3 out of 5 stars Slight Return...........2005-11-30

The first mix of this 3 CD Set is the one. It has more, variety, warmth and feels like a great set out at the clubs. Compared to Morillo's last Subliminal mixes this is a return to the quality mixes he used to make. However, the other two mixes start out good but quickly decend into the 'Dirty House' sound that Erick Morillo appears to be in love with at the moment. 'Dirty House' sounds to me a lot like old Prog House (Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia) - only darker and with a new genre name. Still it is a very dark, grinding, minimal sound that ultimately renders any lively mix dull. The first mix could have been a single CD release and would have gotten 4 stars, but with the other two wasted discs of this 3 CD set I can only give it 2 stars. Erick Morillo should really consider the concept of quality over quantity - his last 'My World' 3 CD set (including his solo album) was a total bust. All though, as far as mixes go in general, one good mix out of a chance three isn't all that bad - and certainly better than none - so for the one good mix this set is still worth the purchase.

5 out of 5 stars Sensational Funky House.......2005-11-05

If you are a fan of funky house music, you must get this 3CD (US Version) compilation. It is absolutely brilliant, I have been listening to it non-stop for days now.

I found CD1 to be a strong opener, but CD2 begins nicely with a modern, groovy remix of the old classic "Pump Up The Jam". Erick Morillo has an excellent ability to build the music at appropriate moments, hold the beat, crescendo, then kick the beat back in - this works extremely well several times on this compilation. CD2 also has an excellent remix of Ultra Nate's "Free", and ends strongly with the DJ Dero tracks.

CD3 is a killer cd. It's the best of the lot. Danny Tenaglia's opener is sensational, Deep Dish's well-known "Say Hello" is surprisingly inconspicuous here. The cd builds and builds up to Mylo's wonderful "In My Arms" mix, closing out very strongly.

Whether it be for gym, for dancing, for getting your Saturday night party started or for maintaining the groove with friends over, this 3cd set is not only excellent value, it's a MUST HAVE!

4 out of 5 stars Great!.......2006-02-11

I really liked it. CD 1 and 3 are what you would typically hear on CD, while CD 2 is more clubby in my opinion. All 3 have unique sounds and are very catchy in a great blend of house. The mixing is good and I don't feel the need to skip to a certain track. Just turn it on and let it roll. All 3 CDs get better toward the ends. CD 3 is probably the best.

1 out of 5 stars What?.......2005-11-24

First of all let me just say that Erick Morillo is excellent 'live'. His legendary sets at Space and Crobar are beyond comparison. However, he really dissapoints with this "played out" mix. The track selection is so old and played out...it makes me wonder if he is truly connected with what is happening in the scene.
If I hadn't heard him live then I would think that Morillo is washed up.
