Product Description
Straight off the back of his critically acclaimed album Home Sweet Home, Kano releases 'Nite Nite'. Featuring Mike Skinner and vocals from The Streets' Leo The Lion, it's a soulful, piano driven summer jam of a record that epitomises the new post Dizzee confidence in British rap and sees Kano coming on like Kanye's little brother. 'Nite Nite' is original, fresh, undeniably British and straight from the street but still has the chops to realise Kane's very real crossover potential. The title track is backed with 'Nobody Don't Dance No More' (remix) & 'Reload It' (feat. Demon & Double E remix). 679. 2005.

Best known for the infamous "Dinah-Mo-Hum"--a tale of sexual depravity and bovine perspiration--Over-Nite Sensation is a flawlessly executed collection of jazz-rock Frank Zappa classics. The seven-song set, which includes backup vocals by Tina Turner and the Ikettes, equally showcases Zappa's unique penchant for storytelling and the abilities of his studio-musician sidemen. Zappa's guitar work is also some of his finest, flaring up on "I'm the Slime," "Zomby Woof" and "Montana." --Andrew Boscardin
Customer Reviews:
Nowhere near a sellout, just a contiunation of the brilliance..........2007-06-04
In a career of brilliant work, some Zappaphiles have called this album a blatant sellout. This is preposterous. This is not a sellout by any stretch of the imagination. It's simply Zappa, one of the most prolific and greatest musicians ever to exist in the US or the world, reinventing himself. There is not one song here that can be called a blatant attempt at top 40 airplay. Every song here display Zappa's sense of humour, sense of satire, and intricate musicianship. My favorites are I'm the Slime (which is still valid today), Caramillo Brillo, and the Zappa classic Dinah Moe-Humm. It's taken a while for Dinah to grow on me, but it has. Zappa once said that thanks to songs like Dinah (and Don't Eat the Yellow Snow and T***ies and Beer), he managed to get enough cash to make his orchestral work (the LSO album in particular). So the album was a hit, but it's still Zappa. It can't be mistaken for anyone else. This is great stuff, yet one more great album in the Zappa universe.
masterwork.......2007-05-12
It is a pure masterwork, and also a very good introduction to Zappa's music. The band at this period is at its best, the repertoire is fantastic : to get immediately !
Zappa and the Mothers.......2007-05-07
Zappa is certainly not for everyone, only for the pompous musicians who want to push your musical horizons to the limit. For the sick in humor, for the musician's musicians hall of fame of musicians. For those unable to grow up .For a cult following that has grown. And for those who agree that Zappa was a great guitar player and thinker.
Insanely,humorously good.
Stripped-down and funky.......2007-03-28
"Overnite Sensation" was the record that set Zappa's direction for the next couple years. A new "Mothers" line-up, stripped-down sound, and a different approach altogether. In many ways, this was his favorite line-up, every musician featured was an accomplished musician in his or her own right, and the material showcases all their talents accordingly.
At this point, it was apparent to FZ that dumbed-down lyrics sell, so that's what he gave the audience. Lyrically, silliness like "Zomby-Woof" and "Montana" don't really pack any punch, but they still come out of your speakers without compromising your integrity too much. But, like the early records, where the magnificent musicianship is offset by casually tossed-off vocal mistakes, here the contrast is silly words, well sung, but silly nonetheless, delivered in front of some incredible sounding music.
There isn't really all that much to say about this work that hasn't been said already, it's just a very slick performance of some vintage early 70's funk/jazz/rock.
Vocalist Ricky Lancelotti was to join the band for the tour they were to soon go on, but injured himself, and didn't make the tour. Here, in "Fifty-Fifty" and "Zomby-Woof," the listener is given a taste. Unbelievable vocal pipes. The whole band as a unit is top-notch, jazz violinist Jean Luc Ponty adds a little elegant touch, as well as some furious soloing, and Ruth Underwood's (nee Komonoff) percussion helped forge the trademark 70's Zappa sound. Plus, listen for Tina Turner's unbilled vocal performance. Ike really was a creep, wasn't he? The "Ikettes" give it a little color with their voices, but weren't allowed by good ol' Ike to receive credit for their work, nor payment for multiple sessions. They were to only be paid for one session. The business is full of these types, but, I guess, so is the whole "civilized" world.
From the beginning notes of "Camarillo Brillo" to the fade-out that ends "Montana," "Overnite Sensation" is one very enjoyable, vintage recording.
Another great Zappa album.......2007-03-09
I really love this album. Most of its songs are very funny and have great instrumentation. Seriously songs like Fifty-Fifty and Montana have such amazing solos its hard to believe they were written in the 70's. But what I really believe is showed off on this album is Zappas is more focused on funny lyrics more than political issues, mocking certain groups and such. I think the lyrics to Camarillo Brillo and Montana are especially funny. I think every track on the album is very good, with the exception of Dihna-moe-humm which I think he could have been a little more subtle about, and songs like Montana are close to perfection. I don't care about solos very much anymore, I still like solos but they aren't a necessity, but my favorite moment on theis record would be the very long solo on the song Montana, it is one of the best solos I've ever heard and I think it is very ahead of its time. You never really know what to expect from Zappa because his styles change so much from album to album, but this album the style changes on just about every song. Some people would see this as scattershot but I see it as a true sign of his creative genious. This album has elements of country, blues, funk, jazz, and rock so there is something on this album for everyone (Except for prudes)

Prince is just plain Prince........2006-08-09
For better or for worse, the man still has not changed much in the 22 years that I have been a fan of his. I still see that his concerts go big on the most recent material (i.e. things he has with a new album) while alot of the oldies are glossed over and played for about 15 seconds (enough just to get one refrain in):(
I swear to you, this box set is sorta the same old thing you can expect from this man. I paid $50.00 for this and got three CD's worth of music (some great, some so-so and some just overly long stuff) You mostly pay $25.00 for the music and $ 25.00 for the box itself with the booklet inside! I almost feel the rube but I am willing to give this a second chance. So far, not so pleased though:
Prince is a brilliant genius. What can you say he loves to jam. And in one of the CD's "It AINT over", there the man is playing "Girls & Boys". Which come to think of it is almost 8 minutes of him & his band and the only reason this is considered "Girls & Boys" is because the chant of "I love you baby, I love you so much" is said by the audience at the beginning of the song! How is that "Girls & Boys??!?? I love that song, but with no Eric Leeds onstage with him, that song is NEVER to be played! The same treatment is given to "Peach" ANOTHER great song which leaves U thinking "What the hell..?" Prince obviously dances to the beat of his own drummer. Lol And so it goes on.
The second CD has alot of Prince just doing his regular "slow jams" melodies and I swear you will think because you see on the CD listing for "Diamonds & Pearls" and "Do me Baby" but get ready for just 20 seconds of each song (thus, that is considered long enough for a track listing (???)) Then get ready to hear yet another over-long rendition of "Nothing Compares 2 U" and "Anna Stesia". I swear, why does he love "Nothing.." so much? It was never a hit for him! It's his song so whatever...("Adore", "The Beautiful 1's", "Take me with U" and "Raspberry Beret" are given good treatments, but "Diamonds & Pearls", "Free", "Do me Baby" and "Starfish & Coffee" are given the bum-rush jobs)
Obviously, as always the man wants people to know his newer material "Muse 2 the Pharoah", "1+1+1 is 3", "Everlasting Now", "Avalanche" et al are all mostly played their entire length. That's fine, but don't be SO impatient to run through your catalogue so fast that certain songs (new or old) suffer from BEING TOO SHORT!!!!! He USED to take his time with his songs when the concerts were simpler (think Controversy tour 1981), when "Purple Rain" hit, the concerts became more rushed in my opinion.
Save the $50. This set has bad false advertising, plus it's from a period of time where Prince's "Hero" Larry Graham got too much stage time. (I thought Sonny T was Prince's hero???)
Wish I would have Been There!.......2006-08-06
Very hot, at times experimental, incredible muscicianship, and flat out funky songs! A great package, and worth every penny.
ROCKS HARD IN A FUNKY PLACE.......2006-03-31
One Nite Alone...Live! delivers rich funk, smooth jazz and powerful rock! Maceo Parker, Rhonda Smith, John Blackwell, Renato Neto join Prince in this amazing 3 disc live recording. From the opening track "Rainbow Children" to the final track "Everlasting Now" you'll be transported to another planet! Song like Rainbow Children, 1+1+1=3, The Beautiful Ones, Joy in Repetition, Take Me With U, Do Me Baby deliver the album. Amazing collection of material that will please the new fans as well as the old ones. Overall, Prince - One Nite Alone...Live! is truly one of the greatest live recordings out there! This album will not disappoint! Solid live material, beautiful music/vocals, over 30+ songs are presented. Will make a great addition to your Prince collection!
Prince One Nite Alone... Perfection Y'all.......2005-11-30
I have never heard a live concert of this nature! I am an avid Michael Jackson. Pound for Pound Prince takes his live music to an entirely different level. This music is estacy! This is absolutely a wonderful concert collection that I spent nearly 2 months looking for and then I found it at the Virgin Music Mega Store in Time Square!
I dont need to go song by song... from start to finish its an absolute roller coaster of nothing but music!
Soul, Jazz, and R&B under one roof... too much!
I've also got to say, I wasnt a Prince fan until I saw his concert live in Las Vegas. After that I was hooked!
YOU DONT NEED TO BE A FAN TO HAVE THIS COLLECTION ON YOUR IPOD!
THIS ALBUM KEEPS ME BUSY WHILE ON THE SUBWAY!
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT
100% FUNK MUSIC!
Awesome.......2005-11-10
Even if your not a Prince fan, this album will blow you away if your a music lover. His arrangements and the level of perfection on this album is out of this world.
You just dont know what he'll do next on every song. The solo's, the breaks, the singing and musicianship is one of the best I've heard on one single album. You also get the feeling that they are enjoying it, yet so disciplined and organised. None of the songs are overplayed and even the tracks that are over 7 or 8 minutes keep you on the egde waiting for more magic. This album is worth every penny. Buy it.

Five producers are represented in this sampler of pre-superstar Willie, including RCA titan Chet Atkins. (For a more thorough overview of Nelson's RCA years, investigate The Essential Willie Nelson.) The great appeal of this 18-song collection, however, lies in its scope. By the time he'd signed with RCA in 1964, Nelson was established as a proficient Music City songsmith whose own recordings were frustratingly underappreciated. While the likes of "Nite Life," "Hello Walls," "Funny How Time Slips Away," and "Crazy" (all represented here) may have been country hits for others (Ray Price, Faron Young, Billy Walker, and Patsy Cline, respectively), young Willie's takes reflect his remarkable talents as a vocalist. Then, too, there are the likes of the obscure "Opportunity to Cry," as dark a song as ever came out of Nashville. Nite Life presents a trailbreaker in the making, providing a perspective on an essential phase in Nelson's development. --Steven Stolder
Customer Reviews:
I guess Nashvile was the roughest........2007-04-11
Willie Nelson didn't become a country music superstar until 1975, when he was 42 years old. He had been trying to make it for over 20 years before he had his breakthrough hit, "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain". Before that, he was best known as a songwriter; having written hits for Patsy Cline, Ray Price, Faron Young, Billy Walker, Roy Orbison and others. He had some moderate success as a recording artist, with his biggest hit being "Touch Me" in 1962, which was a #7 Country hit. That song is on this CD, along with a few other minor hits and several non-hits. This material shows that Willie's unique singing style had been there from the beginning. Because he was so unique, prodcers often didn't know what to do with him, and sometimes stuck him with arrangements that didn't really suit him. Most of the material here works well, although not as well as when Nashville just gave up and let Willie do his own thing. This is a good sampler of Willie's early years. My personal favorite is the autobiographical "Me and Paul".
Great Cd .......2006-12-30
I ordered this for a member of the family looking for a few particular songs. This cd had them all and then some. He was very satisfied with the quality of the cd. I was very satisfied with Amazon service and fast shipping of seller. Great cd for all those long time Willie Nelson fans!
An Eclectic and Visionary Collection.......2006-09-25
This fascinating collection of early singles, rarities, and album tracks off of early Liberty and RCA recordings of Willie finds him searching for his voice, yet is entirely satisfying and remarkably consistent. It's a great record.
The early recordings of some of Willie's best known songs -- "Nite Life," "Crazy," "Healing Hands of Time," "Hello Walls" -- all benefit from the spare, open, and nuanced arrangements found here.
Willie's early rockabilly efforts are particularly successful -- "Rainy Day Blues" sounds a bit like early Mose Alison, and "Everything But You" could have fit easily onto a Johnny Cash or Elvis Sun Session recording.
Willie's bright and tasteful arrangement of "Bring Me Sunshine" -- perhaps the only song here that is not about a lost love and feeling blue and lonely -- clearly presages the work he would do a decade later with Booker T and the MGs on Stardust. I hope the album that track came off of is re-released in its entirety soon. Finally, his clever and economical songwriting style is highlighted in "One in a Row," one of his finest songs on an otherwise superlative album.
Fans of Willie would be well-served to pick up this early collection, it does not disappoint.
Outstanding Album.......2006-05-15
Let me start by saying that I'm not a big fan of Willie Nelson's voice and delivery of a song. But, I doubt if there will ever be (or has ever been) a songwriter of Willie's caliber....well, maybe Don Gibson? Still, this collection of early Willie Nelson is amazing, and in my opinion, his best vocal work. I'm especially partial to "Mr Record Man", "One in A Row", and "Man With the Blues". There's also an assortment of Willie Nelson penned numbers made famous by others, including "Hello Walls" and "Funny How Time Slips Away". While his take lacks the smoothness of Faron Young and Ray Price, it is interesting to see how Willie envisioned their delivery. It would be worth your time and money to grab this CD while it's still available. It presents a glance into a Willie Nelson that most folks didn't realize existed; a Willie Nelson that didn't quite fit into the Nashville Sound formula.
A Curiosity, Yet One of Willie's Best.......2005-12-03
Admittedly, I haven't heard everything in Willie's huge cataloge. But listening to this, I'm struck by how strong his voice was in the early '60s when these seminal tunes were cut. These are all wonderful genre-bending songs, relaxed, down and full of soul, with Willie's trademark, just-behind-the-beat vocal phrasing, the kind of thing jazz singers have long done. Accompaniments are generally just right, spare, bluesy and loose. Nothing here is dated. If you're a "Stardust" fan or a newcomer to Willie, you'll be greatly surprised by just how right this collection sounds. Pick it up, by all means. It's a total classic glimpse of, yes, a genius just starting out, but sounding like he's got the wisdom of an old man.

You no longer have to choose between Zappa's two best albums.......2004-03-18
The debate seems to be centered on which of Frank Zappa's albums is the best and the choice is between "Apostrophe" and "Over-nite Sensation." But such a debate is moot if you put the two albums on one CD, right? Besides, these albums run a bit short on their own, so putting them together makes sense on that economic level as well.
"Apostrophe," in its own words, "is an album of songs and stories set to music performed for your dining and dancing pleasure." The first four songs are about an Eskimo that almost makes sense, which makes this something of an actual concept album, at least for the first "side" of the record. What I remember is that "Don't Eat the Yellow Snow" was my first exposure to the musical stylings of Frank Zappa (my roommate did the "listen to this" bit with me). The best guitar solos are on "Cosmik Debris," "Stink-Foot," and the title cut. The lyrics are perhaps a dark shade of Zappa than you usually find, but it was 1974 and that could explain it right there since you should look for deep, hidden meanings in the songs of Frank Zappa, but just not in any conventional way.
Now, the reason I have this album can easily be explained by quoting the chorus of the first track, "Camarillo Brillo":
She had a snake for a pet
And an amulet
And she was breeding a dwarf
But she wasn't done yet
She had gray-green skin
A doll with a pin
I told her she was awright
But I couldn't come in
(actually, I was very busy then).
The lyrics are what hooked me, but I also like the way George Duke pounds the ivories during that song. Along with "I'm the Slime" and "Dirty Love" I think that the first three tracks on "Overnite Sensation" distill the Zappa essence as well as any comparable set you can find in his entire oeuvre. Perhaps the best proof of this would the anecdotal evidence that this is the album people who only own one Frank Zappa album happen to own. This would make sense since "Overnite Sensation" is probably more rock-oriented than most of Zappa's albums. For songs about in a similar vein, only about an Eskimo, check out "Apostrophe," which was produced in the same time with pretty much the same musicians.

Santa Cruz product Miguel Migs gently but firmly tears the roof off with 24th St Sounds, his latest example of the sunny, uptempo chill music known as "deep" house. As practiced by Migs, Ben Watt, King Britt and others, the style takes the raunch of classic house and replaces it with a polished cocktail vibe, creating a hybrid your parents might even enjoy. Not to say that it doesn't kick; 24th St Sounds is a smooth ride, but it's also a relentless--and fantastic--dance record. Migs knows how to blend, and his positive energy would sound just as good in a grimy New York basement club as it would at a Riviera beach bash. He starts hot, leaving the soft melodies in the background on floor stompers like "Waiting." After a slight lull, he picks up again for the luminous "You Can't Stop," and backs off with the spare, borderline electro of Trevor Lovey's "The Bounce." The second disc, culled from Migs's studio catalog, sounds more thrown together and lacks disc 1's drive and cohesion. But really, it's hard to get too much of 24th St Sounds, as long as you're in a good mood (or won't mind being put into one). --Matthew Cooke

Miguel's rockin' downtown sounds.......2006-09-30
With 24th Street Sounds, master mixer miguel migs goes for broke and pumps up the volume. There are some absolutely electric tracks on this double disc, in particular the remedy, one two one two, waiting, don't change, the bounce, making moves and bump selecta. Make plenty of room in your collection for some big sounds
Deep Deep.......2006-05-24
This is a nice deep house production. If you like this, check out the first full length CD for producer Quentin Allen as Karu. There are other 12" releases on Silver Network, Dadhouse, Winding Road, Mimosa & Smooth Agent. This CD is a very consistant production with a good blend of jazz, hip-hop, techno, neo-soul, and deep house all together. The beats are very crisp and sound good in the car, the house or the club. Some songs tastefully use vocal snippets to add flavor. There is even a track featuring Warren Harris aka Hanna (Shadow Records, Silver Network, Flat & Round, Freerange). If you want good quality deep house, this CD is for you.
This is barely a classic dance album - the second disc helps A LOT to give it "5" stars - dance fans will still love it.......2006-01-10
If it weren't for the second disc here, this would've just been a very good album and I would've given it "4.5" stars. The first disc is great dance stuff, but it also tends to get a little repetitive. Despite that, however, I could definitely see this being played at a semi-sophisticated dance party. It's essentially a jazz-influenced dance album that I can't quite find the right words to explain. It's definitely interesting stuff and good on its own - the production is fantastic. What makes this a classic, though, is the second disc. This is where Miguel Migs truly shows us his skills, and as a whole it's less repetitive and a lot more interesting. Basically every song on it is different, and most of them are fun to listen to. With a combined total of 28 tracks, this is a GREAT buy! Dance and Miguel Migs fans should love this album, and I think it even has relatively good appeal otherwise. All in all this is highly recommended!
Highlights include:
the entire album(s)!
Someone set the drum machine to auto.......2005-12-04
I normal like this genre of music but this double CD is just mixed beats and nothing new.
Best Electronic CD I've had in while!.......2005-09-24
This is one of those cds you start liking just ok, and then totally loving it. This cd is very well worked, and has some very very good standout tracks that you would be lucky to hear on the floor of a dance club. The quality of recording, beats, and samples is just amazing. Especially good tracks include Mig's "Come On (deeper mood mix)," Generous Flavour's "Waiting," and especially Jean Marie K & Oliver Fox's "You Can't Stop." While the reviews say the second cd is not as coherent I would have to disagree. The second disk is all Miguel Migs, and is smoother/more laid back than the first. Here there are some amazing standout tracks too that put you in awesome moods. "Don't Stand There," "Making Moves," and probably one of the smoothest grooves on the cd "The Remedy." Definitely worth buying if you enjoy other works by naked music or if you like Dance music with some substance to it.

Product Description
Welcome to the LATE NITE VIP, the debut album of recording artist Keo Nozari where the New York-based singer/songwriter/producer invites you, the listener, into an exclusive room of aural sensation. Behind the velvet rope of Keo's musically diverse album includes collaborations with Curtis Richardson (the co-writer of a Billboard #1 pop song for Jennifer Lopez and L.L. Cool J. as well as a hit for Joss Stone) and producer/ songwriter Ellis Miah (whose over twenty Top Ten hits on Billboard charts include original songwriting and productions for Loleatta Holloway, Kristine W, Suzanne Palmer, Snaps Thea Austin, Nitty and Reina and through his remix production work for Annie Lennox, Back Street Boys, Yoko Ono, and Craig David ). Says Keo on the album: "I set out to tell the story of all that late night can befrom a glittery, lusty, superficial night on the town, to the intimacy and uncertainty that darkness can bring. We often ask ourselves all kinds of questions! in the dark and say things we would never dare say in the daylight!" Additional note: the album's first remixed, progressive trance single "Close Enough (Noel Sanger / Interstate Remixes)" was released by the internationally renowned DJ/Producer Armin Van Buuren (rated #3 in the world by DJ Times magazine), on his label Armada Music/ Coldharbour.

Eclectic Late Night Dance/Groove.......2006-04-25
A very fine first CD, comparable in overall style and excellence of composition and production to Ari Gold. Extremely listenable, and no doubt will be extensively played in dance clubs all over the world. It's a good example of the new translational style popularized in mixes by DJs such as Miguel Miggs, Ben Watt, et al. This is great stuff for playing in your car real loud, tooling down the road with all the windows open. Summer music par excellence.
The NEW George Michael.......2005-10-04
If you love George Michael as much as I do, you're gonna love this guy. It's the kind of album I wish Goerge could still do (remember Faith?) -- on one-hand it's a really deep album of great substance and on the other it's a totally fun fluffy dance-y good time. Compared to so many albums out there where every song sounds the same, Late Nite VIP offers surprises at every turn. I can't think of another album in recent memory that goes from Electro dance to Rock to Bossa Nova without missing a beat. And Keo's flexible voice goes from George to a sort of reedy, John Mayer-ish thing at times to Daniel Bedingfield and even Justin Timberlake. Yet, Keo has very much his own style... Move over, guys!

Revolution in house music.......2002-02-14
Having had the chance to watch these gentlemen perform live twice during the last 9 months, this CD represents their ability, passion, their unmatched sound and most importantly their opinion on life, music, themselves and on other people.Your opinion on this CD will definitely reflect your views on other people, your professional career, music and most of all yourselves. In my opinion this was the best album I have purchased for at least three years, and it has been a never ending listening pleasure since the moment I bought it.The key to this CD is that it will sound much better as you listen to it more and over and over again. This is the key and this is what tech-house and tribal house is all about.Patience is the name of the game.
TO THE POINT: Original and Fresh.......2001-07-26
No need to write paragraph after paragraph about this CD. If you like Tech-House than you will love this CD.These guys are innovators and their mixing is tight. If all of the songs are unfamiliar than good! This must be an original CD.Halo and Hippie are leaders, not followers. There is a lot of hype on these two "under the radar".Check em' out. You won't be dissapointed.
dub-latin house showcased from some rising talent.......2001-02-21
It's darn annoying how commercially advanced British dance music is compared to the States. First, their audience receives the huge choon mega-comps from Ministry of Sound, Gatecrasher, and the like that offer the best bang for the buck sugar rush on the market. Next, England's on it when capturing dance history from America, not just in variety of soul and funk sets but our key artists: take New York DJs Larry Levan and David Mancuro, massively influential figures in the 70s and 80s with definitive releases (Levan's Live at the Paradise Garage, Mancuro's The Loft 1 & 2) only available via import.
Then there's the fact that niche DJs, rising stars, and obscure material have more opportunity to be heard by the public than America currently offers. That's where San Diego's Halo and Hipp-e factor in, the house producer/spinner tandem releasing singles for the past two years and now soaring high on the media buzz-o-meter. In fact, Halo's solo effort "Future" was played by about everyone with a record needle, becoming a definitive tune of 2000. So with their work popularized by Steve Lawler, Doc Martin and the like our friends across the pond tapped the duo for a two-disc mix encapsulating their sound.
Ah, their sound. Deliciously groovy tribal-dub-house with strong Latin percussion influences, eschewing singers but loaded with chunky vibe. After a warm up (somewhat repetitive) hour, the takeoff into deeper, spacier rhythms, miles away from diva-obviousness and typical 4/4 stomping, leave you firmly in their grasp. Reliant on intricate beatwork (All Good Funk Alliance "Unica") and sharp execution, when Midnite City Soul Affair's "Still Loving You" drops you couldn't move more if the speaker were wired to your hips. Why, it plays like a set you'd actually want hear at a show when good music, not other activities, was the higher priority
It's surprising that the strongly represented West Coast dance scene missed out to nab these men for a DJ release. Ah, they'll probably have that chance, so let's hope that other like-minded acts and leftfield artists, those removed from our superbly marketed rave culture, get their chance instead. Disc 1: B- disc 2: B+

A Must Own.......2001-06-13
Yeah, I found out about the Nighthawks in the mid 70's as well. I guess this one in particular made such an impression that I plunged headlong into collecting blues music. Today this recording remains my favorite blues cd along with the first release by Roomful of Blues. I don't write many recommendations, so if you are on the fence, and looking for a hidden gem, grab this one.
These guys are boiling hot!.......2000-08-27
I've been into the Nighthawks since the early '70's while living in Washington, D.C. I used to catch them at the Bayou and Cellar Door in Georgetown, and Phychedelly in Bethesda, MD. They're the best blues band there is and this CD is evidence of that. Hey, Mark and Jimmy, I'm still your biggest fan! I've had this album since way back when and now with no record player (remember those?) I am delighted the CD is available to replace my record. No, I'm not getting rid of the ol' vinyl copy. It'll be a collector's item someday!
absolutely brilliant.......2000-03-25
gobsmacked when I heard this one...get it!
