        5 out of 5 stars A Lil' Pre-Remix Album Going On!.......2002-03-09

This is a Destiny's Child maxi single with all of their top hits from their "Survivor" album, except their remixed.

        Track Listing:

1.) Emotion (The Neptune Main Mix)= This remix to the track has newly recorded vocals to go with its uptempo beat, this remix is off the hook.

2.) Bootylicious (Rockwilder Remix)= This remix also features newly recorded vocals to go along with it smooth sexy beat.

3.) Survivor (Jameson Full Vocal Remix)= This remix doesn't feature newly recorded vocals but it does live up to its title. This is by far my favorite remix of 'survivor' yet, and it would go great on the dance floor.

4.) Bootylicious (Rockwilder Remix Video Version)= If you havn't seen the remix video to Bootylicious then here is your chance, so check it out.

Check this disc out if you want to hear a preview to their remix album.

        4 out of 5 stars Pure Class.......2002-10-09

I used to think Destiny's Child were the most annoying group ever. Just another r+b female group cranking out forgettable songs. But when I heard this song Emotion, WOW, I totally gained a new found respect for them. This song is so beautiful, they sing it beautifully...the whole thing just has CLASS written all over it. Good job ladies. Oh yeah, I also have to admit that I also like Bootylicious as well :P

3 out of 5 stars Not Terrible, but Where is the SOUL?.......2002-07-16

Beyonce and Co. revive the Bee Gees tune, and it overall works. But no matter how well these ladies sing it, you can't help but notice the dearth of soul in this single. Where is the Destiny's Child that sang such great songs like "Say My Name?" Now, they have neutered the soul in their music, and it becomes evident in this single and much of the "Survivor" album. Not a disaster, but I wanted more.

5 out of 5 stars In the Words of a Broken Heart...........2001-11-01

Destiny's Child blew me away with this sensational single. The video, with its brilliant split-screen effect, following all three girls individually, has been one of my favorites so far this year. The song is so beautiful, sweet, and sorrowful all at the same time.

Once made famous by 70s disco icons The Bee Gees in a duet with the lovely Samantha Sang, Destiny's Child compeletely changes the tempo to a slower song, more heartfelt and sincere.

The track also offers a great deal of variety with breathtaking vocals from currently golden-haired diva Beyoncé Knowles as well as the humble but gorgeous Michelle Williams. Kelly Rowland has a surprising amount of lead vocals near the beginning, also.

This single includes the hip/hop mix featuring Missy Elliot (also available on the Carmen soundtrack), two dance mixes and another somewhat mediocre mix. Living near Australia, we have very easy access to these singles, however, I pay even more for them in stores. This is an exceptional single at a very reasonable price. Don't hesitate to buy.

4 out of 5 stars Nice one, Destiny!.......2001-10-12

The first time I heard this song I thought it was pretty cool.
It's got a really soulful vibe to it, though not as up-tempo as their previous hits like "Bootylicious", "Survivor" and "Independent Women".
Me - I don't usually like slow songs, but Kelly, Michelle and Beyonce have great voices - so any song they make will be a hit.
I garuntee you that ANYTHING you buy by Destiny's Child is well worth your money, so go out there and get their album, "Survivor" NOW!!

              Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars This got it started for me..........2003-01-16

...my infatuation with TPE, that is. This record kicks ... from start to finish. I saw the video for 'Big Decision' on 120 Minutes and ran out and bought it the next day. I've never regretted that decision, to say the least. Usually, I wonder why bands this great never got the recognition they deserved, but it was the 80's, and alternative music meant ALTERNATIVE music. Classic twin guitar fueled rock anthems with wonderful grooves (check out Creeping To The Cross, Belly Bugs, Swamp, etc.). This record has a very dark feel to it to me. Buy everything from this band! If you prefer a little more mainstream, "pop" sound (boy has that word been highjacked in the last few years), try Chemicrazy.

              5 out of 5 stars Hidden Treasure.......2003-01-06

This album is one of the forgotten classics. Every song is a winner and the album flows beautifully from one song to another until it reaches a climax with the irreverant "Creeping To The Cross". A brillinat closer. Don't be put off by the politics remarks. The politics on this album are smart and personally stated so everyone can relate to them. The music rocks out all the way through with an underlying beauty that will keep you coming back for more. Not to be missed by any true music fan.

4 out of 5 stars Pop, politics and a touch of Beefheart for flavor.......2001-12-11

Rolling Stone called them The Clash mixed with Creedence? I would say more like The Clash mixed with XTC. Both TPE and XTC appeared on Fast and Bulbous: A Tribute to Captain Beefheart, and in their own music, they both used similarly strange tunings and atonal (pantonal?) riffs to give an edge to what might otherwise be sugary pop.

It was the politics, though, that appealed to me back when The Clash and Midnight Oil were among my favorite bands. These guys were angry and smart, and a very good live band. "Belly Bugs" is one of my favorites off this album. I think it's time to replace my cassette...

              5 out of 5 stars A Neglected Eighties Classic.......2001-02-24

This is the best album by a brilliant Eighties band who nobody ever seems to have heard of. Great lyrics, great guitars and some really great tunes.
