Album Description
As we explore the depths of our "self", our "souls", through massage, relaxation, and other healing modalities, we gain experience and knowingness. The music from Detaching The World Vol. 1 is a transient, which allows for this knowingness to occur in a peaceful, tranquil, and comforting environment.
This CD has been created to provide over 60 minutes in running time without the use of vocals or percussion. Emil Gagliardi has introduced a new style of guitar called "The Nuit's Effect" named after its rich soothing textures and deep earthy tones. From the opening cut of "Tranquil Sunrise", Gagliardi's swirling guitar immediately sets the perfect mood for massage and relaxation. The density of "The Valley Beyond" swallows you up in a tapestry of color similar to a warm blanket while the hauntingly beautiful "Fallen Angel" resembles a fresh new day after a storm.
Gagliardi's vision of creating the perfect massage and relaxation music sets Detaching The World (Vol. 1) apart from all others. Its purpose is to serve gentleness and ease like the inhalation and exhalation of the breath.

Detaching the World Vol 1.......2007-06-27
I purchased this CD based on the reviews alone,In comparison to other meditation Cd's I own; this CD ranks far below. The music is in my opinion anything but relaxing. Not suitable for meditation.
Promising Debut by Ambient Guitarist Emil Gagliardi.......2007-05-23
Although guitarist Emil Gagliardi's debut CD was designed for massage, meditation, and relaxation, it is much more than that. The ambient release features soothing, New Age-style synthesizer sounds generated entirely by Emil's electric guitar. The result is not only a great therapeutic tool, but also a legitimate work of sonic art in the vein of Andy Summers' classic ambient guitar album, Mysterious Barricades. Emil Gagliardi is a guitarist to keep an eye out for. [...]
Relaxing Music.......2007-02-20
I have other "relaxing" CDs that really don't do the job. This one does. I actually bought it to listen to while I had some dental work done and it was very helpful!

Album Description
In the second installment of the series, Connecting The Universe Music has released a new relaxing journey with Detaching The World Vol. 2 - Ambient music for massage/relaxation/meditation. Through exploration of the unconscious, this music was designed as an offering by the artist to bring about complete relaxation to the listener. It allows for the unknown self to awaken and remember with comfort and ease.
Musician and creator Emil Gagliardi brings to us nine new tracks with Vol. 2. This CD provides over 63 minutes in running time without the use of vocals or percussion. As the opening track "Peaceful Country" begins, Gagliardi's unique and inimitable style of ambient guitar immediately sets the tone for a tranquil relaxing atmosphere. On "Mirror", you feel yourself sinking deeper into the gentle hands of what the artist calls "The Nuit's Effect" while "The Fellowship" and "The Fellowship Reprise" are a meditation of three soothingly calm guitars journeying to the mystical unknown. "Hawaiian Compressions" is a three piece composition symbolizing the warming atmosphere of the sun while gently slipping into the earthy picturesque tones of "Healing Within". The last track, "Pulse", is the capture of a meditation right outside the artist's home where the ocean, mountains, and sky share one relaxed and rejuvenated heartbeat.
Emil Gagliardi continues to provide seekers of total relaxation with his unique and one of a kind style of music. As heard in the bestselling Detaching The World Vol. 1, his devotion to creating serene music for the healing arts goes unsurpassed by his peers. His music bestows upon the listener gentleness and ease like the inhalation and exhalation of the breath.

Ambient Guitarist Emil Gagliardi Dazzles on Second Album.......2007-05-23
Emil Gagliardi shows what he's made of in this spectacular follow-up. Laying down atmospheric riffs and hypnotic patterns against a backdrop of lush guitar-generated textures, Gagliardi creates canyons of sound that seem to come from the heavens and reverberate across a vast stretch of land beneath a starry expanse of sky. Combining the guitar stylings of Andy Summers, Robert Fripp, Allan Holdsworth, and even George Harrison, Gagliardi forges a unique and unparalleled style all his own. [...]

serene ambient guitar to help aid a stressful mind.......2004-10-27
Lately I've been submerging myself in yoga, morning meditation, T'ai Chi, and massage therapy to help my mind, body and spirit cope with the loss of a loved one. My sister (who raves about this artist) gave me this cd on my birthday in hopes that it would aid through the grieving process and help me relax.
Soon after my birthday, I finally had an afternoon to do nothing but try and unwind. I took my portable cd player outside with this cd and lied in my hammock. A few minutes after hitting play, I closed my eyes and had the most intense visualizations. It was as if each note from this music embraced my soul and projected a movie of warmth and comfort in my eyelids.
A few hours went by as I lay in my hammock listening to this cd repeat over and over. The calming effects of this music, combined with the hammock, had relaxed me beyond words. It was as if the stress detached my world (no pun intended).
As I look through the liner notes, I notice that this entire cd was created with guitars. Never in my life have I heard guitar sound so angelic and peaceful. All of this cd is great, yet the piece of music that comforts my heart the most is Pulse. Pulse has a calm heartbeat sound with this airy guitar melody that dances gently through the notes. Absoulutly beautiful!
I am bringing this cd to my next massage appointment in hopes that my therapist too will feel the heavenly ambiance that this music provides.
My client's favorite pick for bodywork!.......2004-06-06
Just got volume 2. Delicious! What an encore. Nicely divergent from Volume 1. It seems to be more 'grounded' than the prior work but still retaining the flavors of space. You can tell this artist respects the delicate atmosphere needed for massage. This cd is successful with a client who is beyond picky with his musical choices during our sessions. Muchas gracias!
the most creative musical journey.......2003-12-15
Having had so many incredible experiences listening and working with Detaching The World Vol. 1, I purchased Vol. 2 without hesitation. Although different from the first CD, the musicians style of meditative guitar transforms me and resonates with me similiar to Vol. 1. It seems as if the music puts me in a trance sending me to another place - a place where everything is calm and nothing can go wrong. My thoughts disappear and I capture the importance of being in every moment. This CD is mellow enough for deep relaxation yet also great music to play in the car on a long roadtrip. Either way it is definitely a journey that everyone should experience. I also find it important to listen from beginning to end without stopping - each track almost leads you to the next. It's as if a story is formed in track 1 that sends you wanting to know more in track 2. This continues until the "grand finale" which is a "heartbeat"-like song - sending you immediataly inward on your own journey. This is a beautiful CD.

What's most astonishing about Woody Guthrie is the way he created a whole, complete, living world of song. People, places, great and small events, nature, poetry, visions: He was so much more than a working class spokesperson, though, as this collection shows, he was the greatest one America has known. This first volume in the historic reissues of Guthrie's Smithsonian recordings is one of the finest: Guthrie's voice and verbal brilliance were at their peak in the 1940s and songs like "Do-Re-Mi," "Jesse James," and "Jesus Christ" continue to influence songwriters a half-century later. --Roy Francis Kasten
Album Description
The first in a series of four, this recording presents many of Woody Guthrie's best known songs taken from the original masters. Included here is the original version of Woody's anthem "This Land Is Your Land," which contains never-before issued lyrics. A major force in the urban folk song revival, Guthrie created an intimate portrait of America - its land and people. He has influenced many contemporary artists, among them Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Billy Bragg, and Bruce Springsteen. During the 1930s and 40s, Woody Guthrie wrote more than a thousand songs, recording hundreds of them for Folkways founder Moses Asch. The surviving masters now reside in the Folkways archive at the Smithsonian Institution. Running time: 72 minutes; 36-page booklet includes historical and biographical notes on Woody Guthrie. Compiled by Jeff Place and Guy Logsdon. "The single finest Guthrie Collection Available." --Music Central
Customer Reviews:
best single CD of Woody there is.......2007-03-23
This CD, in my opinion, represents the most cutting protest songs Guthrie wrote and performed. "This Land Is Your Land," included here with the extremely rare extra verse version, presents the song as he wrote it--a searing stab at the caste system, buried beneath the beauty of America's plains and mountains. Heard in this light, the song to me is no longer the light-hearted children's song we learned in grade school--it is a frightening message delivered via Guthrie's razor-sharp wit. The song sounds stark, forbidden, stifled.
This album is the beginning of it all. The recording quality is dubious at times, and Guthrie's plaintative singing and guitar playing only add to the ambience. These songs aren't easy to listen to, but this CD is an essential component of any collection, ranking with the Sun recordings in historical importance.
A true legend.......2007-01-18
What can be said about Woody Guthrie that has not already been said, and probably better than I possibly could.
All I can hope to do is add my voice to others in praising a wonderful singer / songwriter / activist / human being, who was very much a concience for his day and for ours.
I was so pleased to learn that his series of Asch Recodings are available today on CD. His music is collected in the Smithsonian Institute,
Washington - and deservedly so. I love his easy style, it's like he is sitting with you round the fire just strumming and singing out his wonderful mesages. The messages are truly timeless.
He, Pete Seeger, The Weavers, Leadbelly, and others influenced a whole generation of folk - Dylan, Baez, and many others. Please keep them available Amazon. They are still important and relevant.
One Great immortal song.......2006-08-04
Music is like art. What appeals to one might not another. In this case I wanted his recording of This Land is Your Land which was resurrected during the last presidential campaign by JibJab. If you haven't heard their rendition, it's a must. As far as the rest of Woodie's songs I thought they were OK but nothing great.

A POPULIST SINGER FOR THE AGES.......2006-04-02
This review is being used to describe several of Woody Guthrie's recordings. Although I have listened to most of his songs and recordings these represent those that best represent his life's work.
My musical tastes were formed, as were many of those of the generation of 1968, by `Rock and Roll' music exemplified by the Rolling Stones and Beatles and by the blues revival, both Delta and Chicago style. However, those forms as much as they gave pleasure were only marginally political at best. In short, these were entertainers performing material that spoke to us. In the most general sense that is all one should expect of a performer. Thus, for the most part that music need not be reviewed here. Those who thought that a new musical sensibility laid the foundations for a cultural or political revolution have long ago been proven wrong.
That said, in the early 1960's there nevertheless was another form of musical sensibility that was directly tied to radical political expression- the folk revival. This entailed a search for roots and relevancy in musical expression. While not all forms of folk music lent themselves to radical politics it is hard to see the 1960's cultural rebellion without giving a nod to such figures as Dave Van Ronk, the early Bob Dylan, Utah Phillips, Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie and others. Whatever entertainment value these performers provided they also spoke to and prodded our political development. They did have a message and an agenda and we responded as such. That these musicians' respective agendas proved inadequate and/or short-lived does not negate their affect on the times.
As I have noted in my review of Dave Van Ronk's work when I first heard folk music in my youth I felt unsure about whether I liked it or not. As least against my strong feelings about the Rolling Stones and my favorite blues artist such as Howling Wolf and Elmore James. Then on some late night radio folk show here in Boston I heard Dave Van Ronk singing `Come All You Fair and Tender Ladies' and that was it. From that time to the present folk music has been a staple of my musical tastes. From there I expanded my play list of folk artists with a political message.
Although I had probably heard Woody's `This Land is Your Land' at some earlier point I actually learned about his music secondhand from early Bob Dylan covers of his work. While his influence has had its ebbs and flows since that time each succeeding generation of folk singers still seems to be drawn to his simple, honest tunes about the outlaws, outcasts and the forgotten people that made this country, for good or evil what it is today. Since Woody did not have a particularly good voice nor was he an exceptional guitar player the message delivered by his songs is his real legacy.
Woody's relationship with the American Communist Party while no secret is not widely known. Even Bob Dylan, a worshipper of Woody's in his youth, was not aware of it. What is interesting is that the subjects of his songs fairly closely reflect the party line as it changed to reflect the winds blowing from Moscow. Woody's best work is reflected in the Popular Front style of ` This Land is Your Land' when the party developed its class collaborationist policy with the Rooseveltian Democratic Party and accordingly all liberals were good fellows and true. The Hitler-Stalin Pact was not good news for his style. Political differences between us aside, listen to his recordings and learn about hard times and struggle.
Woody Guthrie... Start here..........2005-10-02
Woody Guthrie has become an indelible part of 20th century American history. Many probably romanticize his story well beyond the realities of his life, but Guthrie's influence remains strong and unyielding. Many also know of the mesmerizing effect Guthrie's music had on the young Bob Dylan (see Dylan's "Chronicles, Vol 1"). Others soon jumped on the wagon, and Guthrie ended up speaking to subsequent generations long after his death in 1967.
Guthrie sang folk songs. Some he wrote himself, some he borrowed from others. Doing this today would result in heavy brickbat throwing along with accusations of "rip off!" But in Guthrie's day folk music meant borrowing. Times have changed. Long before constrictive copyright laws and the bizarre idea that artists must possess 100% originality to have relevance songs roamed the land in many forms. Folk songs came with a collective license (somewhat similar to today's Open Source software movement). It was not unusual for a singer to take another singer's music and put it to his or her own use. Guthrie did this. In fact, even Bob Dylan did this here and there on some of his earliest albums and in his Gaslight shows. That was folk music then. So some of the melodies on this CD may turn up on other folk singer's albums of the day. But that's okay.
Nonetheless, Guthrie was a songwriter of startling orginality. His lyrics alone comprise one of the most impressive collections in popular music history. Their themes and subjects trace back to the themes of early American folk music. Guthrie sat comfortably in this tradition. But Guthrie stuck mostly to his times, and he absorbed the times and the people, especially the disenfranchised, and the legends of his own time. He wrote about the down and out, about scandals, about tragedies, and human nature.
This CD showcases Guthrie's amazing versatilty and range as a folk singer. Many of the recordings date from the 1940s (though for sme no recording date exists). Three versions of Guthrie's most famous song, "This Land is Your Land" sit between some two dozen of Guthrie's best and well known songs. The second version includes the "Private Property" lyrics (they weren't included in the original release of the song and they rarely get sung in contemporary performance). There are also songs for children ("Car Song", "Why, O Why?"), songs about World War II, Hitler, Charles Lindbergh (particularly his infamous visit to Hitler and the "America First" organization), the Spanish Civil War ("Jarama Valley"), American landmarks and landscapes ("Grand Coulee Dam", "New York Town", "Pastures of Plenty"), working (the hilarious "Talking Hard Work"), legends ("Jesse James"), lonliness ("Hobo's Lullaby", "I Ain't Got Nobody", "Hard, Ain't it Hard"), tragedies (specifically sunken ships; "When That Great Ship Went Down", "Sinking of the Reuben James"), and even Jesus Christ. Nothing from Guthrie's time seems out of his scope.
Guthrie's voice may not appeal to everyone. But it contains a drawl and an accent that speaks directly to the themes he sings about. Guthrie would not have "worked" as a swooning crooning nightingale (a similar argument stands for Bob Dylan's voice). His voice contains grit, experience, and unpolished raw personality. These aren't Broadway songs and Guthie was no Broadway singer. His songs spoke to the average person (and also to the Smithsonian Institution's Moses Asch who recorded these tracks).
Guthrie told it as it was. The song "Why, Oh Why?" says it best. In response to the impossible questions the song poses, Guthrie sings simply "Because, because, because, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye." Things are the way they are, but work and songs can act as a vehicle for change. Guthrie stands as a symbol of the meaning music can have for a person, a country, and a world.

Marvellous!.......2005-11-26
I don't play violin, and I can't even read music, but as a classical music amateur I find this CD outstanding. Even an incompetent like myself can easily understand why Perlman is regarded as one of the greates violinists ever. This is a marvellous collection of pieces. The rendition of "Chanson Russe" by itself is, in my opinion, worth more than the price of the CD. If you listen to the audio samples on Amazon's pages and you like violin you will surely understand why I like this CD so much. I am grateful to People like Perlman, who make this world a better place to live in.
The best violinist ever!.......2001-01-26
All I can say to this CD is it's the best I've ever heard. In this CD, Itzhak Perlman truly demonstrates his best performances of the past years. I have always been a great admirer of Perlman, but since I own this CD, it's all I've listened to for the past three months. I myself play the violin and Perlman has become an inspiration to me, almost a musical idol. For any of those violinists out there, especially young musicians, who don't feel any excitement about playing the violin, listen to this CD and I promise you, you will strive to being able to play like this man does. He is truly the best musician I've ever known.

A delightfully buoyant, mock-creepy collection of film scores from Hollywood's first and best call for quirk, strangeness, and charm. Focusing on Elfman's post-1992 work (much of it for director Tim Burton), this 2 CD set features excerpts from Edward Scissorhands, To Die For, and Batman Returns, among other lesser items. -- Jeff Bateman

Priceless, at any price.......2007-07-06
Years ago, watching peter Jennings cover the funeral procession of Princess Diana, my soul was captured by some hauntingly beautiful music that at times played in the background. So began my mission to find out what it was, who wrote it and how I could get it. After some correspondence with the network I was put in touch with the woman who "put together" that part of the programming. All she could remember is that it came from the movie "Black Beauty". THEN I found out how many versions of that had been made lol. With determination, I finally found it, and had a local music store order it for me.
There are no words to describe what this music does to me. I did try listening to some of the other tracks, but they didn't even come close. I rate this music right up there with the 1971 score for "Jane Eyre" by John Willams... and that's pretty high :D
Good overview.......2007-04-18
Very nice overview of Elfman work. Insufficient by itself but worth having along with the full soundtracks. Bonus disc is a nice extra.
Great Music!!!!!!!!!.......2005-09-08
I Love Danny Elfman's music so much that I have started my own collection of the soundtracks that he composed. For a while, I was trying to find the "Beetlejuice" theme song from the TV show, but thanks to this release, I finally have it!!! Keep up the good work Elfman!
Very nice for a Danny Elfman collection.......2005-08-02
Music For A Darkened Theater, Vol.2 is a great cd!!! I love all of the tracks on both cd's,but my fav. ones are the t.v. scores and the This Is Halloween demo!!! If you love this, then i recomend looking at all the actually albums on this cd and his other works!!!! good job,Danny Elfman.
Bring on Volume 3.......2005-05-04
The liner notes and "This is Halloween Demo" on this compilation are well worth the CD price by themselves. Danny comments on each of the tracks on the CDs which is a rare and ego-free look at what a composer thinks of his own work.
Edward Scissorhands is magical, Black Beauty is a rollercoaster of emotion, and Dolores Claiborne makes me want to find the nearest piano. This is not a "Most Popular" compilation, rather it aptly showcases Danny Elfman's (and Orchestrator, Steve Bartek's) brilliance and wide range of style.
Every suite has an Elfman signature, such as the layered complexity which never sounds overdone, or the use of a choir as an instrument.
This (and Volume 1) are examples of the work of a modern day composer who consistently stands out as one of the best.
If you like this and have the spare cash, grab the individual scores from some of the movies he has worked on, including "Men In Black", "Spiderman", "Batman", "Batman Returns", "Nightmare Before Christmas", "Edward Scissorhands", "Mars Attacks" and so many more.

I picked up this CD simply because it was at the front counter of the store and was only a couple bucks and I recognized a few of the artists. I am very glad I did. In fact, after a few listens, I found the first song, "Daniel Lee" was sticking in my head, but in a good way. None of the songs will make you hit the skip button.

Customer Reviews:
Finally, Jean Terrell and the 70's Supremes get their due!.......2007-06-27
What took so long? The Supremes in the 1970's, Mary wilson, Cindy Birdsong and the incomparable Jean Terrell, recorded some of the most beautiful music the group ever had since the departure of Diana Ross. The packaging is simply SUPREME, worth every penny. I think the only reason The Supremes of the 70's were brushed aside by Gordy and Motown is because they were to busy promoting Gordy's girlfriend solo career, Miss Diana Ross, so the Supremes and many other great artists of that time were completely ignored. What a shame! There is so much great music here, you won't be dissapointed.
AMAZING COLLECTION.......2007-05-31
Being a huge Motown fan, I came across this CD by accident and ordered it.
Not only is the packaging beautiful but this is a great compilation of The Supremes, post Diana Ross, including many lesser known songs. For those who think that the only Supremes songs worth listening to are those that feature Diana singing lead, this would be both an education and a surprise. Of course Diana was fantastic, but The Supremes did, indeed, have a life after her departure. The hits are represented as well, but the inspired sequencing never allows this set to sound "tired". Though a bit expensive, I would highly recommend this great CD set to anyone with a taste for these heroes of the Motown years.
Supremes Are Good Without Diana Ross!!!!.......2007-05-22
This is a great boxset of the Supreme recordings after Diana Ross left. It contains the five albums made after Diana, and they sound pretty good in some spots, average in others, and many songs suffer from bad writing. it has been said before that they were not supported well after Ross left and this boxset shows it. The vocals are great and the albums are in stereo but I get tired of it after the playing of about 7 or 8 songs--they all sound alike to a degree-but then I come back to it later. The lead vocalist, Jean, sounds like Diana Ross very much but these albums suffer from poor song writing which I believe was caused by Motown and Barry Gordy failing to support this group after Diana left. On the contrary this is a real great collectible set to have because the albums on it are hard to find. The pictures are great and linear notes about the Supremes after Diana are well written and interesting. Supreme fans should get this boxset for the collectible value --bar none----
The Supreme Supremes.......2007-04-15
The Supremes began to really be a group again in 1970, and the albums produced, while Jean was in the group, provided much needed soul and depth to the group. These albums are priceless despite the fact that the group got little promotion from Motown. They managed to have several major hits, including "Up the Ladder to the Roof," "Stone Love," and "Floy Joy." This package, which features all the tracks from those albums, include some gems like "Bill When Are You Coming Back," a filler and b-side song, which was recorded during a time that artists sang songs about the Vietnam War. Also, you should find songs like "This Is the Story" very interesting, and this cut could have easily been a single. For Mary Wilson fans, listen to her leads on "A Heart Like Mine," and "I Keep It Hid." She also shares the lead on "Bridge Over Troubled Waters," as well as hits "Touch," "Floy Joy," and "Automatically Sunshine." You will hear the additional voices of the Andantes on the album "Produced and Arranged by Jimmy Webb."
Some Triumph And Growing Frustration In These Years.......2007-04-07
The early 1970s found the Supremes in arguably their best form as a true vocal trio since Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson and Diana Ross.
From the period chronicled in this outstanding boxed set released in December 2006, there are 68 tracks spanning five albums with Jean Terrell as lead vocalist. Thirteen of the selections are previously unreleased, including an alternate take of the Stevie Wonder-penned Bad Weather.
During this period, the Supremes released two outstanding albums under the guidance of producer Frank Wilson - Right On & New Ways But Love Stays. The final collaboration between the group and Wilson showed artistic strains with the album, Touch.
Floy Joy is the highly-anticipated album that was arranged and produced by Smokey Robinson, with The Supremes Produced and Arranged by Jimmy Webb a failed attempt to push the group into the rock/pop arena.
The unreleased songs - which take up most of the second disc - cover a wide range of material, and includes Eleanor Rigby, If I Were Your Woman and It's Too Late.
The liner notes and photographs supplement the music and make for a great package that clearly demonstrates the Supremes could continue delivering quality material if only given the opportunity by Motown Records.
This is a story of triumph, opportunities lost and great frustration for the Supremes, but it is a collection which shows beyond a doubt that the trio was striving to achieve new artistic heights while facing a growing indifference from record company executives.

Album Description
It's a new beginning with this third installment in the Detaching the World series. Musician Emil Gagliardi has written these compositions to reflect a unique inner journey, a style often described as meditative guitar. This music creates a peaceful, soothing environment for
massage,
relaxation,
meditation, and
yoga.
Detaching the World Vol. 3 provides
over 60 minutes of continuous comforting ambient guitar work. As with all cds releases by this artist, there are no: fast tempos, fluctuating volume changes, synthesizers or percussion.
At the start of this journey, we come across the first composition; a 25 minute piece entitled A New Beginning. You hear an immediate gentle wave of music as the tone is set in favor of listeners requesting a blissful atmosphere for massage and relaxation. Throughout A New Beginning, the ambient landscapes of guitar change as if the artist is! taking us on a special calming voyage away from the mind and toward the heart.
Motions is a perfect example of meditative guitar as Detaching the World takes you deeper into a meditative state. The listener can hear a warm background melody weave in between each tranquil note giving the textures of the song a levitation type feel.
As we embark on the leisurely gentle Comforts of Home, this piece portrays a special improvised feeling of calmness as if the artist just took us in from a cold day, sat us down by the fire with a warm blanket, and handed us a cup of tea.
The latter leads us into Spring, a uniquely creative composition symbolizing a change within the musical climate of this work of art. The magic of Spring is meant to remind listeners of the special atmosphere needed to receive massage. Each tender note is meant to melt away anxiety and stress.
In this ever changing world of music, Detaching the World brings massage therapists, yoga instructors and seekers of total relaxation world wide to a new dimension. This music bestows upon the listener gentleness and ease like the inhalation and exhalation of the breath.
Customer Reviews:
Ambient Guitarist Emil Gagliardi Creates Cosmic Sounds.......2007-06-03
Ambient guitarist Emil Gagliardi calls his independent label Connecting the Universe Music, and this CD truly has the feel of a personal and instant connection to the cosmos. The album starts off ambitiously with big, dreamy, and mysterious chords that engender intimate reflection of both the internal and the external, and perhaps even the dimensional. From there, the CD continues a kaleidoscopic journey of piercing string plucks, bagpipe-like tones, and sprightly harmonics. By the end, the spacy, floating wah-wahs will have the listener drifting away on clouds.
Great Gift for The Boss.......2007-02-14
I gave this to my boss for a present and he loved it. What a great way to get the Boss to be calm and happy.
A favorite pick for my clients and myself.......2006-03-25
This cd should be in the 'Massage Music Hall of Fame'. Over 60 minutes and truly divine.
Another great release from the series!.......2005-04-20
There's no question about it - five stars for this new volume in the Detaching the World series! I have a massage and polarity therapy practice in which this music is perfect for. My clients comment that the music definitely adds to the goal of achieving balance and total relaxation within. It's calming, soothing and peaceful in all the ways it should be. I often have trouble finding such even and well balanced music for my practice but this series is a great find. Currently I have Vol. 1, 2 & 3 of the Detaching the World series and will keep an eye out for more. They create the perfect atmosphere and assist with the healing intentions of my work. I highly reccomend Detaching the World music as a whole, but I think that Vol. 3 is my favorite of the three so far.
A wonderful well balanced accompaniment to massage .......2004-12-18
I recently purchased Detaching the World's volume 3 cd at an AMTA annual event held in Boxborough, MA. In the exhibit hall I noticed the record label had a booth promoting the third release from this artist. Me being an avid fan of the artist's work, I immediately stood in line to have him sign my new purchase. Even though the booth was swarmed with other therapists requesting signed cds and asking a ton of questions, he had this ability to make everyone feel comfortable and relaxed. This composure he showed embodies in the music he creates.
Detaching the World volume 3 is a luscious beautiful compilation that flows extremely well with massage. It is well balanced and matches perfectly with the energy work I give. Each song seems to stream into one another without any loud volume changes or increased pace. Even though this cd is my new favorite in the collection, I would highly recommend the entire series to any therapist looking for soothing background music as an accompaniment to massage.

Best Single Dorsey Disc.......2007-07-03
This is by far the best single disc of Tommy Dorsey's hits. I could quibble about some of the song selection, but on the whole, a great overview of one of the best bands of the era.
Excellent reissue.......2001-06-11
A reissue of RCA's "This Is..." double-LP from the 1970s, this is perhaps the best-rounded Tommy Dorsey collection yet issued, with equal representation given to Sinatra sides, other featured vocalists, full band numbers, and a few sides by the Clambake Seven. Volume 2 has been reissued as well, and one hopes that RCA will see to the reissue of the rest of the series (Goodman, Shaw, Ellington, Waller, Miller, et al.).

good times head banging.......2007-03-23
This is a pretty good solid state overall. If you are into the roster right now on solid state this is a pretty good representation of what the new cd's are like. It was nice to hear becoming the archetype's new song before the album is even released. THe only reason I gave this album 4 stars is because i don't like a few of the songs (only like 2 of them) and the last demon hunter track my heart strings come undone the acoustic version didn't really flow with the rest of the cd. Other than that it is great. I got mine for 6 dollars so i can't complain!!!!!!!!!!!!
