Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars not THAT hypnotizing.......2000-04-11

As the last reviewer said: this may be the best cd from the Hypnotizing records, but that doesn't mean much.Don't get me wrong, this IS a pretty decent trance cd but that's it. Some tracks really get you moving and some are rather relaxing(that's the 2nd cd)but i just feel like there's not enough depth in there, sometimes the tracks get repetitive. I didn't want to come to comparison but Astral Projection,Hallucinogen,Juno Reactor and Shpongle all beat this cd to a pulp. All in all this compilation deserves some respect, just not too much.

5 out of 5 stars Hypnotizing Insanity!.......2000-02-03

Over the past eight years I've heard a lot of trance. Cleopatra and their Hypnotic label have truly done it this time! I'm sure a lot of trance fans would consider anything with the Hypnotic imprint on a CD on instant impulse buy! That is so true with Hypnotising: A Higher State of Goa and Trance. This 2CD set is probably the best trance collection ever from Hypnotic. Though personally I'd prefer there be more tracks from Reverse Pulse & Section. The 1st CD in the set starts off w/ Aerial Servant's "space sounding/disco" track which makes a great start for the rest of the trance tunes that follow. (Note: for those that have a class 5 hazardous reaction to hip-hop, the bonus track at the end of the 1st CD may run at warp speed to the CD player and press the stop button!) Personally I didn't care for the bonus track on the 1st CD, but after hearing the entire set well over a hundred times, I've gotten use to the sudden hip-hop sounds spewing fourth from the speakers following TB Factor's track. Latex Empire has two killer trance tracks on the 1st CD which pretty much makes them the mvp (along w/ Reverse Pulse w/ 2 of their own tracks on the 2nd CD)of the set. The 2nd CD is probably the best of the set. Hybrid gives a great intro, almost the same sound as Aerial Servant did on the 1st CD. Hybrid gives a faster speed with their intro though. What more can I say, Reverse Pulse and Section take the 2nd CD all the way. Hardcore Rave fans will probably enjoy the tracks from Midnight Rider and Tripomatic. Even though this 2CD Set is about 3 years old, it still holds its ground as the best Trance CD ever to be released by Hypnotic!
