Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars like nothing else out there.......1999-02-04

I first heard "Manly Medicine" on a late-night ultra-new radio program. Then, it took much searching to finally find and buy the album (should have used amazon.com). It is an incredible mix of pure sound, electronic, jazz, techno, ... I am still searching for something else even remotely like it. Certain tracks remind me a bit of "Art of Noise", another group that I have enjoyed immensely.

Buy it, and try it!

And, if anyone knows anything else like it, please email me!

This music is incredible, especially track 6, "Whitither". It's funky and melodic and fun. Makes me feel happy, like something good is coming right around the bend. And with this album, there are no disappointments! DIE 128 groove really pumps me up, makes me feel creative and excited,, like i'm flying through the air toward new adventures.

the scratching on the record is amazing... very melodic, it sounds like the scratching is singing.

the production is deep and funky, great sounds all around.

the bass is solid and throbbing and melodic on some tunes.

the keyboards are hypnotic. they put me in a trance.

the samples are funny too, like in medicine when the woman's voice is talking about riding around the meadow being the manly medicine.

the vocals on the songs move me, especially the song dreams, which is real jazzy and has a trumpet/turntable duo.
