T.H.E.M has always been fascinated and influenced by a vast array of musical styles and sounds. Their creative musical cocktail can be best described as equal influential shots of their early childhood favorites: Human League,Kate Bush, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Dead Or Alive, The B-52's, and Bjork. With a generous slice of Portishead, Pet Shop Boys, Eurythmics, Bananarama, and Thompson Twins. Add of course a tangy squeeze of Everything But The Girl and top off with a hearty splash of Depeche Mode and classic Blondie to garnish. Blended until tastefully smooth and uniquely satisfying, with just enough edge to stimulate the senses. T.H.E.M also enjoyed much input from their dear friend and former employer, new wave pioneer Jon St. James (of SSQ, Berlin, Stacey Q, and Red Flag producing/engineering fame).

pretty almost on it.......2005-01-05

hey its great how they seem to got all these musical influence things going on for them, the dead or alive and etcetc,
they got some energy yeah but i feel that this guys voice is lacking a little in power. i think theres the potential there but its stuck somewhere inside his him.. most likely in his throat. i mean they put all the right stuff in the oven but it needs a little time to cook if you know what im sayin. although they seem to be better than alot of stuff ive searched out on cdnow today, if that helps any.

One Of My New Favorites.......2002-11-06

Just got my copy and I love it. If you like 80's vocal driven synth-pop, you will enjoy this. I dig how the band blend elements
of goth and euro-pop together with guy and girl vocal switch offs. The track Wicked is truly my fave. Surprisingly there are two downtempo tracks on the album, which I wouldn't expect from a group like this, but it actually works. I also dig Voices and Here We Go which I hear at the clubs right now. Recommended for those who love indie electro bands like fischerspooner.

don't waste your money on this one unless you like other similar club goth drivel like vnv nation and covenant. although i despise mindless darkwave i will even admit that covenant is light years better than this ... garbage. i can't even listen to an entire song, my skip button got overheated from this album. so sorry i paid the full amazon.com price for this.

Fantastic Electro Pop.......2002-10-21

I took a chance and bought this album, after seeing it in the recommendations page of an album I recently purchased. Heavily influenced by early 1980's New Wave such as Siouxie and the Banshees, Kate Bush, Human League, and Dead or Alive, but also with enough of a modern edge to it too keep it from sounding too retro, this album fits in nicely with the current Electroclash genre sweeping the clubs. The difference with T-H-E-M, however, is they have a strong pop sensibility, and the songs to match their electro grooves. Which should make them one of the few electroclash artists to be taken out of the clubs and into the charts. Highly recommended!!!
