. My favorites were: 5 Steps, We're Not Making Love, These Are The Times,The Love We Had, and Beauty. This is a very good CD. Mostly all the songs are beautiful.

Over the course of two successful CDs, Case has progressed from being an anonymous love man who sounds very much like K-Ci Hailey to a surprisingly sensitive singer with his own take on the often clichéd R&B realm. That sensitivity is in abundance on this solid third effort, which like its singer is tough but tender. Nimbly mixing the thug Romeo's musings on freaky ladies and broken hearts, Open Letter brims with heartfelt introspection, as displayed on the moody, intricately crafted single "Missing You." Yet even when the sweetness flows, there's grit underneath Case's hushed come-ons. Featuring production and songs from Tim & Bob and the always trustworthy Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Open Letter conjures up the romantic wistfulness of those old (and Jam-and-Lewis-produced) Force MD's singles. And that is a very fine thing indeed. --Amy Linden

5 out of 5 stars Open the Case!!! .......2005-08-12

WOW! WHAT CAN I SAY!?

I know music, been writing music for years now. Music is my life. When it comes to buying R&B music, I love to go out in a limb and buy someones CD I've never even heard of, in this case it was Case.

Im a give this CD a 5 star rating because to date I've yet to see MORE THAN EXCEPTIONAL songs put together. What makes an exceptional song?

First off, the beat must go with the songs flow. The lyrics must match the beat. The vocals (background, etc) must compliment, but not raze the song. I can say one of the very best R&B songs ever but together would contain:

Usher - YEAH
Sam Saler - Your Face
Carl Thomas - Emotional
Donell Jones - Life Goes On
Jagged Edge - Promise Remix
Mario Winans - You Knew
Profyle - Every Little Thing
K-Ci & JoJo - All My life
Case - Missing You
Etc Etc Etc

The list could go on for awhile, but when you think about ALL the music that is made, there are few artist with good cds even more rare, artists with exceptional songs.

Also, I HATE IT when artists make damn songs about their kids, really who cares, right? Exactly! Well Case made a song for his daughter Skye, which I must say is one of my favorite songs because its WELL PUT TOGETHER!

JUST BUY THE DAMN CD!

4 out of 5 stars A Very Good Album.......2004-08-02

This album is probably the only Case album worth picking up. I absolutely love this one because it has some r&b gems on it. Check out "love of my life," "even though," and "conversate" (even though conversate is not an actual word - the correct term would be converse). This music is not for the immature or people just wanting to hear some music. In order to appreciate this album, you have to have been through some things in relationships. You have to have to be able to understand where he is coming from in order to apprecaite the seemingly simple lyrics of most of the songs. Case is not your plain old R&B singer...he sings love songs. If you don't like love songs, then this album may not be for you. Otherwise, you can put this album up there with Brian McKnight and Javier.

5 out of 5 stars Case Is Always A Number One In My Book..........2003-07-10

Case has always had me hooked on his vibe. Ever since he came out with the banging single "Touch Me, Tease Me" with Foxy Brown (which I own) and "Happily Ever After" (which I also own), he has easily made me a very big fan! His album Open Letter is definitely one that jumped out at me and really attracted me. It's great and I love it! That's a wrap! holla!!!

5 out of 5 stars Case Is Always A Number One In My Book..........2003-07-10

I've always loved Case since I first heard him with tha bangin single "Touch Me, Tease Me" with Foxy Brown. (which I own) Then he came out with another bangin single "Happily Ever After" (which I also own) But Open Letter really jumped out at me and I love EVERY SINGLE SONG on this record!! Much love to Case, and I'm a HUGE fan of his always!...that's a wrap, holla!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Undoubtedly this CD is among his best so far..........2003-02-06

I remember when the "Nutty Professor" was about to hit the theatres back in the summer of '96. There was the infamous video "Touch Me, Tease Me" with Foxy Brown and a little known singer called Case. I didn't even know he came out with a debut album at the time; it wasn't until "Happily Ever After" played on the airwaves, along with other hit singles, that his career launched. His lastest album, "OPEN LETTER", is an excellent showcase of his talents and arrangements. I'm very touchy when it comes to certain music nowadays; it tends to fall into the classic case of a quick dollar scenario for commercial gain. But honestly, I haven't enjoyed a CD like this since SWV's "A New Beginning", Brian Mcknight's "Anytime" or Keith Martin's "It's Long Overdue". Here's my run-down of each song:

Missing You - The perfect song about missing that special someone. Nice lyrics, a smooth groove...no complaints here.

Shine - It definitely has that Stevie Wondersque quality. If you didn't know Case was singing, you'd think it was Stevie himself. Another great song, very honest lyrics...

Song for Skye - I can't think of too many artists who would take time to dedicate a track for their daughters. But Case did, and it's great. Very inspirational. When Skye gets older, she'll be very proud that he did this for her...

Not Your Friend - Good song, but one of my least favorites...

Driving - Usually loving takes place in the bedroom, but Case decided to take it to the open road. Perfect for riding or driving too...

Sex Games - Perfect slow song for well, the obvious.

Conversate - I seem to find something new everytime I listen to this track. Although the beat is simple, it's very hypnotic. Rarely do you find a R+B track talking about the basis of relationships which is communication. Another decent and honest song...

Love of My Life - Another track almost duplicating Stevie Wonder. At first, I didn't like the beat but I've grown to appreciate his approach of orchestration in this song. I can personally relate to this song. Good story-telling...

Wishful Thinking - Another track almost duplicating Stevie Wonder. I could see this on Original Musiquarium. Another excellent song...

Crooked Letter - Most artists, especially R+B artists, seem like they gotta have at least one fast, hip-hop influenced track to break the momentum. But I'm not very fond of this track either. The album could have done without this throwaway...

Already Have - Another flawless song. They say honesty is the best policy, and it works on slow jams. Why not tell the one you love just how much you love them? No drama, just purity...

No Regrets - This almost has the same vibe as "Conversate", not saying that's bad. Just plain good. Strong lyrics, good all around...

Even Though - The lyrics are so simple yet complex. A nice way to end an album, being able to move on from a breakup knowing that someone just may be still thinking about you. Perfect for a compilation of songs for the summertime. I'm sure anybody can relate to this song...

11/13 is my score for "OPEN LETTER". Each song approaches love in a different way. Did I mention hardly any guest appearances or cameos? Just a talented singer. Nice job, Case. With 2 good CD's before him, "OPEN LETTER" is even better. I can't wait to see how he picks up from this greatest effort. I'll be listening...

Listened, it grew on me, and now I can't stop bumpin'! Damn, when's the real album comin' out!!!

4 out of 5 stars The Best Underground MC.......2006-09-16

I've been listening to Sai-giddy since he pressed the contraband record on RAWKUS. He has been in this rap game for a while now but as you know he's been servin time and droppin the illest mixtapes in the meantime. This mixtape is a good mix of what you can expect from him. I do have to agree with an earlier reviewer in sayin that his BEST MIXTAPES are the first 2 or 3 he made in-between gettin locked up. He made those with Kayslay and trust me there is no filler what so-ever on those. All in all this should leave you wantin some more so go do some homework!!! PEACE

4 out of 5 stars home boi flows r good.......2005-10-31

the homey saigon is nice mane....the flow r real tight and how u kno that he been though some real things in his life time.....the beat r ok nothing to get all hype about but it goes good wit his voice and lyrics. go get this cd fo real and listern to ny streets, shock tv,l.o.v.e, and let a nigga kno

5 out of 5 stars one of the most provocative mix-tapes.......2005-08-09

Siagon is the next God of hip-hop. Im from the A town and new york mixtapes rarely get heard down south. This mix tape is so good that it leaked down south and is buzzing. Siagon's vivid depictions and profuse vocabulary mixes with his vernacular to produce rythmic poetry on a beat. It is magic because he does not glorify or exploite killing, materialism, and mosagony. But yet he still maintains his street credability. If you want to know what the future of hip hop sounds like, then buy this album.

5 out of 5 stars Let a nigga know.......2005-04-01

I gotta let a nigga know that Saigon Is the HOTTEST Up n Comer right now. I Downloaded "NY Streetz" and "Shok TV" 2 months ago and played them on heavy rotation. Finally I just got the CD.
GODDAMN this CD is the tightest CD you will own by an up and comer in the game right now. He reminds me a lot of 50 when he was comin up.
Hot Tracks include "let a nigga know" and "NY Streets" as well as the WhooKid Freestyle. Crazy CD, I find it wierd that he keeps shouting "Grestest Story Never Told" but the CD is called "Warning Shots" If he is comin out with this other CD I can't Wait. I will buy it when it drops.
Also look out for the song "DIRTY BIZ ft. my man KOOL G RAP"

Pick this up, you wont be dissapointed

I love this CD and it has a wide variety of good R&B songs. I bought this trying to get a CD with some good R&B because too many artists are one hit wonders or don't produce many good songs. This album delivers and I listen to it all the time. The songs are shown above. If you want another good R&B/Rap album I recommend the 2001 Grammy R&B/Rap Nominees CD. Great R&B/Rap and good bang for the buck.

5 out of 5 stars An ingenious musical triumph squandered by the record industry.......2007-01-17

Probably the best example of Industry Rule #4,080 ("record company people are shady...") is Nate Dogg's amazing double album "G-Funk Classics Vol. 1-2." This is a simply brilliant musical product that has never received fair sales or recognition because of poor decisions by record labels. "G-Funk Classics, Vol. 1-2" is in fact two separate albums. The second disc was recorded to be an album between 1995 and 1996 called "The Prodigal Son" on Death Row Records. Had this been released by Suge Knight, I am sure that this would have followed suit as a critical and commercial success in the procession of platinum selling classics like "The Chronic," "Doggystyle," and "Dogg Food," complete with the guest appearances, W-Balls interludes, and all. Of course, the collapse of Death Row around 1996 led to this album being shelved for years, with enough time for Nate to go back to the studio and independently record "The Ghetto Preacher," the first disc of this set, which he finished by 1998. Since time had passed and options were limited, Nate was forced to release these as a double album independently, and thus is this product with the fairly shabby packaging and virtually no promotion, so much that it was out of print within only a few years. Over the years both discs have been frequently and poorly re-released by multiple labels to little success.

But both discs are overall phenomenal. They sound like a full, cohesive album and there's really no flaw in any. On "G-Funk Classics" it's so easy to see why Nate is the world's most sought after hook man. Nate has more style than any three R&B singers combined. He comes across as a seasoned Long Beach gangster, as hard and tough as any gangsta rapper, yet the smooth edge he polishes over each of his productions leaves you with a great impression. The way he tells stories of his dealings in his hometown, interactions with women, philosophies, and problems are convincing and entertaining. As I'm sure you know by now, his voice is also very enticing. His deep, soulful baritone expresses so much emotion. The production is absolutely extraordinary. While Nate calls it G-Funk, the style he really puts across on these discs is not like the Warren G and Snoop Dogg G-Funk that we all think of. Over woozy, soulful beats, Nate's solo songs could be labeled G-Soul. There's not a poor production to be found on either disc, these are the kind of songs that get stuck in your head and you love it. An all-star production team including LT Hutton, Warren G, Teddy Riley, Daz Dillinger, and Soopafly make what is some of the best laidback west coast music I've ever heard. This is the perfect soundtrack for riding slow in the car or chilling out by yourself. People who think that Nate carry an album by himself have no idea. He exhibits enough talent, character, and style that easily fill two discs of ultimate quality. Another piece that makes "G-Funk Classics" so fulfilling is the guest appearances. Each guest appearance is A-list, making for a who's who of west coast hip hop. Guest rappers include Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger, Kurupt, Tray Deee, Big Syke, and even 2Pac. "G-Funk Classics" is completely unlike anything I've ever heard and if this weren't such a victim of misfortune this would be an undisputed classic among the top of west coast albums. I can't recommend it any higher.

Disc 1, aka "The Prodigal Sun," is the one recorded later. It starts off with one of Nate's best songs ever, "The Hardest Man in Town." This song is produced by New Jack Swing legend Teddy Riley, of Guy and Blackstreet fame, so it's surprising to hear a beat from him that is so lovably woozy with synths and heavy bass with funk instrumentation. It's an excellent production and Nate totally does it justice with a perfect performance. His lyrics speak of "the hardest man in town," the guns that cause and solve problems in lives. The song "G-Funk" has a great musical track too, using funky guitars for a great backing. Nate sings in an emotional joyful style, expressing happiness of seeing "Long Beach on the map" and talking about what music means to him. "First We Pray" is upbeat and hard, discussing the daily dealings in Long Beach. Nate talks about what he would do if he owned the world on "My World," and on the wonderful "Crazy, Dangerous," he makes a soulful performance about the hood mentality over an excellent, droopy beat. "These Days" is another remarkable song, where Nate expresses sadness over the tough state of his life, with great production from Daz. The nice "Bag o' Weed" precedes the slow and bass-heavy "Dirty H...'s Drawers." "Scared of Love" is a softer and enjoyable song, which comes before the phenomenal "Me & My Homies," a joyful anthem about hanging out with his friends, featuring one of 2Pac's last verses. "Because I Got a Girl" shows a lot of style, and the upbeat and ultra-funky "My Money" is another of my absolute favorites. "Never Leave Me Alone" is just wonderful, and the album ends with the conscious "Where Are You Going?" which addresses the state of the world with a great performance.

Either one of these discs is perfect by itself, but the fact that they're together makes it that much better. The second one, the earlier Death Row material, begins with the extra-funky "Who's Playing Games?", a definite highlight. "I Don't Wanna Hurt No More" is a mournful and deep performance. My favorite track on either disc, though, is "Just Another Day," a perfect, fast beat with heavy bass and synths that allows Nate to shine with a great chorus and verses talking about the strains of being a performer. After the good collabo "She's Strange" is the slow and excellent "Almost in Love." "No Matter Where I Go" is fast, soulful, and a lyrical highlight. "Stone Cold" is a very unique and interesting song, which comes before "Friends," a classic featuring Snoop and Kurupt, a g-funk update to the Whodini standard. Snoop and Tha Dogg Pound show up again for "Puppy Love," an archetypical DPG track. "It's Goin' Down Tonight" once again displays Nate Dogg at his best, and the Warren G collabo "Nobody Does It Better" entertainingly speaks of life after "Regulate." The light "Sexy Girl" features Big Syke from Thug Life, and the self explanatory "Dogg Pound Gangstaville" follows. The last song is "Never Too Late," a horn-fueled Nate Dogg signature ballad.

If you take nothing else from this review, know that "G-Funk Classics" is a truly special double album from an amazing talent with amazing production. His next album "Music and Me" is also good but not on the level of this one. Everything goes right on these records. It's an absolute shame that this is so hard to find today. Is it worth the $30-$40? Well, for two full CDs of rare, 5-star material, this reviewer says yes, although that's a steep price to pay for any music. If this comes your way, it would be a crime not to pick it up. "G-Funk Classics" is that remarkable.

5 out of 5 stars I LOVE IT, IVE WANTED THIS FOR 3 YEARS N JUST GOT IT AND ITS GREAT.......2006-04-14

This Album is a certified classic in my opinion. This is a very rare and valualbe album. As far as I know, Nate Dogg has been on countless songs by other artists. Despite his amazing talent as far as I know hes only come out with 2 albums. His newest one is called "Music & Me". I think that that one is alright. No offense 2 him but I definetely think it could have been better. The thing is you really have to have a good appreciation for REAL CLASSIC G-Funk. Ive been loving GFunk for years, so I can really appreciate his music. But if your new to Nate Dogg, and new to the overall G-Funk genre, than I wouldnt recomment listening to "Music & Me", I would reccomend "G-Funk Classics Vol. 1 & 2". If your looking for a mindless, pointless charade of people yelling and jumping around like brainless animals, I mean Crunk music, than you definetely do not want to get this. However if your lookin for a smooth laid back collection of West Coast music than this is the best thing. THis album makes me feel care free, with out stress and also spits some good game too. This is the kind of Cd that makes you feel pimpish as hell and like you THA MAN, haha. Everytrack has something good to offer. THis is a cd you can play all the way through. Its somewhat of an acquired taste. So to those of you who are already fans of the G-FUnk genre, than you all will LOVE THISSSS, thats if you really understand G Funk, and its Roots, influences and history. But to those of you with no idea, its still a pretty good chill album. GET IT GO GET IT GO GET IT, its worth the price, Because nobody has this!!!!! Its rare, go get it babay.

4 out of 5 stars 4.5 star Debut from the King of Hooks.......2004-12-23

After first hearing Nate Dogg on Dr. Dre's "The Chronic" in late 1992 he has been my favorite "singer" around. After a long wait for this album to finally drop I'm glad it did because it is one good double disc CD. The first disc was released in 1997 but was very rare and hard to find. Out of the 28 songs on here I skip 5, and 5 are just ok; which means it could have been a classic 18 song album, but it's still a very good one. It has 3 classics and 15 good or great songs on here. The production is great for Nate's voice and is done mostly by Daz Dillinger, Soopafly, Nate Dogg, Warren G, and LT Hutton (all do at least 3 songs) with 2 or 3 others contributiong to a song each. The guests are mostly his old LBC homies. A must have West coast G-Funk album.

5 out of 5 stars very good production.......2004-12-17

this cd collection contains relaxing songs which still allude to gangster rap, although nate dogg may not be directly in the gangster scene. his voice is so unique and the beats are also very unique and well crafted, which is why this album deserves 5 stars.

5 out of 5 stars Album is the shiznit.......2004-11-09

When I first heard Nate Dogg, on the Chronic back in '92, Doggystyle in '93, Dogg Food, Regulate and Above the Rim in '94, and practically every album, every single year since, I thought this guy is all that. I bought this album when it came out. Simply by accident. I am from Halifax, and these types of albums, don't usually come to the Eastern most point in Canada. But I lucked out.
It was on the shelf, and I am a huge fan of his, so I could not pass it up. This album is smooth and funky, hard and raw, plus, this album is in my top 10 of all time best albums. I have over 400 albums, and I mean when I say, this album really kicks ass.

Dance music is all about the remix, and no genre is safe. As proof, San Francisco's Six Degrees Records have loosed a ragtag band of DJs upon that venerable institution, the Christmas classic. Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, Dean Martin, and others all get the turntable treatment here, from the likes of Dan the Automator, Mocean Worker, and Robbie Hardkiss. As one might suspect, the kitsch/fun factor is off the charts. "Baby It's Cold Outside," for instance, lounges comfortably beside any exotic, Les Baxter-style oddity, as Louis Armstrong's crackly vocals meet a slow breakbeat snare drum. Meanwhile, Beef Wellington fashions a swinging beat around Crosby's "Happy Holidays," and successfully mixes it with the song's jaunty horn section. Other attempts are less endearing; versions of "Joy to the World," and "The First Noel" inspire only energetic rolls in the graves of their composers. Still, even if you believe some wax simply shouldn't be tampered with, this collection offers a giddy abundance of holiday cheer. --Matthew Cooke

5 out of 5 stars A Pleasant and Subtle Update on Christmas Classics.......2007-01-11

If you're in the mood for Christmas classics and a little adventurous, you'll enjoy the manner in which the old favorites have been overlaid with some contemporary yet accessible beats and harmonies.

Light enough to be unobtrusive background music for a party, yet interesting enough to listen to while driving.

4 out of 5 stars Gang singing is a lot more fun than you'll ever know.......2004-12-04

Someone had the bright idea to take a bunch of old Christmas records, and letting modern DJs remix them. Amazingly, it works. All of the remixes are at least somewhat interesting, and some of them are actually quite good. I know that putting modern beats on old songs sounds like a strange idea, but somehow they pulled it off. If you want to hear some old Christmas chestnuts with a new twist, this is the CD for you.

5 out of 5 stars Best new holiday cd in a long time!.......2003-12-20

I had a hard time getting this locally because apparently every time my local store played it, it would sell out the stock! Got it on the net.....Best songs "Ive got my love to keep me warm",
Kay Starr and "Merry Christmas Baby", Charles Brown. The best way to explain this music, it that it makes you feel like you're been drinking even though you haven't.....that GOOD.

Before Maceo Parker played with De La Soul, before Dr. Dre sampled the entire P-Funk catalog, even before flares came back in style, London's the Brand New Heavies were spreading funk's gospel to a whole new generation of listeners. Formed in 1985 by James Brown-worshipers Jan Kincaid, Simon Bartholomew, and Andrew Levy (vocalist N'dea Davenport joined in 1990), the band emerged from London's acid jazz scene in the early '90s with a sound folks had been jonesin' for. It wasn't quite Bootsy or Sly, but the Heavies' sexy, raw, and uplifting blend of sweaty '60s funk and smoothed-out '70s soul made booties shake harder than they had in years. Their early material has aged well; cuts off 1992's hip-hop-infused Heavy Rhyme Experience: Vol. 1 (especially "Soul Flower," which features hip-hop's Pharcyde at its finest) gush with exuberance, as do the four cuts from Brother Sister, perhaps the band's strongest album. Unfortunately, things haven't been quite the same since Davenport left the band in 1995 (replaced by Siedah Garrett until '98, then by current vocalist Carleen Anderson). But the comp's only new track, a reworking of Marvin Gaye's "Saturday Nite" that features rapper Mos Def, offers up a superfine bounce that'll definitely leave you grooving. They've still got it goin' on. --Sylvia W. Chan

The Brand New Heavies short lived music career hit all the perfect notes.

This CD revolves the dreaded 'Best Of...' syndrome into a really nice listening experience. A nice mix of their best and some odd ball songs into a good interpretation of the Brand New Heavies changes in singers and styles. I recommend this to everyone who's heard of this abstract band.

Your friends will be asking you to borrow this CD once they hear it. I'm living proof!

    5 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!!!.......2003-05-14

I have been a huge fan of the Brand New Heavies for a long time, so when I discovered they had released this CD, I was in heaven!!! I love absolutely everything about this CD. They included all of my favorites as well as some new songs that I had never heard before. With their interesting mix of R&B, funk, and soul, this band really knows what it takes to make good music. N'dea Davenport's voice still blows me away.

This is the perfect CD for any Brand New Heavies fan, and I would also suggest it to people not familiar with the band. You will not be disappointed at all! This is the type of music that definitely has longevity!!!

    5 out of 5 stars Awesome compilation!.......2001-12-30

I have been a fan of the Brand New Heavies since their "Heavy Rhyme Experience" LP in 1992. This new greatest hits compilation features all their hits from their self-titled debut up till 1996's "Shelter" and several new tracks. All the songs are great, perfect for listening while driving in your car late night through Hollywood and the Sunset Strip. Classics like "Sometimes", "Dream come true", "Dream on dreamer", "finish what you started" and "Brother sister" are all here, plus new tracks like the excellent "Saturday Nite" and "Put the funk back in it". There are actually two versions of this compilation. THis US edition features more of their older stuff (from "Heavy Rhyme Experience" and "Brother Sister"), while the European edition features most of the tracks from the US edition, but with bonus tracks from their "Shelter" LP, like "You are the Universe", etc. Nonetheless, this is an excellent compilation of the Brand New Heavies' music, and it is indeed rare to see all their best songs on one collection. Not to be missed for all Acid Jazz fans!!!

    5 out of 5 stars Heaven.......2001-11-28

When I first heard this album I was completely amazed. Its a perfect album for listening in the car driving at the A4 during the night(The Hague-Amsterdam) at 220 KM/H. There's only on bad song at the album and you may discover which one.

3 out of 5 stars A Trunk Full Of Funk.......2001-11-13

I didn't really know what to expect from this C.D. I had known of the Brand New Heavies for years. They're a band local to me (Ealing), and one which is consistently played on the dancefloor, but of you had asked me to name some of their hits, I would only have been able to come up with 'You've Got A Friend'. Having listened to this a few times, I can only say that I can still only name one of their hits (which features Seidah Garrett on vocals), but I am nevertheless better informed. There's nothing outstanding here, except perhaps the band's performances. They have proved themselves adept at picking vocalists and consolidated their talent over the years by shrewd choices of musicians and producers. However what they really need is a strong songwriter, once they get that right, all their songs will be as memorable as their hit.

3 out of 5 stars crunk is not hip hop.......2005-01-12

not a bad album if you just accept it for what it is. not many lyricist if any on this cd but many memorable songs that are catchy. cool to bump in your ride but that's about it.
