I kid you not this music is absolutely mind blowing!.... Even if you are not into trance/house , I recommend this CD you will LOVE it.. Steve Angello has really Made anoutstanding mix right here... I saw him at a Rave and he played some of these tracks and the people were going nuts..

Buy this CD if you like Music... Its a piece of Art!

5 out of 5 stars Holy [...]!.......2006-09-24

This mix is amazing! Pick this one up immediately if you are a trance fanatic. File in the same catagory as Sander Kleinenberg & Seb Fontaine, this cd will make you dance and it will get you lost in the mix. Some high octane synthesizers add to the beat on Ian Carey's Say What You Want. Plus there is a nine minute version of Guy Gerber's Stoppage Time. The whole mix is good and even both discs. Plus it has Sebastian Ingrosso remixes, who is one of the top 100 dj's to watch. He should come out with his own album soon enough. I might even pick up another Sessions album. This could be my favorite trance cd of year, and definitely a contender with ATB-Dj in the mix & Thrillseekers-Nightmusic.

5 out of 5 stars Chillout Sessions - Vol. 4.......2006-02-25

Great set for some smooth ambient music. The first disc is a lot more laid back than the second, but both are good. If you've heard the other chillout sessions (or are looking for a good intro), this is a great pick up.

5 out of 5 stars Chillout 4.......2004-12-14

Out of all the MOS Chillout Sessions, Number 4 seems to be the best so far,

It gives you a feel if what the cover displays WInter White Darkness Chillot to relax by.

A good mix, esp including some non English SOngs, and songs that have the feel of the 20s.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely Amazing.......2003-05-21

I bought this cd today, and I'm yet again, incredibly impressed. MOS has not failed in bringing yet another beautiful mix of songs. I would definately recommend it to any chillout fan.

4 out of 5 stars MOS Does It Again,.......2006-03-05

Ministry Of Sound has always had the reputation of putting out the best music. They have a way of findind the best DJ's, Artists, producers and remixers from the 4 corners of the earth and bringing them to us on a CD. This CD is no exception. Soothing beats without lacking in tempo or energy, this CD could literally be enjoyed by a cowbow from Kentucky. It's just that palattable.

4 out of 5 stars Solid Chill CD Set. Check Songs Listed For Potential Repeats.......2005-02-10

Tons of Great Songs with great mixes (which don't always go hand in hand). The previous review was too critical just becasue he already had many of the songs. Just read the list of all 40 Songs that come with this two CD set if that is a concern. There are enough good/great songs to justify at least 4/5 stars overall. If you love "Chill" music, there are too many good songs to pass this one up! Highly Reccommend.

1 out of 5 stars no go........2004-10-18

yeah....this cd bit. i bought chillout sessions 4 last year, and looked forward to buying this compilation as well. unfortunately, it didn't live up to the last one. out of the 20 or so tracks on the first cd, i liked 2-3...and they were all on other compilations i already own. the same was true for the second cd. this was not worth the money. i was very disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars The ultimate chillout album.......serve chilled ;) .......2004-07-28

Ever have one of those days when nothing seems to be going well and you just feel like throwing all your toys out of your pram?

Well this is the kind of music you need. It will open your up your mind...transport you to another world...and ultimatley get you back on track.

Every good downtempo track or artist you can probably think of from the past year or so is represented here - Joss Stone, Turin Breaks, Ikon, Jack Johnson, Coldplay...

Defintely not your regular chillout album full of bland repetitive beats...

The first disc is more laidback than the first...a wonderful collection of blissed out beats beginning with Zero 7's Home which gently eases you into chill mode. The second disc however gives you the option of uping the tempo with a dancier mix of grooves aimed at progressively lifting your spirits.

By the time you've worked your way through both discs, you'll be well and ready take on the world again!

A must buy if you're looking for an album to chill to...this is the ultimate in its class, an truly amazing mix of laidback house and blissful beats that make for the ultimate chill.

5 out of 5 stars predawn hangout, late night rendezvous.......2003-11-25

Certain CDs take on characteristics other than the music offered, it's what I would call "flavor". On MOS's Late Night Sessions III, Terry Farley and Pete Heller manage a tour of the late night coffee houses that double as trendy hotspots scattered throughout the UK. The special kind of places where people tend to drift toward, gather, mix, mingle, exchange ideas, contacts, discoveries, share stories, and hip each other to upcoming events. These bastions of culture accidentally become the marks of embarkation for the evenings activities and the ultimate safe return when exhaustion sets in. Places that unintentionally become proving ground on the current scene. This social phenomena is essential in understanding this very comfortable, honest collection of wonderful, downtempo house tunes corralled for this compilation. Farley and Heller know their stuff. Meant as an after-hours cool down collection from the rough and tumble club chaos, these 2 disc serve as an educational journey through the best of house music's history. Not all tunes are current, but remain relative and essential for completion of the project. This isn't just entertainment, it's a package deal of substance and style. 25 choice cuts to numerous too mention but a few: John Cutler and DJ Roman - The Ride, King Britt - Scuba, The Good Reverend Dr. Gary Henry - Faith, Francois K - Time and Space, Scott Grooves - Organ Nights, Blue Six - Music and Wine, Fresh and Low - Going Away, Soul Dharma - Flower, Elegia - From Nowhere With Love, Nick Holder - Paradise, and Mutiny - Bliss. It all has a familiarity like all these tunes have been hanging out together, grooving, being buddies for a long time. Farley and Heller are hipped as the mix flows like the blue river Danube for Mozart in 1755 - clean, uncluttered, with grassy picnic banks, and late night frolicking swims. Grab a latté or Café Oley, add some pastries, crumbled cheese, and gather round with company you love to keep. Late Night Sessions III will score the fond memory deep into your subconscious mind. You can play it back time and again with each spin of this subliminal album.

5 out of 5 stars The late night/chillout CD to finish off a night of clubbin'.......2002-02-07

This was the third and final installment of the Ministry of Sound's Late Night Sessions. The excellence that was demonstrated on the first two CDs in the series (the first mixed by DJ Harvey and the second by X-Press 2) continued with Farley and Heller.

The first CD of this third volumn has so many tracks that stand-out as real gems like "Ncameu", a very soulful, deep house tune. "Equitorial" is also a soothing track as well, but with a more Latin, tribal beat. One of my favorites is the "The Ride" which is definitely deep house, but on the progressive/trance side. And King Britt's "Scuba" is definitely not to be missed. But, my absolute favorite on CD 1 is "Faith", a very deep, dark, soulful track that lurks around with a very meaningful spoken refrain. After listening to this track, you will definitely believe that "Faith is your best friend." And the Latin-infected "Feel What You Know" will give you a little invigoration before coming back down.

The second CD is deeper and slower than the first. It is obvious that there is a progression going on here. As the CD moves, the tracks become darker and more mellow. The best track on CD 2 is Blue Six's "Music and Wine". This is definitely one of the best deep house track ever. It has an excellent groove that certainly helps you relax. And probably many clubbers and househeads can probably relate to the track's chorus. Then comes "Singing Da Blues" which reminds me of Billie Holiday. The track is steady, haunting, almost hypnotic and the acoustic guitar adds the perfect touch. Other favorites are "Float", "Going Away", and "From Nowhere with Love."

Overall, this is a fantastic CD. Farley and Heller really did an excellent job choosing, then mixing the tracks together. If you can get your hands on any of the Ministry of Sound's "Late Night Sessions" compilations, you will not be disappointed. This Farley and Heller mix is probably my favorite, but all of them are excellent. These CDs have the quality and skill that are lacking on the MoS' current "Chill-Out" Sessions series.

      3 out of 5 stars no flow....don't bother.......2002-10-05

here is the review: you would think that MOS would have enough care and concern to AT LEAST give each of these unbelievable house dj's a full cd to work with. the tracks are good...but there is no flow, no individuality, so it's lame.

don't waste your money. save it until one of these guys comes to your area and spend it on that..when they have several hours to communicate not 40 min.

4 out of 5 stars Three Tastes That Taste Good Together.......2002-07-21

Volume 12 of MoS's "Sessions" series is a mix CD featuring three of the most-respected names in House: Louie Vega, Tony Humphries and Tedd Patterson. Vega leads the set by mixing tracks 1-11 of Disc One. While Vega is a DJ I admire, he isn't one of my very favorites. I really like his fusion of soulful house with Latin touches, but at times he gets a little too mellow for my taste. In my opinion, his house generally is more likely to make you chill than make you dance. But, that's just my opinion. Things began to shift gears and the pace picks up when we get to the rest of Disc One, which is mixed by Tony Humphries (tracks 12-16). Here, the beats really start to kick and the groove gets more infectious. Humphries is really no stranger to the game of House, and his contribution to this disc proves that.

We now proceed to Disc Two, and it's easily my favorite. Humphries gives us slammin beats and soulful vocals in the old school tradition from tracks 1-4. I think Humphries gravitates towards house that's contemporary but not overly trendy. Still, these four tracks are slammin' and blend into the rest of the disc, where Patterson now takes helm. Patterson's mix is also an engaging blend of soulful house with pretty good beats and decent vocals.

"Sessions 12" isn't my favorite of the MoS series, but it's an overall solid package that soars largely on the strength of Humphries, who makes the best impression among these three DJs. If you can fork out the extra cash for this import, then this double CD is a sound investment.

3 out of 5 stars MOS does it again...???.......2002-03-24

With all the hype surrounding this release, because of the stellar combo of DJ's doing the mix, it seemed like a no-brainer to get this one, BUT it seemed like the mixes got less interesting with each passing of the torch. Little Louie's mix was done immaculately, however the tracks were remneince of many other compilations on the market. Tony's mix wasn't as common, but the "garaginess" of that set sounded a little forced, last time I heard Tony wasn't only about vocals. Tedd's mix was too laid back and self-indulgent to have any effect and bored me.
I'll still hold on to this one, for Tony's sake, he's my fave outta the bunch :)

4 out of 5 stars The 12th session is good!.......2002-02-27

I'd like to start off by saying greetings to all you househeads in 2002, straight from the HousERaT. I'm looking forward to yet another great year of house music reviews. Thanks for all the folks who support house music. I've got quite a few reviews to do this year so read on and enjoy. Just remember, "House is a feeling." On to the review...

My first of the year is the import CD Sessions 12 presented by Ministry of Sound. Called "The Magic Sessions," you get the talents of three of house music's established DJs. Little Louie Vega, Tony Humphries and Tedd Patterson light up this 2 CD set with 3 mini sets. I must say I wasn't impressed with the format. Three mini sets squeezed into two CDs? This doesn't make for the smoothest ride however the good music selection does dampen the blow some.

Tracks 1-11 CD1 (44:17) make the mini set mixed by Mr. Vega. If you've read my other reviews you know I like Louie Vega in spite of some of his recorded failures. No worry with this set as he gets out the blocks early and sets the pace for this 2 CD compilation. This is a real funky set with deep bass, excellent mixing and a really hot music selection. Vega composes a real nice blend of vocal, progressive house with some Latin, African, and Island flavor mixed in. My cuts of choice are "Babarabatiri", "The Jungle", "Bisou Sucre", "Give It Up", and "Earth Is The Place." This is the best of the three mini sets and is all contained on CD1. Set Vega gets 4.5 stars.

Tracks 12-16 (CD1) & 1-4 (CD2) make the two mini sets composed by Tony Humphries. For those not familiar with Mr. Humphries, his DJ style incorporates heavy inspirational music, sometimes almost gospel music, in his sets. Not my first choice in house music styles but it works for him and has for a very long time. These sets lose points just on format alone (Two small sets on two CDs?) not withstanding the Humphries style that really doesn't fit with anyone else's. CD1 set (30:11) starts out with the choir music and continues with a nice house sound for the rest of the set. The sound, although very religious/inspirational has some real funky beats so you'll still be able to shake what you got. The music is mixed well and the beats are deep enough for me. Cuts of choice on CD1 are "Fly Away", and "Let The Past Rest." CD2 set (29:25) starts out with more vocal inspirational house with some deep, funky beats. This set seems to be more traditional than the first and goes alone much better. Cuts of choice are "Live Your Life", and "Mine To Give." I suppose this would have been much better as one complete set but such is life. Sets Humphries get 3.5 stars.

Tracks 5-11 CD2 (41:02) make the mini set mixed by Tedd Patterson. This is a nice set and a good close to The Magic Sessions. For anyone who read my review of Tedd Patterson on the "House Volumes 1" CD, you know he's one of my favorites. His style is very deep and soulful and he's an excellent mixer. Too bad Mr. Patterson hasn't been able to get more stuff on CD, as he's certainly a DJ I enjoy. This set is composed of mainly house and vocal. The mixing and music selection is good. There aren't really any major weaknesses in this set and I found it to be quite enjoyable. Cuts of choice are "Thru The Time/Supernatural", "Roots Remixed", "Keep On Movin'", and "Over You." Set Patterson gets 4.5 stars.

In all The Magic Sessions is a nice experience. Most of the music is different from the mainstream house sets you hear. No real anthems or top 100s cuts to be found on these CDs. With the exception of the format this was a real nice treat. I wouldn't recommend this to a newbie but I'd certainly advise all househeads to check this one out if you can find it.

      5 out of 5 stars Nice one!.......2002-09-14

I bought this album a while ago and still listen to it now! Most of my collection consists of jazzy, soulful house so this really hits the spot.
Louie Vega starts the set off well with a blend of Afro style house bringing in the amazing Kings of Tommorrow's 'Finally' which is one of my all time favourites. The mix continues with contributions from Ted Patterson and Tony Humphreys. Tony Humphreys definetly does the job in his part of the mix with 3rd Ministry fo Faith's 'joy to the world' which I've witnessed pack a dancefloor to capacity. Ted Patterson ends the set with style on the note of, The Benji Candelario project's 'Spread love' with the amazing soulful vocals of Arnold Jarvis. This is a complete package for...anytime really! Try it when you're getting ready to hit the town on a night out! This is definetly a C.d worth spending you cash on, Trust me!
If you like this, get you're hands on the Sandy Riviera sessions and 'Garage city' with Dj's Spen, Bobby and Steve.
