Product Description
Psycho Les is best known to the rest of the Hip Hop World as one half of the legendary Beatnuts. On February 13th, Les offers listeners his first solo album called "Psycho Therapy", consisting of 18 tracks with Les on the microphone as well as the boards. Expect nothing but quality beats and rhymes as every track has that Beatnuts' sound to it with features from the one and only DJ Honda, Triple Seis, and Black Attack. Production on "Psycho Therapy" has all the elements that were involved with previous Beatnuts albums, including crazy samples, ear friendly horns, and drums to make any avid drummer go "whoa". Reggaeton fans will also be pleased as Big Psyche puts together a track with a Reggaeton/Hip Hop feel while rhyming in Spanish. Bottom line, "Psycho Therapy" is a must have for listeners that have been down since the Intoxicated Demons days, and for the rest, please pay close attention and pay homage to an MC/Producer that has been holding down Hip Hop since the late 80s.

For those with a love/hate relationship with the holidays.......2006-12-25
If you aren't quite ready to write off the holidays completely but are becoming a bit cynical about how the holidays are "celebrated" in a consumerism driven society, then you need this CD. Upbeat yet thought provoking
Different, Light, and Funny.......2004-11-30
The songs are original. The music is nice to listen to, and the lyrics don't require an FCC censor. One of the better make-fun-of-Xmas CD's
I must be missing something.......2004-11-11
I imagine everyone reading this will be clicking on the 'no' button after the 'was this review helpful?' question. I bought this CD with high expectations. I must have read all of the other reviews. I am an avid collector of holiday music of all types and I thought this would be, if not a sure winner, one that could provide a track or two to a holiday mix. Sorry to say that I wasn't that impressed with anything I heard and I haven't played it more than a few times. All of these 5 star reviewers can't be that wrong, so this must just not be my kind of humor.
Amusing look at Christmas.......2004-09-08
Like all comic albums, your appreciation of it will depend on your sense of humor but I suspect that most people will find plenty to enjoy here. Even the copyright warning is amusing, explaining that unauthorized duplication of this or any other recording produced by starving artists will result in you heading up Santa's naughty list. The sisters (Mary Reynolds and Marilyn Rucker) don't look as if they're starving but you already know from the warning that this is not a serious Christmas album although there is a serious message in some of the comic songs.
Among the comic songs are the title track (about a family who don't get on well together), Christmas in July (wishing for some goodwill in summer), Abraham's lament (about biblical characters looking at how they are celebrated), The twelve days of analysis (about psychiatric therapy), The sweet nutcracker (about a psychiatrist), Happy whatever you're having (season's greetings), Santa's got the blues (about Santa needing therapy), Listless Christmas (about what you want for Christmas), The littlest snowflake (tracing the progress of a snowflake from its arrival on the ground to melting in the sun), Pachelbel's tantrum (another song about a family Christmas), New year's resolutions (about resolutions that are broken) and my favorite, The war of the lights (about rivalry between neighbors).
Apart from the comic songs, there are three others - It must be Christmas (a love song), Christmas boogie and Christmas polka.
If you want music to laugh at during the festive period, this may be just what you're looking for.
I wouldn't go through the holidays without it.......2001-12-04
The other reviewers are right--this album is so good I am buying another one to give as a gift. These women are funny without ever sinking to sick humor. They gently poke fun at everything from disfunctional families to over-spending. There's even a wonderful romantic song, It Must Be Christmas, that you can play for or sing to your sweetheart.
Thank you, Therapy Sisters, for this wonderful gift.

The best of what the Therapy Sisters offer is here........1999-09-18
The Early Years is a good overview of the Therapy Sisters' work for those who are new to the group. Longtime fans will enjoy reminiscing. The music and harmonies are complex enough to be interesting but not distracting from the real strength of this band, the lyrics. These women have a real gift for capturing the human experience from the whimsical to the deep angst and joy of life.

SO MUCH THERAPY FOR SO FEW BUCKS...!!!.......2002-02-16
How can you pass up hourly rates like this?? They don't come any funnier -- or more sincere, compassionate, or topical than Austin's most beloved practitioners of musical mental health. Lisa Rogers and Maurine McLean are incredibly creative -- both musically and lyrically. I have never seen them perform when there wasn't a roomful of smiles at the end of the evening. Touching upon items in the news, the state of the world, realtions between family members, and the basic need for love and dignity among humans, their songs elicit gentle smiles, tears, belly laughs and genuine epiphanies. No human need is left out -- and no public figure is safe from their gaze.
The songs on this, their latest recording, are all first-rate -- as is the case with all of their audio offerings. 'Work like you don't need the money' could be their anthem -- if they didn't have so many other intelligent, heartfelt songs that also fit the bill. Another standout here is Lisa Rogers' 'I need a stalker' -- recipient of a 1st-place songwriting award at the South Florida Folk Festival.
Great songs for grey OR sunny days -- we can all use therapy like this as often as we can get it. Remember -- with plenty of Therapy Siisters cds in your collection, the doctors are always 'in'. [And for those of you who prefer 'group therapy' -- keep an eye out for this talented duo appearing in your town. They're not to be missed!]
