About the Artist
Mojado is the exciting new neo-techno project from the combined talents of Mr. Sam and Dimitri Andreas, both experienced DJ's and producers. Dimitri Andreas has already unleashed works on techno-label Musicman, and as a DJ he has performed at high profile events throughout Europe such as 'I Love Techno' and 'Made In Brussels'. Already an established artist in his own right, Mr. Sam is very well-known for his superb and highly acclaimed remixes. As his staggering output gradually approaches a decade, his fingerprints have been left upon the reworks he has created for such renowned artists as Sinead O'Connor, Delerium, Blank & Jones, Corvin Dalek, Praga Khan, Timo Maas and Todd Terry to mention a few.
After signing their new debut single 'Naranja' to Tiësto's label Magik Muzik, a highly impressed Tiesto called it "the perfect combination of the techno-mind of Dimitri Andreas and the trance attitude of Mr. Sam." This debut single has already received massive broadband support from Tiësto, Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules, Redhead, Ben Sims and Blank & Jones, and is featured on the first Tiësto "In Concert" DVD. Their second single, 'El Toro', again got worldwide support and ended up on many, many compilations. A third single, 'Señorita', has just been released, and is currently creating mayhem on dancefloors anywhere.
Now these guys have teamed up to merge their influences and inspirations into a hot fusion of styles, to create club music with an attitude. Their debut album, 'Arena' is hard to categorize, as it a unique blend of the various sounds of today. It is perhaps, the perfect Pan-European collaboration, a Dutch record label releasing the works from a Belgian/French duo, inspired by the Spanish culture.
Product Description
Feeling a desperate need to discard the restrictive boundaries which have come to strangle the development of contemporary techno-trance, their style could be best described as a cocktail of sound. 'Arena' is a collection of many influences or as Mr. Sam himself explains: "We can build up a track around salsa music, hard techno or simply a tribal groove... or whatever really, we are not limited to a particular style."
And if you dance, Mr. Sam and Dimitri Andreas will certainly make you wet, like their name Mojado suggests. Soak in their sound and discover how they have fine-tuned their influences from years of writing and playing music, to make this an album with an edge as well. Besides, each track on this album has been carefully crafted with the dancefloor in mind. So if it is interesting and imaginative club music you seek, then you will get the overwhelming feeling of excitement and satisfaction from this album. Undoubtedly, it will get you wishing for the weekend.

A return to their former glory days, Snakes and Arrows shows this seminal prog rock band reclaiming some of the sonic territory that they'd lost over the past few years. It's not certain what contributed to this artistic rebirth, but Rush has crafted a historical and emotional odyssey that shows many both where they've been and where they're going--from the baroque soundscapes of "The Main Monkey Business," reminiscent of their earliest work to the seductive almost folkloric urgency of "The Way the Wind Blows," which is as dangerous, anxious, and prophetic as anything that Arcade Fire or Mars Volta is doing currently. Main Lyricist Neil Peart has spent the last decade getting over the death of his wife and daughter, and those tragic events have given his songwriting more depth and gravity as he explores the strengths and limitations of faith in both metaphoric and literal detail. While never didactic or ponderous, this disc is really an instruction manual for how one conducts themselves with grace and hope through unendurable pain and the vagaries of life. Gone is much of the shrillness of their earlier incarnations--Geddy Lee's trademark high pitch shrieks have mellowed considerably and Alex Lifesong's guitar playing has an assurance and freedom that can only come with age. --Jaan Uhelszki
Album Description
Anthem/Atlantic recording group Rush return with its first new collection of original material in nearly five years, entitled "SNAKES & ARROWS." The album was recorded in the fall of 2006 with Gammy Award-winner Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver) and Rush co-producing. "It's hard to describe," Geddy Lee recently told Revolver re: "SNAKES & ARROWS.""It's big, it's bold, and I think it's some of the best work we've done in years. I'm really pleased with the quality ofthe songs, and there's lots of playing on it. " Rush - Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart - will trumpet the release of "SNAKES & ARROWS" with a full-scale North American tour, the renowned trio's first since 2004's "An Evening with Rush: 30th Anniversary Tour."

May end up in my Top 5 favorite Rush albums..........2007-07-13
While there has been something worthwhile in practically every Rush studio release, few have been this uniformly good. The more I listen, the more there is to like. In fact I like it so much that "Snakes and Arrows" may make it up there in my Top 5 favorite Rush albums (to date, "2112", "A Farewell to Kings", "Hemispheres", "Permanent Waves" and "Moving Pictures").
This is an amalgam of diverse styles and influences (acoustic, blues, prog, modern rock, and more), but with signature Rush elements: Power chords, stops, time changes, and the distinctive sound of all the players.
The disc maintains a thrilling intensity until tracks 10 and 11: "Bravest Face", probably my least favorite track and "Good News First", which I really do like, just not as much as the rest. But the last 2 tracks are phenomenal: "Malignant Narcissism" and "We Hold On".
I saw them live a few weeks ago and it was nice to be looking forward to hearing their latest stuff, not just the "classics".
My only complaint is minor: The use of overdubbing is a little excessive, and in most places unnecessary.
Nick Raskulinecz producing was a cool move!.......2007-07-12
Many of the thoughts have been passionately expressed, but I wanted to add that having Nick Rasckulinez (Foo Fighters, Frank Black and the Catholics, The Reunion Show) was a great change for these guys. Raw, yet sharp. Keeping things fresh while maintaining the 'core' RUSH characteristics we all love.
Objectively speaking....3 stars...but love the new album........2007-07-10
As a Rush fan, I love this album. The only album I honestly do not care for is Test for Echo, which just doesn't do it for me. Compared to Vapor trails, the sound mix is FAR superior...and I LOVE about 1/2 the songs on this album...especially the 2 instrumentals. The other 1/2 are honestly okay for Rush standards. My rating of 3 is based upon comparing it to their other albums. Going back in time, the progression from 2112 to Signals is UNREAL!! If these albums are 5's, then I have to give Snakes&Arrows a 3, which is totally fine...I still love the new with the old. Honestly, playing 3 hours a night in their mid-50's is a 10 in my book :)
Out of the Cradle--WE HOLD ON!!!!!!!.......2007-07-06
From 1996 to 2002 was just an awful time. Thinking Rush has gone away forever! When VT came, that album just hit a nerve, awoken me and millions of others! Great songs, Peaceable Kingdom, Ceiling Unlimited, Nocturne, Secret Touch etc...Just smokin'...I too, being a fan for 32 years, since 1975 and have seen them 31 times...Most of their albums took only 2-3 listens then bam..Or like Grace, Counterparts, Power Windows, 1 (one) listen and bam. Test took a little longer but great album. ..I listened to Snakes album over and over and over and over, about 25 times. At first, it was just Safe? I was somewhat disappointed.. Which disappointed me as being one of the biggest Rush fans, as I'm sure many of you say the same thing lol...I would play Snakes real Loud and sometimes real late at night at 3am after a gig in my car, "I'm in a band"...It took a very long time, It finally hit home! By that time, all the other albums have gotten out of my head...Really, I didn't listen to any others. Only one was VT, just to hear what all the people were complaining about and raving about Snakes. I liked VT! Then, I started getting hyped up for the concerts. 6/29, 7/2 and now 7/6 tomorrow! They play 9 songs off of Snakes. The wife is not musicically inclined at all, likes Billy Joel, which I do too, but also Elton, Aerosmith, Bryan Adams, get my drift? who are ok too. So, the melody is what hits home here for her. She went to the 7/2 concert and said the 2nd half was much better. I thought about it to come up with a reason. I said, maybe the lighting etc was not as good since the first half is during dusk in the "sheds". I honestly thought that they only did 5 songs, I then found out that they did 9 songs, and told her, I now realize that Rush is growing into a more viable entity in the world music, the whole world.. Not just playing noise, as many people hear and she calls it lol. But she felt the songs were just, much better, on the 2nd half of the show! Which they play 5 in a row from Snakes in the 2nd set and then Hope...I could go on and on. It is good to hear that someone that thinks that some of Rush songs are noise, are liking them so much more now. And I am someone who really eats sleeps and breaths Rush... A final note, Please, If you havn't seen Rush, you HAVE TO GO! They are really known for their Live shows and the songs just take on another identity!
Amazing.......2007-07-05
What amazes me about the new album from Rush is that they are going on nearly 35 years of being together and can still write & perform music in the manner that they do on _S&A_. After _Test for Echo_ in 1996, I feared that Rush had bottomed out. That album seemed like a band just going through the motions ("Half the World"), coasting on comfortable arrangements ("The Color or Right"), and just coming up with some bad ideas ("Virtuality," "Dog Years"). But in 2002, they released _Vapor Trails_ and made everything right again with hard-hitting, no nonsense rock mixed with great, insightful lyrics. _S&A_ expands upon the style they began on _VT_ by adding guitar solos (which were non-existent on _VT_), different sounds (mandola, mandolin, twelve-string acoustic/electric guitars, etc.), and a more lively production all around.
Songs like "Far Cry," "Working Them Angels," and "We Hold On," make the listener forget that this is the same band that did songs like "Tai Shan" and "Roll The Bones"--meaning, if those songs made you scratch your head and go, "This is Rush?"--you'll be pleasantly surprised to know that _S&A_, like _VT_, rocks harder than anything Rush has done since the 70s. Another cool aspect of the new album is the dark nature of it which harkens back to _2112_ and _Hemispheres_. "Spindrift" is a truly ominous song from the eerie opening to Geddy's vocal takes on lines like, "As the waves crash in on the western shore/it makes me feel uneasy/the spray that's torn away/is an image of the way I feel." Other highlights for me include "Bravest Face" and "Faithless" (with Ben Mink on strings), as well as "Good News First" and "The Larger Bowl." The only criticism I have is that sometimes songs go on a little bit too long and would've been more powerful if just tightened up a bit ("Armor & Sword", "The Way The Wind Blows"), but even with these arrangements, the songs have enough great stuff in them for the listener to enjoy. Lastly, Peart sprinkles his timeless, powerful lines throughout ("though we might have precious little, it's still precious"... "but i still cling to hope/and i believe in love/and that's faith enough for me"..."how many times do we chafe against the repetition/straining against a fate measured out in coffee breaks) so that the listener is always reminded that he's still 'hopeful yet discontent.'
If you loved _VT_ and saw it as a return to form, you're sure to like _S&A_. It takes a few listens to sink in, but once it does, you'll keep going back to it like all great Rush albums. If you didn't like _VT_ because of its *too* stripped down nature and cold production, _S&A_ offers more color to Rush's palate. This really is a powerful album and probably sits aside my other top Rush albums like _Hemispheres_, _Moving Pictures_, _Power Windows_, and _Presto_.

Living in the 80's again.......2007-07-13
This is a fabulous album of Journey's greatest hits and cannot figure out why I didn't have this album already, in my collection, because I like Steve's singing so much. When I heard it at the end of the Soprano's it brought back nice memories.
It's the Journey, not the destination.......2007-07-12
Once Steve Perry joined Journey for the "Infinity" album, the band's course was inevitably reset. They changed direction from being a progressive rock band to an arena rock juggernaut. Perry's main contribution was a strong melodic sense coupled to his more soulful vocals. The hits started almost immediately, as "Lights" and "Wheel In The Sky" became FM Rock Radio staples.
That is what this greatest hits focuses on, the songs that became the standards by which the public remembers the band. If you were interested in the albums BEFORE "Infinity," I suggest "Time 3," which adds material from the years when Neal Schon was still aping his jazz-Rock tenure with Santana and Gregg Rollie was doing standard rock keyboard boogie. Personally, I liked them better when Perry got on board. The sound focused and the songwriting tightened. Songs like "Separate Ways/Worlds Apart" and "Any Way You Want It" could add a jolt of adrenaline to a day of radio. When Jonathan Cain replaced Gregg Rollie on "Escape," Journey took on a romantic bent from Cain's songwriting. "Open Arms" came first, then "Faithfully" (on "Frontiers") solidified it. These were pop radio songs without peer, and they make Journey's "Greatest Hits" an essential document of 70's and 80's radio rock. (The updated version includes the best song from the 90's reunion "Trial by Fire," "When You Love A Woman.")
The other reason you might be looking at this is not because of Steve Perry's voice or Neal Schon's guitar heroics, but because of Tony and Carmella. It was Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" that echoed out of the final minutes of "The Sopranos" closing episode. It was funny that Tony passed over Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra for Journey and inspire a million parodies in the process. (Including Hilary Clinton...where the best moment is when she and President Bill Clinton are flipping through songs and Bill says "My money's on Smash Mouth...") Talk about cementing your place in pop culture...who could have asked for better?
This best of offers a pair of soundtrack rarities in "Only The Young" (from "Vision Quest") and "Ask The Lonely" (from "Two of a Kind"). Missing are a few crucial singles like "Suzanne," "Stone In Love" and "Walks Like A Lady." If you really want them, go for the box sets or individual CD's.
Complete.......2007-07-09
This is how you do a greatest hits collection. You put ALL of them on there. Not a mix of half greats, and half "other", then release the rest on another "greatest hits" CD.
Get the Infinity album too........2007-07-07
Unfortunately, it does not include my favorite song tandem Feeling That Way/ Anytime. For that you need to buy The Infinity album. It does include some great songs, a good mix of rockers and ballads. Definitely worth the price to anyone who loves classic rock and roll or was a teen in the late '70s. But do yourself a favor and get the Infinity album too.
The long Journey home.......2007-07-06
A must for any collection. Perry's voice is amazing. All the hits are in this CD, plus a couple you forgot

What does a wildly successful purveyor of `80s big hair power ballads do in an ensuing decade dominated by fervent shoe-gazing and other attendant alt.cliches? If you're Jon Bon Jovi, you scale back your band's ambitions, retool yourself as surprisingly accomplished indie film and TV actor, and (mostly) wait for the pop music tides to turn in your favor again. But JBJ and guitarist/collaborator Richie Sambora didn't let their band's lukewarm `90s fortunes dampen their knack for hook-savvy songcraft, as this muscular anthem-fest argues at virtually every turn. BJ's songs here may be as infectious as ever, yet they're seldom mere confections, often infused with alternating doses of bracing cynicism (the title track's sarcastic riposte to the '04 election) and reflective, often bittersweet takes on histories both personal and otherwise. If it sometimes stoops to formula--the droning, metallic ethos of the obligatory big ballad "I Am" can't overcome some equally perfunctory lyrics-it's also an album with its share of warm surprises, be they unexpected nods to Dylan ("Last Man Standing," the acoustic idealism of "Bells of Freedom"), the hard-edged "I Want to Live" or a winning duet with Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles, "Who Says You Can't Go Home." Bon Jovi may deliver a sonically burnished triumph here by largely going back to the future--yet does it with one ear crucially cocked towards the anxious energy of the recent past. -- Jerry McCulley

Their best stuff ever!!!! Great sound, awesome lyrics! Welcome to Wherever You Are - their best written song ever. I Am, I Want to be Loved, Have a Nice Day, Story of My Life, Bells of Freedom are excellent too! Giddy up!

"Now There's the Band - They really Play" Great album and Superb Concert. You guys ROCK!
Morph from Ork.......2007-06-17
Hints of a country band realized.....That said Bon Jovi brings you.....Lost Highway. There have always been overtures towards country music from JBJ from Wanted: Dead or Alive, to The Blaze of Glory soundtrack. You knew, however, that they would be followed up with a Bad Medicine or 99 In The Shade. It is becoming apparent, as they age, that they will rock less and croon more..... Sad but true. JBJ's Slippery When Wet voice abandoned him years ago. He's learned to pick his spots, like an aging fastball pitcher. But....he is from Jersey so...I like him....I'll just listen to SWW and NJ more! Keppin the Faith!
Good CD.......2007-06-10
First I must say that the last review is uncalled for. I guess you are just jealous about the Penguins AND Bon Jovi.
This cd is defiantly worth every penny! It's a must have for every Bon Jovi fan!
SUCKY BAND.......2007-06-09
I hate fricking Bon Jovi more then Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby combined. I would like to take a crane and give them a wedgie so huge in their tight leather purple pants that it rips their anuses in two.

Decent Start...but hopefully a better one will come along.......2007-07-10
As far as greatest hits by the band, this I believe is the first one of studio cuts anyway. I saw this one in the Spring in the top Ten at Amazon, and was wondering why all the sudden interest in Bon Jovi, of course they did just come out with a new CD, and the new stuff is pretty good, me myself recently got the Remasters of their first 3 or 4 Cd's, and I admit that "Keep The Faith" was the last one I bought...But I did get the big box set of rarities 100 Million fans can't be wrong, so they are indeed my major rock guilty pleasure.
Is there no "Essential" Bon Jovi yet?, didn't see one...I was hoping for a 2 CD set of their hits along with a few deeper album cuts by now not that I need that, just that it would seem it's time for that since they've been around for 20 plus years now. Hopefully it isn't far off, this band deserves a better career collection than this one, I can't imagine the casual fan wanting this lacking set, even the order is strange. Of course the hardcore Bon Jovi fan likes about every one of their songs, maybe only 4 or 5 from the first album, but even I like most of the songs on 7800 degrees, and an essential would have to have Tokyo Road and Silent Night on it or I would not buy it. As far as Slippery, New Jersey...every song on those should be essential, maybe one or two left off...and that they are not on the greatest hits as this is known, is a major flaw. I'm thinking the ultimate Bon Jovi greatest hits set would have to have at least 4 songs each from the first two CD's, and then maybe 5 or 6 from Slippery, New Jersey, and Keep The Faith? That would fill out 2 Cd's I think and make a nice collection; better than this one for sure.
Hopefully fans new and old will get a better restrospective soon, this one is a nice start I guess, but I would highly recommend checking out their remastered catalog for more hits. They don't have many duds at all at least on their first 4 or 5 Cd's. The late 90's one's I don't know, perhaps an essential collection would contain some newer songs...but classic Bon Jovi is good enough for now.
A great Bon Jovi collection.......2007-06-09
For the most part, this is a great Bon Jovi collection. I do not equally enjoy every song on this album, but this collection includes nearly all of their early hits.
Cross Road.......2007-06-09
I love this CD, it's awesome, the songs are the best. Especially "Always", "Bed of Roses" and "I'll be there for you"
Decent Beginner's Set.......2007-05-22
For people who only know Bon Jovi from their "Have A Nice Day" and beyond years, "Cross Road" is a very good collection of tunes for them to check out. It gives the listener a solid set of their most popular tunes from their hair band heyday before they got all earthy/Mellencampy. This album is by no means a complete gathering of their greatest tunes. It leaves out at least two songs ("Living In Sin" and "Born To Be My Baby") and instead fills those holes with the dismal "Prayer '94," the forgettable "Always" and the harbinger of things to come, "Someday I'll Be Saturday Night." "Someday" is actually a very good modern roots rocker, but people don't buy greatest hits albums for the new songs. People buy this album for songs like the original "Livin' on a Prayer," "Wanted Dead Or Alive," "Bad Medicine," and "I'll Be There For You."
Lesser known tunes from their earliest offerings(particularly "Runaway") signal the beginnings of a great band to come. Later songs such as "Keep The Faith" and "Bed Of Roses" reveal a band in rock decline and quickly headed for the adult contemporary sound. In short, "Crossroad" gives the listener a pretty good take on how a band from Jersey made it big, leveled off, then headed for the sweet and steady success of light rock. Just to shake things up a bit, "Blaze Of Glory" from Jon Bon Jovi's solo "Young Guns II" project is included. Sadly, we do not get a sample from any of Richie Sambora's solo works. He really is a much better guitarist than he's given credit for, and it would have been nice for one of his tunes to be included in this collection.
I grew up during Bon Jovi's prime, and am proud to say that I own original cassette copies of "Slippery When Wet" and "New Jersey." Although they weren't my favorite hair/glam/hard rock band (that was Def Leppard), they were still one of the best around at the time. Bon Jovi is no longer the band they once were, but for people who want to know where they came from, this is the album to pick up.
BON JOVI AT THEIR BEST!!!.......2007-02-17
Words cannot describe how awesome BON JOVI is!!! I am their #1 fan and no other group in this world produces such quality / entertaining / heartfelt music. I RECOMMEND YOU BUY HAVE A NICE DAY and ALL OF THEIR CDs!!!

Their best in 20 years.......2007-07-13
The Scorpions have joined Iron Maiden as 2 of the old groups to put forth a great effort on their latest release. I haven't been this impressed with a Scorpions cd since the mid to late 80's. Klaus' voice sounds incredible, and the lyrics and music are top notch. There is a reason why people are still buying this music, because todays rock bands have forgotten about the guitar as a fundamental instrument. If you're a fan of the Scorpions, you won't be disappointed.
Be Cool! Just Buy It........2007-07-12
I want to rate these songs objectively;
Humanity Hour : 4.5/5
The Game of Life : 4/5
We Were Born To Fly : 5/5
The Future Never Dies : 3/5
You're Loving Me To Death : 4/5
3-2-1 : 5/5
Love Will Keep Us Alive : 4/5
We Will Rise Again : 4/5
Your Last Song : 3/5
Love is War : 3/5
The Cross : 3.5/5
Humanity : 5/5
This is a GREAT album.......2007-07-11
This is the best Scorpions Album since Love Drive. I have been listening to the Scorps since they were "THE" underground band when I was in high school. So I go back to Virgin Killers and before. This Album is GREAT. To those talking about the Scorps losing their "sting" you can't expect 55 + year olds to write an album of anger like their old stuff. This album shows a mature group of successful musicians doing what they do best. That is writing songs with great melody and believe me, when they need to get heavy they do. I cannot stop listening to this opus. One song is catchier than the next. Klaus sounds unreal and Mathias lets it rip when he needs too..... Buy this CD as you will not be sorry.... ALBUM OF THE YEAR HANDS DOWN...... Desmond Child is a RICH Man for a reason..... The songs, playing and production are all top shelf.
Humanity-Hour 1.......2007-07-11
Scorpions did it again. Great CD, we can't stop listening to the songs, especially the song Humamity.
Reminds me of old!.......2007-07-11
I've always preferred the Uli Jon Roth 70s era Scorpions to anything that came after and you'd have to go all the way back to 1982's "Blackout" to find a Scorpions album that I thought had more good songs on it than bad.
But a friend was playing this in the car the recently and I have to admit I like it. Liked it enough to get a copy myself. And like it more every time I listen to it. It's even made me curious about some of the other stuff I've missed; now I'll have to look at the rest of their more recent material and give the ones with the highest reviews a listen.
Bottom line, if, like me, you gave up on the Scorpions when they became "Hair-metal", give this CD a listen, it's pretty darn good.

Also known as the "rune" album or Zoso because of the medieval symbols adorning the inner sleeve, Led Zeppelin's fourth album, released in 1971, turned them from mere superstars into giant behemoths of the rock world. On tracks like "Black Dog," "Misty Mountain Hop," and "Rock and Roll," the combination of Robert Plant's banshee wails and Jimmy Page's frenetic guitar playing forever altered the stylistic bent of hard rock music. And the foreboding "When the Levee Breaks" demonstrated that Zeppelin could indeed play the blues fairly straight if they so desired. Still, everything here ultimately took a back seat to the album's (and, ultimately, the band's) magnum opus--the expertly constructed and deftly executed classic, "Stairway to Heaven." --Billy Altman
Amazon.com
Jimmy Page was a top London studio guitarist before he got rich and famous as the musical leader of Led Zeppelin. The group's fourth--and arguably their finest--album is as much a tribute to his technique as a monument to his versatility. Page produced the album, co-wrote all eight songs, and played mandolin as well as all the guitars. Musically, this 1971 disc ranges from acoustic English folke ("Goin' to California" and "The Battle of Evermore," the latter featuring the late Fairport Convention frontwoman Sandy Denny) to bone-crushing, bluesy riff-slinging. On the album's centerpiece, "Stairway to Heaven," these light and dark strains are dramatically intertwined. The chiming "Four Sticks" aside, it's the Little Richard-inspired "Rock and Roll" and the tricky time changes--a Zeppelin trademark--of the fast-and-furious "Black Dog" that elevate this album into more than just a bustle in aspiring guitarists' hedgerows. --Don Waller
Customer Reviews:
The Essence of Rock and Roll.......2007-07-07
The original and definitive heavy metal band, Led Zeppelin made their mark in several other categories with their fourth album. The vocals of Robert Plant, guitar playing of Jimmy Page, and drumming of John Bonham are all the stuff of legend. John Paul Jones brings extra versatility and originality on bass, keyboard AND acoustic guitar. The songs:
Black Dog - blues-influenced (like a lot of earlier Zeppelin), loud and raunchy (in the best kind of way), some over-the-top vocal stylings
Rock And Roll - barn-burning blues and a great vehicle to show off one of the greatest rock drummers ever
The Battle Of Evermore - inventive art rock that proved that these guys were not only great rockers, but great artists as well
Stairway To Heaven - the definitive power ballad
Misty Mountain Hop - more barn-burning blues with monstrously huge guitar sounds and distinctive electric piano riff
Four Sticks - raucous art rock, using a crazy time signature and chord voicing that few bands other than Rush and Jethro Tull would dare to touch
Going To California - yes, they can do acoustic folk rock better than anyone else too
When The Levee Breaks - more rowdy blues, this time with some gritty harmonica to give it a different vibe
The production and engineering behind this album are the icing on the cake. Recording students are still studying and copying this stuff and trying to reproduce the "Bonham drum sound" to this day. The generous echoes and overdubs on Plant's vocals somehow never seem overdone or dated.
This is the amazing work of an amazing team of players and recording experts on their best days ever. Rock fans should be intimately familiar with this timeless and hugely influential CD.
brings back memories........2007-06-20
i know that a lot of people claim to have gone to the original woodstock concert, but i really did. and of all the great bands who played there, this was the best. i will never forget their great set. the lead singer and guitarist was a black man who played his guitar left-handed. the best song they played there was a great, great song about somebody named Purple Hayes, who could get into your mind. i think the title of the song was "Purple Hayes." unfortunately i have never been able to find that song on an album, but this album is great anyway. i just discovered it, and it is full of great songs. there is one song here called "Stairway to Heaven," which is about a stairway that goes up to Heaven. cool. and there is other neat stuff, too. get this record. you should. and if anyone knows what album "Purple Hayes" is on, please please please let me know.
ZOSO.......2007-06-12
This is the album that got me in to Zepp, and the first one I ever bought.
This ground breaking recording was Zepplin's #1 album, and if this would have been the only album they would released, I think they still would have had just as much of and impact on the world as they do now.
1. Black Dog- Strange name but awesome song, and one of the best riffs ever!!! 5/5
2. Rock And Roll- This song is exactilly what the name is; Rock And Roll. It's Zeppelin at their best, Jimmy Page's solo is simply amazing and fits with the song. Perfect riff, Perferct title, and a perfect solo make this song, well...perfect! 5/5
3. Battle of Evermore- It's always nice to slow it up a bit with some thing accustic, and "Battle Of Evermore" is that something accustic. This song really shows off Robert Plant's vocal range and fetures matiline. Bring it Back! 5/5
4. Stairway to Heaven- This is a song that needs no introduction, it's such a totamic peace of music, mainly because it is a constant climing song. It has some of the stragest lyrics of all time, and is known for having a backwards massage. Message or not it is still an amazing song, and Jimmy gives one of the best solos ever. 5/5
5. Misty Mountain Hop- This is the first Zeppelin song I ever heard and it still rocks. Greatest riff of all time? Maybe, but one thing that I know that everyone thinks at some point is, "What the hell is a Misty Mountain Hop?" The world may never know. 5/5
6. Four Sticks- This is a highly underratted song. It has tons of cool elements about it, Electric and accustic guitar parts, cool vocals, and great keyboard. Classic hard rock song. 5/5
7. Going To California- Another accustic song, nice and mellow. 4/5
8. When the Leeve Breaks- Best drum beat ever, provided by the one and only Bonzo. Heavy riff with some harmonica, great way to finish off a great album. 4.5/5
Led Zeppelin made their mark on the world with this one, legend- Chuck
Simply the Best.......2007-06-04
I would like to start this review by stating that this is, arguably, the greatest rock album ever recorded. I don't see how it has an overall 4.5 star rating and it's all of the idiotic 1-star reviews that bring it down. I'm not calling it the best rock album of all time because I'm giving in to the hype about it, because I'm not. I own it and have listened through it over a hundred times so I am more than familiar with it, along with the rest of Zeppelin's music. This is simply the most complete, diverse and distinctive album ever. Not only are Plant, Page, Jones and Bonham gods of their instruments but they are likewise with song writing. The songs range from funky rock and roll (Black Dog, Rock and Roll) to groovy melodies (Misty Mountain Hop) to the more melodic ballads (Battle of Evermore, Going to California) to the epic heavy hitters on the album, Stairway and When the Levee Breaks. These four guys have mastered blues-inspired rock and roll and play it like no other. Jimmy Page is equally masterful and brilliant with the electric and acoustic guitars and his melodies are some of the most unconventional, odd time-signatured yet captivating ever. This is the quintissential hard rock album and it seems like all other albums should be measured up against this one.
I give every single song on this album a 10/10 with the exception of Four Sticks, which I would give a 9.5. Albums can't really rate much higher.
These are the gods of rock and this is their masterpiece. No person who claims to listen to rock should be without it. Don't pay any attention to the 1-star reviews, or the 2- and 3- star reviews, for that matter. They are ridiculous and written solely out of rebellion. Let them listen to their Fallout Boys and Nirvanas and Panic at the Discos. This is real music.
I am someone who usually does not give in to fads and trends just for the sake of doing it, but Led Zeppelin IV is a trend that I can't help but follow. It's simply the best..
Soulful ,Passionate and Emotional Brilliance !.......2007-05-30
Masterpiece, Robert's singing seems more Emotional and Inspiring than opera !
Black Dog and Going to California are my particular favorites on this CD. Sung with his needy , yearning, whining soul !

Most critics complain Back in Black, the album AC/DC recorded after the death of their original lead screamer Bon Scott, is ridiculously juvenile, obvious, snickering, bludgeoning, derivative, single-minded about sex and booze, a big cartoon. All true, of course, and--on rock 'n' ragers like "What Do You Do For Money Honey," "You Shook Me All Night Long," and the title track--all great. As Scott's replacement Brian Johnson reminds us, loud and crunchy, no-holds-barred "rock and roll ain't noise pollution...it makes good, good sense." Never trust anyone who refuses to drink domestic beer, laugh at the Three Stooges, or crank Back in Black. --David Cantwell
Album Description
AC/DC's 1980 album digitally remastered and reissued in a special digipak plus a 16 page full color booklet containing all original album art, many unpublished photos, classic memorabilia and new 2003 liner notes. Epic.
Customer Reviews:
Simply put, THIS is rock and roll!.......2007-07-11
I can't really think of anything too specific to say about "Back in Black". One day, I bought the album, listened to it and had one of the biggest musical joyrides I can recall! Critics may despise AC/DC, but that's no reason to neglect this album! In fact, this qualifies not only as being one of the biggest-selling rock albums of all time, but one of the greatest. That being said, "Back in Black" is probably the first album people will think about whenever AC/DC is mentioned, and while they have a great selection in their catalogue, this is, no doubt, their finest hour.
From the guitar crunch of the Young brothers, from Malcolm's rock-solid rhythm playing to Angus's legendary riffs, licks and solos, this no doubt qualifies as a great guitar album. Then comes in the rhythm section of Cliff Williams on bass and Phil Rudd on drums, and while Phil Rudd may not have the same chops as John Bonham, Phil still makes his drums sound larger than life, which makes for a great cornerstone of the AC/DC groove. And then...Brian Johnson. Who would have thought after such a great lead singer as Bon Scott passed away, Brian Johnson would be able to fill in his role, and fill it in greatly, as well. His voice may take some getting used to, but he definitely sounds best on this album.
In addition, the remastering is excellent. The volume is up and there's no static or unneccesary noise that ruins the sound. After all, there's nothing as disappointing as hearing a great song like it was recorded a mile away! Anyway, this album is just flat-out excellent for those who dig such a sound. Ten songs at a little over forty minutes, and a cross between a hard-rock crunch and an old-school groove for each song, AC/DC did just about everything they could right on this album.
As a summary, this album will make you forget your problems, imagine these guys on stage at night in a big, sold-out arena, playing these rockers loudly and proudly, and, of course, prove to be a testament of time and rock and roll. And remember, take no pressure from the critics. Be your own person! Rock out and feel good about it! And remember, "rock and roll ain't noise pollution...it just makes good, good sense!" Peace!
One of the best CDs ever...REMASTERED.......2007-06-27
I owned an original copy of Back in Black and played it constantly. It's an ideal CD for road trips and just incredible rock from beginning to end. I didn't think anything could possibly improve it until I heard the remastered version. Suddenly the bass comes out more, the drums are even more in your face, the vocals are clearer, it just ROCKS even more. There are plenty of bad remasters out there of various classic albums, but thankfully, this is not one of them.
The rebirth of AC/DC .......2007-05-16
Hands down the best AC/DC CD. This is the cream of the crop, and it doesn't get any better than this. To this day, each song rocks loud and hard, and vocalist Brian Johnson was never better. A must for any hard rock collection, your ears will be bleeding.
It does'nt get much Better than this!!.......2007-05-11
Of course, In my humble opinion, this album is in my Top Ten of all-time. It rocks, it's bluesy, crushing, sneering and has that "I'm badder than you attitude." And it's just a lot of FUN. Really, what more could you want in a Rock album? Get your hands on this bad boy!!!
Back In Black again.......2007-04-12
This is one of the best albums of all time and if you don't believe me check any registered music critic's top 100 list and you'll see it there somewhere. Not only is it a fun album and one that brings constant memories of high school flooding back to me; it really is a very well put together record. Coming off the death of lead singer Bon Scott, the Young boys and their co-horts hopped onto the Brian Johnson wagon and headed into the studio. With the fists to the air and groin to the ground "You Shook Me All Night Long" this album was off and running all over the world. The sound on the remaster is excellant and so are the liner notes some of which make you really listen to the album. The mixture of old blues and hard rock is more evident than I originally had even thought of and just the hard rocking fun of the title track, the grinding "Rock & Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" and "Giving The Dog A Bone" is just plain exciting. If you haven't heard it in a while I highly suggest you throw that old cassette into the boom box and give it another go - or better yet get this remaster, I know you want it.

On the cover of Foreigner's newest collection, the letters that spell out Complete Greatest Hits are cut out from world currency. For example, there's an A from Antarctica, a T from Trinidad, an M from Mongolia, and so on. At least the drive behind this third greatest-hits compilation (fourth, if you count The Best of Foreigner Live) is clearly admitted. Still, if anyone deserves your money, an argument can be made for guitarist Mick Jones and singer Lou Gramm. They've been through it all, and along the way, they've written a slew of songs you know well enough to perform at karaoke (but never as well, admittedly--Lou has a hell of a voice). Whether you liked them when they rocked ("Cold as Ice," "Hot Blooded," "Juke Box Hero") or preferred the power ballads they were credited with inventing ("Waiting for a Girl Like You," "I Want to Know What Love Is"), this album makes it feel like the very first time again. --Laura Etling
Album Description
The complete greatest hits packs a single CD with 20 monster hit singles and airplay classics from 8 Foreigner albums released by Atlantic between 1977-1992. Includes radio staples 'Feels Like The First Time', 'Urgent', 'Waiting For A Girl Like You', 'Cold As Ice' and more! Remastered. 2002.
Customer Reviews:
Kind of Cheesy.......2007-07-04
I was just a so-so fan but thought that buying the collection might make me into an avid fan. Not so. The tunes are original and kind of catchy, but frankly the production quality is low. My 10 year old said, "What's wrong with the music?" because it just doesn't have the quality of current recordings. So I would stay away unless you are already a really big fan.
Solid Rock and Roll.......2007-07-03
Great compilation of Foreigner's stuff and just a great album to listen to. 1 1/4 hours of good rock. Even though it's pretty long, the listener has no trouble just putting it in the player and letting it go. No boring fill anywhere at all.
Fantastic Foreigner.......2007-05-25
This CD takes you back to the days of riding around in a car full of friends, circling the same old parking lots over and over looking for hot guys / gals and even hotter parties. Gotta love those early 80's...we were all HOT BLOODED!
Outstanding recording!.......2007-05-15
If you like Foreigner like I like Foreigner, than this collection is a must for you! The sound is clear, crisp and direct. The vocals are excellent and I find this CD enjoyable many times over. A great buy!

Slippery When Wet transformed Bon Jovi from minor-league poodle rockers to global superstars on the back of hit singles "You Give Love a Bad Name," "Never Say Goodbye," and, of course, "Living on a Prayer." From the scantily clad car-wash girls on the inner sleeve to the "You lost more than that in my back seat / Yeah!" lyrics, the album is blissfully untouched by irony and subtlety, which actually adds to its charm. With guitarist Richie Sambora and songwriter Desmond Child, Jon Bon Jovi has produced a slew of consistently memorable tunes, and this album contains its fair share of them. Slippery When Wet won't change your world, but it will, undoubtedly, rock it. --Ronita Dutta

Changed my life...seriously.......2007-05-10
Everyone has that one album that they can credit with changing the way they listened to music. Some are fortunate enough to have experienced this great awakening to Are You Experienced or The Doors. For others it was London Calling, Ramones, or even Black Sabbath. For me it was Slippery When Wet. That's right, Bon Jovi changed my life. I realize on some level that I should probably be embarrassed about that little fact, but the truth is I love this album every bit as much now as I did two decades ago.
I still remember like it was yesterday. I was 11 at the time, and didn't really care about music one way or another. I did however think that Transformers were quite awesome, but I digress. I was flipping channels and came across the video for Livin' on a Prayer. I wish I could accurately describe the impact that silly, you and me against the world love song had on me. It was like all of the tumblers of a combination lock sliding into place inside my head. I knew I had to hear more, but that wasn't going to be easy. My mama didn't dance and my daddy didn't rock & roll, so to speak, so I had to track down the cassette through a friend. If Livin' on a Prayer grabbed my interest, You Give Love a Bad Name and Wanted Dead or Alive sealed the deal. After that I moved on to Poison, Europe, Stryper, and dozens of other hairspray laden bands that I naively thought of as "metal", but Bon Jovi was the first.
I sometimes wonder if I would have reacted the same way to any other album. Somehow I doubt it. Bon Jovi was at the top of their game with this album. You could argue that their follow-up album New Jersey is the band's best, but I'll put the songs on Slippery When Wet up against that Bad Medicine stuff any day! With Slippery When Wet, Bon Jovi built on the sound they developed with their two previous efforts and added hitmakers like Desmond Child to take the songwriting to a whole new level. I can hear you snickering at the thought of You Give Love a Bad Name and Never Say Goodbye as examples of quality songwriting, but it's hard to argue with the results. I believe that the lessons Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora learned while recording this album are a big reason why they are still big stars to this day, when so many of their peers have been relegated to the bar & grill circuit.
Slippery When Wet was the perfect fusion of Bruce Springsteen's American rock & roll, Van Halen's party rock image, and an impeccable pop sensibility. It didn't hurt that Jon and the boys were easy on the eyes and could represent the new face of "metal" in a totally unthreatening way. I can't help but wonder how many other kids made their way to Iron Maiden and Metallica by first discovering a band like Bon Jovi.
Say what you will about this era or this style of music. I firmly believe that Slippery When Wet is a great example of rock & roll in the 80's, and it will always have a special place in my heart.
NOTE: Slippery When Wet was reissued in 1998 with digitally remastered sound. Serious collectors may also want to check out the import version with the original cover art that the band nixed, not because of the racy image, but because of the pink border. Go figure.
Bon Jovi Album- Slippery When Wet.......2007-05-09
I grew up in the 80's and this was one of my favorite bands. I recently purchased the remastered CD from Amazon. The CD arrived quickly and in good shape. I was very pleased with the service and the prompt delivery. The album is every bit as good as I remember from my youth. Now my son is hooked on Bon Jovi as well!
Bring back the high school memories.......2007-03-30
I had this on tape when it came out in the 80's and have been meaning to purchase it on CD for quite some time. This CD brings back so many high school memories.
cheesy hair music at its cheesiest.......2007-02-19
I loved this album. It came out when I was about 12. I guess that's the only time I could enjoy the album.
Bon Jovi seems incapable of writing lyrics that amount to anything other than a string of cliches.
This album can really only be appreciated by those of us who were young when it was popular.

Irresistable if you are a child of the 80's.......2007-07-12
I dare any fan of action cartoons from the 80's to not get chills running up and down their spine as they hear the opening bars of 'The Touch' by Stan Bush. This would have to be one of my favourite hard rock songs of all time and one that can instantly lift my mood no matter what.
Being more a fan of metal the tracks 'Instruments of Destruction' by NRG and 'Nothin's Gonna Stand in Our Way' by Spectre General are also stand out and it is hard not to be a fan of Kal Swan's soaring vocals on the Transformers Theme which is surely one of the best vocal tracks this guy has ever laid down.
Woven throughout these pumping rock tracks is the work of Vinnie DiCola, which is also able to transport you to various parts of the movie instantly with his talented compositions. I still get a bit misty eyed when I hear 'The Death Of Optimus Prime'.
Sheerly in terms of its nostalgic value this would have to be my favourite movie soundtrack of all time, without a doubt.
Forget the cheesy hair-rock, we get more VINCE!.......2007-07-08
Vince DiCola. What a mastermind in music. I'm a fan of rock music but the hair-ballads on here have lost their touch over time. However, Vince's incredible progressive sythesized soundtrack has stood the test of time with complete grace and style. As if the original soundtrack didn't get you going with the likes of Autobots vs. Decepticon battle music, Death of Optimus Prime, and the theme itself, 4 incredible new tracks by DiCola will have you whoop-hollering with joy.. Though the 4 tracks aren't "new", it's a real head-scratcher that none of these fabulous tracks were released until now. Whats even better is that Vince has his own version of the Transformers Theme on here, and it is very tight and melodic. This is by far the "perfect" Original Transformers Movie Soundtrack.
This IS the original Soundtrack.......2007-07-08
The original soundtrack from the ORIGINAL 80's animated movie. Please do not confuse this awesome soundtrack with the "eh" soundtrack from the new live-action film. This soundtrack is the epitome of 80's cartoons and rock fusing together to create that unique experience that us kids of the 80's had. The new movie is good and doesn't disappoint even die hard fans I know of, but this soundtrack (in comparison to the new soundtrack with the new theme song) from the original feature length film is really what it was all about. Hope all those who have not experienced it before can do so and enjoy themselves while they grab a bit of that 80's action cartoon nostalgia!
Not the soundtrack.......2007-07-07
This is a collection of hard rock stuff that was played briefly while the movie ran. This is NOT the soundtrack with all the dynamic sound and pulse raising music. I was so looking forward to getting this and driving the freeways. What a disapointment, don't buy this if your looking for the theme music. I've already thrown mine away.
Transformers Rock.......2007-06-28
This is a great CD with melodic rock songs and a cool score and the bonus tracks are great. You must get this if your a transfomer fan and a fan of 80's rock/metal and synthesized scores.
