        and The Remote Viewer have sent us a message from the year 3000. A must for fans of Autechre. Seemingly simple, eclectic electronic compositions with as much heart and soul as music from a bygone era--what did they call Classical Music when it was first being conceived and performed? I'm not really sure, but I suspect bands like The Remote Viewer and Autechre in the future will have a moniker such as "Neo-classical" or "Electromantic."

        The Remote Viewer recently contributed to the track "Sine Wave" on Mogwai's latest release, "Rock Action," and were long-time collaborators with Hood. They have been remixed by The Third Eye Foundation, and returned the favor superbly.

        Buy this album and I swear, by the last track- my favorite- you'll thank me (cash is nice, but I won't frown at something from my wish list).

        To anyone familiar with Autechre or To Rococo Rot, "The Remote Viewer" will sound familiar. The drab description of this album might be a meld of minimal tunes with severe rhythms that stutter, click, and pop.

        Don't get the misimpression that this is unlistenable Merzbow-ish noise, though; the percussive noises are riveting in their complexity, and the instrumentation is almost invariably warm, with beautiful melodies weaving through the harsh rhythmic backdrop.

        The phrase "instant classic" sees far too much use, but I am quite certain that this is a giant and lovely work that will stand many, many repeated listens. I believe that this is a first release by The Remote Viewer, which makes it all the more amazing.
